Hey all,
I had my AOS interview today..and to make a long story short..it went really well!!! The IO was very straightforward and stern at first but lightened up and began an open conversation about my interests and career path. He only asked my wife ONE question.."How did you and your husband meet?" Then he said.."Ok, I am going to approve your GC as of right now..congratulations." God is truly awesome! Good luck to everyone still waiting.
Advice: RELAX and be honest..and all will work. The interview is not tricky whatsoever. God Bless everyone in this process!

Hi GreekTrojan,i'm just wondering if ur case was transfered to CSC or not. My case is in CSC but still not touched since June 29th. I'm wondering what's going on there
Anyways, good luck on ur interview! the Lord will bless u...
Nope, it was never transferred. But in your case, if it was transferred, you will have no interview! So, youre basically just waiting for your approval to come in..

Received my AOS interview letter for next month--Sept. 20th! Wooohoo..things are starting to move right along now. Thank God!

June is moving VERY fast!!! Congrats everyone! I got my 3rd notice on my EAD today..so lets hope its in the mail by Friday!!!
-
I got my first card (maiden name) in a week and my second card (married name) in a month!
Hey which items did you guys bring with you to the SSA to get your SSC? Is my passport, EAD and receipts enough? Or do I need to bring anything else? My passport does not have the i-94 stamp though.
-
Yes. You can refer to my timeline below. Congratulations!
Thanks!

Hey everyone..is it safe to say the EAD take roughly 7-10 days to come after approval?

Hello everyone! Sorry for my hiatus..I really had to take time off of the feed and put my case into God's hands. I have been battling with immigration for the LONGEST time..believe me. Reading the feed was uplifting but also frustrating. Everyday I grew more and more impatient. It heavily weighed on my mind and made it much harder to think straight and to sleep at night. In the midst of all of this, I continued to pray..and today it PAID off!!! I was finally approved for my EAD today! Thank the GOOD LORD ABOVE!!!!!
Applied for AOS/EAD: May 5th
Received: May 6th
RFE: May 21st (affidavit of support)
Biometrics: May 24th
RFE response sent: June 3rd
RFE response received by USCIS: June 9th
ANOTHER RFE: July 28th (USCIS mistake as they sent me the SAME RFE for an affidavit of support)
Response to the SAME RFE sent: Aug. 5th
Response for 2nd RFE received by USCIS: Aug. 11th
EAD Approved, Card Production: Aug. 11th!!!!!!!! Thank you Lord!
99 days later..I have been approved! Whew...next up..AOS Interview letter (in progress)
For all of those waiting..I commend you to be faithful and persistent! I called USCIS a bunch of times, set up an Infopass and had my lawyers write letters to USCIS on my behalf. I tried just about everything in my power to get my case approved. RFE's truly slow you down. USCIS said they would not process my EAD with an RFE issued. So, make sure to address these (even if its USCIS's mistake).
Good luck to all!!!!

Hi just to let everyone know I received my EAD at my infopass appointment today
I got fingerprinted and 2 mugshots taken and was in and out in about 1hour
good to go for 3 months
The lady told me that everyone should get it automatically after their 90 days are up
once they request the infopass appointment.
Regards a very happy chappy
Congrats! Hey which documents did you bring? Is the I-797c for the EAD, GC and the biometrics appt, enough??
-
that's great, just try to have some sleep tonight everything's gonna be fine, I will pray for you tonight and tomorrow and will be waiting for the good news Good luck !!
Hey Wisenmart..when did you actually apply?? Your time has two dates its seems..(3/23 for AOS) and (5/08) for EAD..did you apply from your EAD after your AOS was sent off??

Congrats Marci Lewis!

I have plenty of friends and relatives that have gone thru the same process with LESS evidence than you have. As long as you guys are really married, you will have no problem proving it. Pictures with each others families, marriage photos, joint lease, utility bills, bank accounts and knowing about each other's respective family is just fine. The interviews are laid back until the stories start to get mixed up. My friend told me they didnt even ask for pictures on his interview cus the IO could tell he and his wife were married simply by their interaction. Look relaxed and put it in God's hands..it will be fine. The hard part is over...getting the interview. Some of us havent even got our EAD yet! Lol, let us know how the interview goes, you will do fine.

Looks like May is not moving as swiftly as April did. They must be backlogged or something.
-
SORRY everyone! My computer is acting up and I was getting all of my msgs mixed up. i get it now Dulcinea..makes sense. Good luck everyone
-
I mean an early walk in with the appointment letter of course.
Actually, I meant to send that to Lami, not you. Sorry for the mix up.
Lami, how were you able to do a walk-in if you didnt receive your bio appt letter until today?
-
Did you do the walk in? I think even if get your BIO done earlier than scheduled USCIS still processes everything according to their own schedule.
I had my BIO done on June 29 and received my appointment letter today, on July12.
How did you do a walk-in without your biometric appt letter? And I agree, I dont think early walk-in expedites your process. I did a walk-in May 24th and still have not heard a peep back.

Question: does the location of where you filed your EAD play a role in how quickly you get approved? I know it plays a role for your GC, but I thought EADs were all processed at the NBC. Anyone care to shed light on this? Thanks! Wishing everyone a great day and good news with our applications. God Bless.
-
Wow! Congrats everyone..seems like May is moving along here. I applied May 5th, and still have not heard anything back after my biometric appt on May 24th. Sigh, its getting really frustrating..Im staying positive tho..Day 67, thus far.
-
Wishing everyone a good week!
-
Your RFE should not slow down your process by much. If you are able to get it in within 2-3 weeks, your timeline will still be 2-2.5 months to get your EAD. Anything more than 75 days allows you to get an infopass for ur EAD.
-
My I-485 RFE letter said that I-765 was gonna be processed in about 60 days after they received my RFE response. So I guess it puts 765 on hold...
Well from your timeline, your EAD was approved yesterday and that was well within 2 months of you applying and sending in your RFE..thus, i still think that the RFE did not affect your EAD approval time.
-
I applied May 5th, and still have not heard anything back. No interview, no EAD. They have not touched my application since 06/09/2011. I have no idea whats going on. Seems like this was going to be the week that the early May filers would have received EAD approvals. Oh well, its up to God. I just have to be patient.
-
Finally, my EAD got approved!! Status on card/document production YAY!!!!! It took us almost 3months because of RFE.
No CSC transfer... Hopefully I get a intervew date set up soon:)
Congrats to all GC approves.
CONGRATS! Was the RFE for your I-765 or I-485? USCIS told me that an RFE for a pending I-485 does not slow down/affect the approval time for a I-765 since they are separate applications.
