  1. First off, "congrats" to all whose petitions were approved. Next, "hang in there" to all whose petitions are still pending (easier said than done, I know).

Finally, to the point of this post: My I-130 petition was approved today (Feb 16, 2012) by CSC. Mine was an Aug 19, 2011 priority date.

Can someone explain to me the difference between a regular I-130 filing and a "Priority" I-130 filing?

  2. Well, my husband used to live in the USA from when he was 6 years old to about 20.

He had a daughter with an American girl when he was 17. He moved back to England

when he was 20 or so, and he hasn't been able to see his daughter since she was 2.

How time flies, she's graduating high school (valedictorian candidate!) in May 2012,

she's turning 18 in Feb 2012, and she really would like to share her many

    accomplishments with him. :star:

We simply composed a very sincere, heartfelt letter, included a copy of our I-130

receipt notice, and posted it off to the California Service Center in Laguna Niguel.

The worst they can say is no right? :star: But hopefully it'll be compelling enough.

She really wants to meet him.

Thank you Adriene. I wish you all the best in your expedite request. People like you deserve a quick procedure :)

  3. Hi all, hows it going in here? Hope everyone stays rad.

I have a question, while our CR-1 is pending I can't travel to the US. Soon though I'll be taking a business trip to Canada. I assume that's allowed ;)

But what will happen in the, of course very, very unlikely event that we need to make a pit-stop on American soil, due for example bad flight weather? I'm just curious. Hope someone knows more about this.

    Thanks.

  4. We completely feel your anguish. When I went to visit my husband back in August, I just didn't want to leave but he kept saying that good things come to those who wait. All we can do now is sit tight and wait, and all of us within the VJ community can support each other as it's now out of our hands and we can only act when USCIS give us something to act on. Hopefully, it will be sooner rather than later that all of our cases progress.

I like your words. Hang in there everybody, good luck. :)

  5. Here's a link to NVC's page on police certificates: http://travel.state....195.html#police Scroll just a little bit and there's a table.

Remember, it'll take about 5 months just to get your I-130 approved.

When did you move to NZ?

I am not there yet. Our total timeline will be about 8-9 months in which we can process this.

So yeah it's a bit of a challenge to move to a different country and then run the CR-1. But obviously we will mention my temporary address in the CR-1 forms from the get-go.
