  1. If you are not in the category for needing one such as because of your age or condition then you can have it waivered.

According to USCIS "Influenza vaccine is required for applicants 6 months through 18 years of age during the influenza (flu) season. Influenza vaccine continues to be required for adults 50 years of age or older."

Oh, thats brilliant news. I must have missed that bit in my panic!

Things changed in Nov. 2010 and everyone 6 months and older are required to get the flu shot if it is flu season. http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/updates/action-recommendations-flu-vaccine.html

Thank you! I'm hoping that's the last time I'm confused for a while :)

  2. Hi all

I will be getting shots on Monday but I've already been told that there are no flu vaccinations (with it being the middle of July and I couldn't get them in the UK because they'd run out by early April). Does this mean that I'm going to have to wait to send in all my paperwork until I've hat the shot (probably early Sept)? Being a housewife is driving me crazy - I want to work!!!

    Thanks

  3. I shipped my stuff just before I left the UK and it arrived a little while after I arrived in the US. I did have to provide a photocopy of my passport bio page and my visa. No I-94. If you have any questions you should be able to seek clarification from the shipping company, in your case DHL.

Thanks for that. It's a lot clearer now! Phew, something less to stress about. Just got to find my scales so I can weigh my boxes haha.

  4. Hi all

Firstly, I'm sorry if I'm going over old ground here but the information I've read isn't clear to me.

I'm flying on a K1 visa on the 20th of April - Yippee! I'd like to send my few boxes of belongings on the 19th. I understand that there is a form CBP Form 3299 to fill in - OK so far - but I've read somewhere that you need to also attach copies of the visa and I-94. That can't be right can it as I wont have an I-94.

I'm very confused, I thought it would be simple DHL'ing my meagre possessions! Can someone please give an idiots guide to sending my stuff?

    Thanks in advance, Anita

  5. Anron,

What cover letter did you forget. There is no instructions from the embassy that a "cover Letter" is needed just the DS-2001, that is how the embassy knows you have submitted all documents.

You submitted your docs about the same time as Jodie, hopefully we all will receive word this week.

This is what the form that you received says: "You or your agent may notify the US embassy or consulate listed on the cover letter that you are ready for an interview by using this form DS2001."

On the London Embassy under Step 2 it says to include cover letter containing your email address, if applicable, date of your wedding and date of the medical examination. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

I did write on the DS2001 when my medical was taking place but we haven't set a wedding date and since I stupidly missed the information I didn't put my email address on although I'm sure it's on the other forms.

I really wanted to be with my sweetheart for my birthday in April but I think that plan is slipping away... so near and yet so far....

Please drop me a message if you do hear something and I'll do likewise :) Fingers crossed for us all!

  6. :bonk: you could call DOS and ask about your case... they will be able to tell you if the embassy have everything they need from you. i think though that i would print off a cover letter and mail that and another DS-2001 to the embassy

I think I'll wait it out this week - the Embassy should have had my medical docs for 2 weeks by Friday and if still nothing in the mail get my other half to call. Thanks for your advice :)

  7. :( Just realised today that I forgot to send a cover letter with the 2001 readiness for interview form. Is this a major problem that will cause delays? I'm getting more and more anxious as the days are passing as I've moved home but was very clear on the packet 3 documents about it. :(
  8. There seems to be some variation on the date you are given for an interview after your medical. My time line is;

    • 17th February - Medical
    • 24th February - Embassy gets results
    • 29th February - Embassy sends letter with interview date
    • 16th April - Interview

Another member here had the same medical date as I did and his interview is scheduled for next week.

Wow, that seems a long wait for you. I'm just waiting for the postman every day now. I'm more concerned that I'll only get the letter a day or two before the interview date and then I'll be in a mad panic to get to London! Just as well you can book hotels and coach tickets on-line I suppose!

  9. Hi,

You should visit the uk forum on here. Someone in there got an interview within a month recently which might give you an indication of the current time scales. Im waiting for my interview too. Hurry up!!!

    Cheers for that

  10. Hello fellow VJers!

I've sent back my letter of readiness and had my medical so I'm just wondering how long it usually takes for the Embassy in London to send out the appointment letter and roughly how long till the actual interview. Just curious as friends want to plan a party to make sure I'm going! haha

    Many thanks

    Anita :D

  11. Its says on the NOA2 that "You should allow a minimun of 30 days for Dept of State processing before contacting the NVC" This being said we recieved our NOA2 on Jan 3, 2012 The letter from the NVC stating they had forwarded our petition to the US Embassy in London was dated the 12th, but I didn't get it in the mail until Jan 20th.

  12. The AR-11 is really for after he lives in the US and moves.

At this point his address on the I-129F is where London will mail his instructions (formerly called Packet 3). Once London has received his file from NVC, he could call the embassy and hope they get it corrected. But he doesn't really need that letter for anything other than to know London has the file and is ready for him to proceed. The letter gives a webpage to go to for instructions.

Here--read this post I wrote on the same subject. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/318905-what-is-the-nvc-approval-number/page__view__findpost__p__4773943 It explains how to proceed even if he doesn't get the letter.

Wonderful! Thank you so much for your reply.

  13. Hi all

When I was a teenager (19 years ago) I spent some time in Bahrain (less than 2 years). Mostly I was there as a tourist but I did gain residency for about 6 months.

What I'd like to know is will I require a police cert from Bahrain (I'm in the process of applying to go to USA on a K1 visa) and if so how do I go about it? I've googled but not found anything very helpful so far.

I know that, as a UKC I need one from ACPO

    Thanks in advance
