  1. Hi, just read your question. There is no standard documents that you send to her but u need to prove evidence of funds to take care of her visit, she does not need to show any financial statement since your paying for the trip. When I invited my mother inlaw, she didn't go with any of her financial details, if your mother inlaw has grand children, state the number in ur invitation letter or if her husband is still around, state that in your invitation, that should take care of family ties in Nigeria.

This a check list, not definite but just a guide.

Her appointment letter for interview, 2"x2" passport photograph, her international passport, letter of invitation from you stating purpose of visit and who is sponsoring the visit, your six months bank statements, your six months pay stub, copy of both ur wife and yours permanent resident card or US citizenship, u might include ur 3years income tax, not necessary but you never know.

I included affidavit of support when I invited my mother in law, though she told me they didn't look at it, but it shows ur ready to take absolute responsibility for her travel, it is not necessary but too much never hurts in US embassy in Nigeria.

    Hope this helps.......goofy.gif

  2. I am so devastated right now (no surprise) My Fiance's interview was this morning in Lagos. He brought all required documentation and answered all questions but was denied because the officer felt that there was not enough supporting evidence to prove our relationship. Now I have to admit usually when I read this type of stuff I am somewhat jaded but in this situation we have been in contact for 5 years and provided phone records, chat conversations, and pictures from while i was in Lagos last year. I have no clue what to do at this point and any advice would be helpful.

So sorry about the denial, I know the tension I had when my fiance went for her interview....

Well I guess its better to marry and file for spuose as Alexba suggested.....

    Be strong, its well....

  3. the law states you have to be a US citizen to petition for parents, you dont need to stay in US for 5yrs to petiton.

the 5yrs rule might apply to a green card holder, which the person is eligible to file for US citizeship before petitioning for parents..

  4. I understand what you mean, I use rebtel also, the name of the person shows and duration, not the number...

What I did is to print the account page, displaying the number and the name of person associated with the number, then highlight it for easy identification. Then put this print out in front of the printed call records, which you have also highlighted your finace's call history....

    Good luck....

  5. Hi, I believe the affidavit of support u'll file in lagos is form I-134, not I-864...refer to http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/uploads/images/Oz3jzJKft7-I9fdYbciExA/packet4.pdf

Also for your children, I dont think u have to file I-130 for them, u need to apply for US passport for them, it doesnt matter if you were a permenant resident when they were born...refer to http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/acs_abuja_birthabroad.html

    Goodluck..
