Our case was transferred back in January and we found out today that our case had been approved and that the Green Card is in the mail. We had originally filed in early December, didn't have an interview or any issues, just a slower than expected process, which isn't really unexpected when it comes to the US government. Hope more people who had their cases transferred who are still waiting get theirs approved soon as well.
Great news!

When we got ours finished up by the civil surgeon at the hospital, they gave us another sealed copy and told us to guard it with our life. Apparently this happens a lot. Really awful, and they must have known it was missing long ago, couldn't they let you know? Geez.

Since you aren't actually the "petitioner" (he is for the I-485), you can't technically request this information. It works the same way as a HIPPA would (you'd need a third party release as well for to obtain his health information).
What I did on the release I sent was signed and had my husband sign beside me, beneficiary and petitioner. That way they can't complain! You cover both grounds.
Glad you got it resubmitted! I wonder who'll get a response first, me or you, haha. I haven't heard anything back from my reps yet.
Haha oh, you'll have to forgive me, I submitted it 7.5 MONTHS AGO!!!! I just assumed since 3/4 of the information was mine that it was okay Apparently not. Well it doesn't matter now, I'll be checking for a "touch" or some action this week. Good luck!

I wonder, has anyone here actually had any really good experiences (i.e. fast results) with the post-180 day service request to the CSC? Or luck with petitioning a congress person's office for help with the CSC? I just passed my 180 day waiting period (our case was transferred to CSC on January 23) and am wondering if its even worth it to go through the robots on the phone tree line with them and put in a request for expediting the process.
I also sent in a congressman request a few days ago, through both representative and senator. They sent it immediately. USCIS responded with traditional stubbornness:
RE: I485
Hi [senator's representative],
All I-485 inquiries/expedite requests should include a privacy release form signed by the applicant. The attached privacy release form is signed by the applicant’s spouse, [the me]. Please resubmit the inquiry with a copy of the privacy release form signed by the applicant, [my husband, the immigrant].
Thank you.
Oh for cryin out loud. He and I are the only people who are allowed case status updates, but now I cannot do this? Sounds like bs. Anyway, got his signature and we're moving on, hopefully on to better things. Come on USCISsssssssss.

Still no touch. I'm pretty frustrated because we need to get it in three weeks time so that he can start school and get his driver's license. We've put this off multiple times already and I am sick of it! Isn't 8 months long enough??
-
I just got home from work and checked email - i485 was approved 15 minutes ago.
Hope the rest of you will hear something very soon! My transfer date was in ultimo January.
Jealous jealous jealous JEAAALLLOUSS!!!
Congratulations. Hopefully that is a good sign!

Aw man, I hope it's a trend!!
Hm.. I was looking at the CSC processing times (which they supposedly update around the 15th of the month- they did not), but then I realized they only list:
I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status Employment-based adjustment applications
Employment-based adjustment applications
Last processed: January 14, 2011
What? Why don't they have the family-based listed?
Even on "Check Processing times" they don't?
Am I dumb....

We were transferred about end of Dec (26 I think). GC in hand about 10 days ago, no interview
Aw man, I hope it's a trend!!

I received the same email. It's now been over 45 days and still nothing.
Really? That is unbelievable. I am sorry.
-
They now say to allow 180 days from case transfer until inquiring about the case.
Yeah wow we got a great reply from them. We waited our 180 days, contacted them, (they were super rude btw) and now 11 business days later:
The status of this service request is:
Thank you for your inquiry. We will pull your file for review. You should receive a follow up notice within 45 days indicating the result of our review.
Really? 45 days? If he doesn't GET his greencard in 45 days I will be mad beyond belief. Thanks for nothing USCIS.

According to the USCIS, the last one they did was January 14, 2011
Well I wish that really meant we were close, but I don't see it.

The wife AOS was submitted on Dec 12th, 2011... which was further sent to CSC in Jan 2012... Haven't heard anything else since the transfer... Probably by End of July 2012...
Ugh. So tired of this!!!

Hi all. I filed on December 9, 2011, got transferred on January 9, 2012 and last touched was on March 29 due to changing of address. Still patiently waiting here....
Some days I'm patient, some days impatient!! Ugh. No touch since 1/19. I think that's when they got it at Csc.
-
Any progress being made? I see about one approved every day and they are scattered all over the date map.
-
I haven't seen a topic for people like my husband and I, we filed in December and were transferred to CSC in January. Did anyone else transfer in January? I just want to look at some of your timelines and see what's up because it look incredibly slow. I had no idea going to CSC was going to be such a death sentence to our progress!!
Come and whine with me.
-
So the consensus is that it depends on which officer happens to get your file? Sometimes it's fine, other times not, and this is random. That is what I am getting from these posts on VJ.
-
I don't want to repeat something which has seemingly been beating to death, but I'm very confused. My fiance got his 3025 at Knightsbridge in London and he was all fine except one MMR. He did not get it there, but they said that all he needed was to get it at his GP and he would be fine for AOS. Is this true or not? I had always heard you needed to transfer to the 693 by a civil surgeon. I don't want to take someone's word for it in London and then get into a mess with USCIS. Please advise.

My fiance will be coming into the US on his K-1 visa soon, and we don't know how to get him health insurance before he gets a green card. It's a gamble to leave him uninsured in that time. Do companies allow you to get health insurance with just a SSN, or do you require a green card as well? Does it vary by company? I can't find this information. I don't get mine through work so it's not simple like this, he will have to get his own individual insurance. Any thoughts? Thanks!

whats the difference between I-134 and I-864? Are both of these needed for K-1 application process?
Unless I am regionally incorrect (they're kind of strict there, yes?). It's a blanket rule that K-1's fill out I-134 for the K-1 interview. I-864 is for someone doing Aadjustment of status, like you will be later on in your journey or like someone applying for a spousal visa.

I can't believe the day has finally arrived and hopefully by tomorrow afternoon this will all be over. My interview at London is at 9am tomorrow, I will be on the train at 4.30am this morning.
I'm Soooooo excited & nervous I'm sure I wont even sleep tonight, wish my SO was here with me .
Any last minute advice regarding London interview??
Thanks everyone for all the help, support and advice given on VJ over the past 10 months.
Good luck, your journey's been a bit complicated! I'm sure you know this, but don't forget the rule about electronics either; it would push you to the end of the line!

For that reason you don't have a Certificate of Naturalization, and for that reason you are proud to be a Pakistani, instead of being proud to be an American. I'm just curious why you want you mom to come to America, instead of you moving back to the country you love so much?
Gee willikers! There's nothing unusual about someone saying "proud to be x" as their home nation. He also says "God bless America;" obviously he has affection for both nations. Unless I am missing something...
-
GAH they finally called me back after being on hold and then they hung up on me.
Typicallllllll haha. I'm sorry!!
-
I can't believe I forgot to mention what is probably my second biggest gripe - vacation policies!
My fiance literally could not believe I was only going to get one week off after my first year of working. Hm.....
-
I can't wait until our day! I know I'll be so nervous and excited for him. I wish it were me, because I'd just tell them nonsense until they told me to shut up, whereas he is more reserved haha. I love to brag about him
