  2. I think I posted in the wrong thread before :innocent: ooops, but Cristina and I are expecting a baby girl named Sofia in September.:dance::dance::dance:

    Congratulations

Well i had another appointment yesterday with my doc, i'm almost 39 weeks now and he said yesterday its time to book me for induction. We agreed on next tuesday 12th which is 3 days short of my actual due date of the 15th!

I'm all apanic now its actually going to happen, gotta be at labor and delivery by 6 that morning, but have to be up before 4 (2 hours before) to call and make sure my appointment still stands, as you never know with these babies, they just arrive when they wanna!!

Anyway.... at least now my mum can make her plans to come over, which she did yesterday by booking her flight :D

Altho i'll miss the little man kicking and poking me, i'll be so glad to have my body back to myself again, it just aint big enough for the 2 of us....

Hope all you ladies are doing good

  3. Had my weekly app today and also had U/S scan to see how big (or little) he is, weighing in at only 5lb 9oz the doc said that he's a little small but still within the good limit  I will be 38 weeks this coming saturday. The doc offered to sweap my membranes but i declined, as i'd rather labor came on out of the blue rather than knowing it will come on within 48 hours  i'd rather not know.....

I asked why he offered that as there's nothing wrong with baby or me. He said that most women that have had an incompetant cervix as me, with bedrest, spend their time worrying the whole way thru till they get to 37 weeks (full term) then they just want it over with. But i'd rather spend my last couple of weeks uncomfortable and just have this time for me, cause after the birth that wont happen very often if at all. We got some really cool 3D pics of our little one, and for a small baby he has the most adorable little pudgy face and nose

My husband could not stop smiling, it was a special moment (L)

I hope all you mommies are doing good.

  4. I'm going with an epidural, my doctor has already said i can have it anytime i wish after i'm situated and settled in my room

Why be in pain when you dont have to be these days....

My husband said he wants one too... !!

  5. I had my docs appointment today, thinking things would be just the same as last week, it turns out they are very much not, and also after me saying i'm not being induced either! He says i am now between 2-3 cm dilated and now 70% effaced, if i dont go into labor within the next week (which he also doesnt think i will - i'm only 36 weeks) then they are gonna induce me :o not quite being prepared to hear that i was very shocked! I forgot to ask why the inducing and other questions for that matter also.... I can only think that the reason being is because i'm so far along in that department with no contractions, that when i do go into labor its gonna be quick and i might not make it to the hosptial, being about a 45 minute drive on top of waiting for my hubby to get back from work and take me.

I'm having an ultrasound next wednesday to measure how big he is because he also said i'm so small that my pelvis might not be big enough for the baby to pass thru and i might need a c-section! It was to much info for one day..... i havent even packed my hospital bag yet lol which i now need to get crackin on. I'm excited and scared all at once!

Hope all you ladies are doin ok?

    Rach

  6. @Eveline:

Ohh no i'm not being induced, lol i just read what i posted and it looks like i'm having him saturday lol

What i meant was i'm 36 weeks this saturday, so far i've been told that i will be having a vaginal delivery and no c-section

providing everything is fine, you never know with any pregnancy. I had my docs appointment last monday and already i'm 50% effaced and 2% dilated. Not that the dilation means anything according to the nurse, she said i could be walking around for the rest of it like that.

With all the contractions i've been having daily since 19 weeks and now suddendly in the last 2 weeks they have dissapeared!

along with all the other preterm labor symptoms.

@Savanphil: the kicks gets stronger and more painful (well my little mans are) now i can feel either his foot or hand just sitting there stuck

poking out of my belly, its a very strange feeling and you have to kind of push it back in, but when i do push a little he goes dead quite and tries to do a dissapearing act! lol

    He's shy.....

  7. Hi Everyone

I'm new to this thread altho i've known about it for months, i'm not much of a talker so i just look in everyday and never say anything.

Firstly i am almost 36 weeks pregnant, this saturday, we are having a baby boy! I've been on pregnancy bedrest since 19 weeks, and am coming to the end of it hopefully if my doctor gives the go ahead on monday for me to "get back to normal". I went into PreTerm Labor for a short cervix, only 1cm at one point, spent over a month hospitalized for it and didnt dream of getting this far, the baby is very healthy and doing good. We've named him Aiden :luv: I am totally scared and excited all at once of being a mummy.

I'm just about done with this now, i am soo very uncomfortable, my hands are swollen and i have pregnancy carpal tunnel syndrome, i cant feel the palms of hands or fingers, they are numb and tingle the whole time! Bedrest has made me very very weak and i get tired just walking to the mail box and back. Hopefully it wont be much longer.

Anyway thats my story, congrats to all the new mommies and to those just found out they are preggers! :)

  8. On a scale of 1-5 i am 100.... Bored!!

I am 29 weeks pregnant and have now done 10 weeks Bed Rest and i still have at least another 5-6 weeks to go before the doc said i can get up and carry on as normal, whatever that was (i've forgetten)! I cant wait for this pregnancy to be done with now, my belly is big, i'm sure my back is damaged for life  the highlights of my day are when i get up to pee, which is often, thats the only time i'm allowed up.

I'd love to be in a boring job, i'd love to just walk down the driveway and back. I'd love to just do anything other than lay here day after day.....

People say i should be making the most of it, cause when he's arrived i'm gonna be a busy momma and i cant wait! :luv:

  9. I live near Detroit and its a complete nightmare trying to get a job here, people tell me its bad here for work right now :(

I have applied for, i'd say around 50+ jobs online and at my nearest stores, and nothing!! I am getting despondant with the whole situation now. Have been job hunting since around end of sept..... I have over 8 years experience as an office administrator and in sales and finance too, but that doesnt seem to make a blind bit of difference here, I could just as well have no skills at all. But...... i just keep on sending those applications in, hoping that someone will contact me, i'm also pregnant which makes me in kind of a hurry to find something, not that employers can discriminate against that so i've been told, but still it makes me that much more panicky of the whole thing.

I too had lost all my confidence about working over here and all, but believe me after 1 1/2 years of no worky, i cant wait to get my butt out there and work until the baby is due.

Here's to all us job seekers, Good Luck for 07!

  10. Hi all,

I'm sure this has been addressed many times before......

I got my green card a few months ago, and am travelling back to the UK end of this month to visit my family for the whole of august, I cant help worrying that I'll have problems re-entering the USA, even though i've been told I can travel with my conditional green card, so I guess i'm looking for reassurance that i'll have no probs.... Also what documents do I need to present to immigration for re-entry, my passport is in Maiden name, and green card is in Married name? Which line do I get in now, Visitors still or Citizens? Also do I only fill in the Customs form on way back or any other forms do I fill in?

As you can see i'm all panicky and flustered over this :help:

    Thanks in advance

    Rachel
