  1. Hello,

    To answer your questions:

If your fiancé works at his brother's shop then, yes, he should provide that as a place of employment with the dates that he started, etc. Basically list ANYWHERE he has worked in the last five years, including gaps of unemployment. Do not leave gaps of time with no employment/ unemployment accounted for.

For how you met in the last 2 years, be detailed. Think back to the times when you met up and describe things that you did, where you went, if it is when the two of you first met each other then explain that. USCIS is trying to look for a genuine response showing that you have met, do not be vague. Questions in regard to this section will come in the future. Whether they ask him them at the K1 interview or at the AOS interview.

For address, place your parents at the moment. That is what I had to do when I initially filed for the K1. When I moved to my apartment I filled out the online change of address form and submitted it to USCIS. Every time you guys move, your fiancé will need to fill this out, it is part of the stipulation of being a legal immigrant. You can find this form on the USCIS website: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa . This is the direct link to the page to change it.

I hope this helps! Have a great day. :)

  2. My husband's I-765 was approved and there wasn't a change in status for the I-131. I was confused as well until we received the work permit card in the mail and at the bottom of it it said that is functioned for AP as well. Nice little combo! Chances are that that is the way your's is as well. The work permit should come with paperwork that explains this and it will also be stated on the bottom of the card as I said previously. Hope this helps you out! If things go for you like they did for us you should be all set! We've been approved for a Green Card and if I check the status of AP there still isn't a change in its status even though he is approved for it. :) Best of luck.

  3. Hello,

My fiancé and I will be filing for his AOS around mid-March after we get married. Myself and my co-sponsor have been gathering up tax transcripts/ W-2s for this process. Do we need to include the 2011 taxes? My co-sponsor, along with myself are planning to file 2011 taxes in a couple weeks. There is therefore the possibility that when we go to file AOS that the tax transcripts may not yet be available. Should we file AOS just using 2008, 2009 and 2010 tax transcripts or plan to include the 2011 taxes, even if it means just making photocopies of the forms we filed along with W-2s instead of the 2011 tax transcript? I have heard that some people have received an RFE around this time of year, because they did not include "the recent tax year".

Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

  4. We had nothing notarized and the I-134 didn't even come into play until his interview. For the original USCIS petition we included the I-129F, G-325A for both of us, letters of intent from both of us (signed), proof of meeting (they want info the demonstrates that you have physically been in the same place together over the last 2 years, things like cards and letters really don't matter at this point. What's important are stamps in passports, boarding passes, receipts for trips or hotels you stayed at together, photos (we sent about 12; try to have some where there are more than just the two of you in the photos, like say family members), photo-copy of the front & BACK of the birth certificate for the petitioner, passport sized photos signed on the backs. I payed close attention to the VJ guide for the K1 and everything went well for us with no RFEs. Make sure that if you cannot fit everything on one G-325A form that you complete another one and that you put a note on the first one saying see page number "blank" for continuation and on the continuation form that you put down "continuation of G-325A question "blank"" and make sure to sign and date each additional sheet.

    Hope this helps. :)

  5. Like the previous person stated, the time to an NOA2 can take anywhere from 4-6 months if not longer. The service centers can have a tendency to get backed up with petitions. Once the petition is approved it can vary with how long it takes to get to the embassy. Mine took less than a week to get to NVC and was sent to the embassy in less than a week. But on the other hand, some people's files take a month at NVC. It really does appear to be luck of the draw. Also, some embassies are quicker than others. Some will schedule an interview very quickly form within a few weeks to a month, some schedule like 3 months out. :( Looking at Igor's list and just visa stats for people that have K1 visas from your country will help give you an idea for the whole process. There isn't any exact measure tho. It took us 139 days to get an NOA2 and after the date of the NOA2 about 2 months till when the interview is; my fiancé is from Ireland.

I hope this helps you a bit. :)

  6. I sent my packet 3 before I got it from the embassy - I just printed out the forms from their website :)

Okay, I wanted to do this, but I was worried that we wouldn't send in the right forms. I found the DS-2001 online, notice of readiness, so we can send that and I know that we need DS-230 part 1 sent in, but then they also want this "signed checklist" I can't find the checklist for Ireland anywhere online! Otherwise I would send it in. I don't want to get delayed because we didn't include everything. Any advice?

  7. Hello Everyone,

So it is going on 11 days since our Fiance visa file has arrived at the Dublin Embassy and still no packet 3. I'm feeling a bit anxious because it seems that usually people receive packet 3 within just a few days to under a week. Is this normal and am I freaking out for nothing or could there be a problem? I've tried emailing them, but haven't received any sort of response. I am also trying to avoid calling them because it costs 2.40 euros a minute!

Any sort of help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance for your time!

  9. Hello Everyone!

My fiancé had his medical today in Dublin, but he didn't receive any sort of form that resembles a DS-2032. They said that all the paperwork wouldn't be ready for another week and then he could come to Dublin and collect it. I am just worried that he will not have all necessary paperwork for when we go through AOS so that he won't have to take the medical again. He asked for the form, but they just told him it would all be ready in a week. I'm just slightly confused. Has anyone else went through this? Thanks for any responses. :)
