Hello all,
My husband came to live with me in in March of this year and he is also a greencard holder in Spain. As some of you know you have to travel into the country at least every six months to get your passport stamped in order to not loose your residency in Spain. Is there anything that we can do so that he doesn't have to travel every six months until his double nationality comes through? Can we go to the embassy and request a special permission or something?
Any info an agency to contact is greatly appreciated.

i believe that they are sending the medicals directly to the consul.... that's what happened with me and i believe that it is become a standard process now.... just call the medical office and they will tell you the same thing.

Hello everyone,
My husbands POE is next Thursday into JFK and we were wondering which Immigration line. When i came through i saw three lines, VISITORS, GREEN CARD HOLDERS AND U.S CITIZEN. I know it's not the US Citizen one but am wondering if it is the Visitors or the GC one.

Hello guys,
Do you know how much we have to pay at Banco Popular for a CR1 visa?
-
thanks
and yes you are correct, he is a Dominican national and has a residency card for Spain, we are married and we are planning for him to move to the US with me.
-
hello guys,
We have a CR1 visa interview in the Dominican Republic and are wondering if my spouse (beneficiary) needs a new passport for his interview. He has a residency card for Spain and lived there for a couple of years and all his stamps/visa from Spain are on his current passport.

Call 202-663-1225 (DOS) and speak with a Visa Specialist. With your NVC case number and other details only either the Petitioner, Beneficiary or your lawyer would know and see if your Visa was issued to DHL yet or what is going on.
-
You can call for her and be a rep all you need are the case #, beneficiary name and DOB and petitioner name and DOB. I believe they also have Spanish speaking operators but am not sure, just try and see.
But i was told by them since i never received the AOS packet for the IV packet in the mail that once the payment posted (you can check online with your case # and invoice #; https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx
If the fees are posted as PAID then you can send in the AOS forms and the IV form.
But call them first since you are sending original documents with the IV packet.

Once they received payment are able submit all of the forms. I just did this in November/December 2011 with NVC. You should also call them and speak to a live operator.
603-334-0700 press 1 for English then 5 for an Operator.

I got my NOA2 in 56 days so you never know.

Just have NVC email you the package.

Good luck, I hope you get your appointment for February too

Got the P4 letter in an email on 12/27/11 for an interview in the Santo Domingo consulate on 2/24/12. I'm super happy dies mio;)
-
Finally got my date 2/14/11
-
Hey guys,
Does anyone have an interview date in the Santo Domingo consulate in February 2012?
-
it shouldn't be more than 5 business days for them to have received it. But i don't think they are like NVC in letting you know if it's been received or not.
-
they normally take 2-3 days to process anything you sent to them, but you can always email it to them in the event they lost it. But how did you pay our IV fee if your DS3032 hasn't been received yet?
-
Did you overnight them, if you did call them to see if they put it into their systems yet... if they did then they should tell you if they need additional info or the case is closed and waiting for an interview.
-
Thanks MrTee12, but my process is a little different since I'm petitioning for a CR1 visa and not a K1 visa. My documents had to be gathered by NVC before they send me off to DR. Our case was complete at NVC as of yesterday and they are only waiting to schedule the interview before sending off the application to DR. But I'm hopeful that by the end of this week they will schedule my husband for an interview in January. I just have to be a little patient for the next few days
-
I spoke to NVC and they said that by the end of the week they should be done with assigning interviews for the cases that are closed and going to the DR consul.... I'm hoping that they will schedule me for a january date.... i just want to be with my more mio
-
i checked and they only give you stats from NVC received and NVC sent to consulate but nothing in between case complete and send to consulate.... i guess i will just have to wait and see...
-
Hello guys,
NVC just advised me that my case is complete and are waiting for an interview date from the Dominican Republic consulate.... do you guys know how long it's taking for them to assign an interview date in DR?
-
yes, email works just fine in 1-2 days they will respond. Make sure that they have at least invoiced you the AOS fee or sent you an email requesting the DS3032 or they will decline it's acceptance but you can always send it in daily till they accept it

I would love to hear about this famous case as well.... Since when we were at our visa interview, the two interviewees asked us if he has ever lived in another country and if he held residency there and he said yes and he has his papers in for his Spanish nationality. He's lived there since he was 16 when his parents moved there from DR legally and moved to DR only 6 months prior to us submitting his US residency papers to attend the family farm after his fathers passing. We fell in love while we were both on vacation in our parents hometown two years before we married, but we've known each other since we were kids from me staying in his hometown with my grandparents during the summertime.
He honestly doesn't care much for Spain and is only doing this because of the pressure from his mom who lives there with his three younger sisters (all in their early 20's), he only wants to be with me and start a family here by my side and one day have a home in DR. Spain is more convenient because of the language and not having to start over but there is no work out there, it's very limited and we are closer to our home country from here than from Spain.
I'm sure that if there was a problem then they wouldn't have given him his visa to come here and be with his baby, me;)
