That's really interesting that we get to take the oath the same day. And your interview was the day after mine, too.
Did you change our colors to red? You're optimistic.
I'm still worried something might go wrong and I don't want to count on anything until I actually hold the naturalization certificate in my hands.

Im sure nothing will ever go wrong. My ceremony will be in a district court so Im hoping they will have my petition for name change with no problems

Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted. Well, I did my interview at the Phoenix office yesterday and it went pretty well. There was a long line of people interviewing and it took me a 45 mins wait time before I was called by the IO.
Here were a few questions:
1. Name one war fought by the US in the 1800s.
2.Name one war fought by the US in the 1900s.
3. The house of representatives has how many voting members.
4. We elect a US representative for how many years.
5.What month do we vote for the President.
6. Name one American Indian tribe in the US.
Then he showed me a paper and told me to read "Who was the first president of the United States?" and he let me write the answer "Washington was the first president".
So he told me that was the hard part and after that he just clarified some information on my application and had me sign some papers. All I have to do is wait for my oath taking letter yeay!... Generally, I thought the whole experience was really good plus the IO was really nice

Where is barrio Fiesta in Chandler? I often drive going to chandler fashion mall. I miss halo-halo.
I know that there is a Red Ribbon in Arizona Mills. Hey.. Good to hear that there are lots of pinoy in your place...
So we seldom go to the east valley--it's just too far. But most Filipino stores/restaurants are down there so we don't mind driving to get some halo-halo @ Barrio Fiesta in Chandler or Red Ribbon treats in Tempe. There's a lot of Pinoy's here in the west valley near the Luke AFB where my husband is also stationed.Barrio Fiesta @ Elliot and Alma School Rd. It is beside IHop. There's a pinoy bakery inside too and they just recently opened up the business when we last went there about 2 weeks ago.

Welcome to one of the hottest (I mean hot!) cities in the US!!! Avondale is just a few minutes drive to Phoenix, Glendale and Scottsdale.
We're having a superbowl party @ my sister in law's house--- GO CARDS!!!!!!

Thanks guys! I really wasn't expecting anything in my mail today as I have mentioned, I was gearing myself for 14 months of waiting but you never know the interview letter will be there sooner

So Phoenix seems to be pretty fast. Well, hopefully Washington will be just as fast. I'm about 8 to 14 days behind you.
Im quite surprised myself coz it says in the USCIS processing times page that it takes about 14 months in Phoenix. So it's good to know Im getting there. Im sure you guys will have your interview letter soon!

I'm just confuse now, i need help pls.
is there any link or guidelines about travelling while pregnant. On my interview date Jan 16), I'll be 7 months and a week pregnant. I want to give birth to U.S. u think i can still or allowed to travel by that time?
pls i need help.

Hey there! I was 30 weeks pregnant when I left the PI. I downloaded a form from the Philippine Airlines website that you can have your OB sign. Make sure your doctor clears you for travel overseas because some airlines wont allow you to travel at 7 months even with proper documentation. Actually there was a Pinoy immigration officer who by the way held us up on the gate.That said, after a long ardous process of getting a visa here comes a misinformed person trying to stop us from leaving the airport! A nice immigration officer was kind enough read through our clearance and gave us a go.
One important thing too that helped me deal with that is my husband came to the PI to pick me up. At least he was there to confront those people.
Well I hope you get your visa soon. It is rewarding to have your baby born in the US.

Congratulations to all of those who had their interviews and oath takings!
Im celebrating my first day as a US Citizen today!
Finally a naturalization certificate in my hand!
It had been a wonderful and memorable occasion for me. The processing of all the paperwork and the ceremony were all good. Good work AZ USCIS!
Next project--passport! Yeay! Social Security people were there after the ceremony to file and update our immigration status (as US Citizens now). That saved us a trip to the SSA offices. Hopefully in 3 weeks I would get my new SSCard (same info and # of course) and be able to apply for a passport
