Couple of questons that I`m sure have been answered before, but I just want to be sure here and now.
1. We`ve paid $380 IV bill to the NVC. When we got info package from the embassy, it said that "You need to pay $380 for your visa at the embassy", no "unless you paid it to NVC" or anything like that.
I am pretty sure we wouldn`t have to pay it again, but just trying to make absolutely sure.
2. About 125% poverty level for the I-864. Is that your total income (line 22 on your 1040) or your Adjusted Gross Income (line 37 on your 1040)? `Cause there`s a difference, that is essencial for me.
Thank you!

Yes, people: about vaccinations. My wife is in US now on K-3 and she`s going back to Russia for IR-1 interview.
The question is: can she do the vaccination thing here in the States (I`m guessing there are physicians authorized for that sort of thing), or it is absolutely essential to do that in the country of origin?

Yodrak, -
that is exactly what I meant.

Thanks, - I was actually talking about the I-864 itself. But I`ll take a look at the thread

Is there a way to find out if your Affidavit of Support is accepted and in the system?
Or receiving DS-230 would be an indication?

Thank you Lorelle, thank you everybody. So, to sum up, one most recent year`s tax transcript should be enough. Still gonna call NVS to make sure, but - yeah, good news!!!

Hello people.
The official instractions to I-864 AOS state that youhave to provide a "Certified copy of completed most recent federal tax return ". Now, this question must have been asked many times before, but still: What does "Certified copy" mean? Is tax transcript qualify for a certified copy, or it still needs to be notarized?
But as I understand, only signed documents can be notirized. And then, don`t they need three most recent tax returnes?

How would I check the I-765 processing times (for K-3, category a) 9), filed to Chicago address), - do they go to National Benefit Center?
And at what point they take your biometrics - before they give you the EAD card or after?
Last time I checked it takes about 3 months at the National Benefit Center to process the EAD application.
That is really sucks!

Well, it`s K-3 actually.
But - thank you all, good luck for the rest of your journey!

I am sorry I `d disappeared, but I just didn`t have any desire to write until this whole mess ended.
We had a temporary denial 221G at the interview on December 20, 2005. The problem was that my 2004 income doesn`t cover
four people (my wife and two children). I was hoping - foolishly, perhaps, - that the collection of my pay stubs and my bank statement along with the Affidavit of Support, where I projected my income for 2005, would be enough to convince them, but apparently I was wrong. They asked for I-864 Affidavit of Support from a sponsor, and I did try to get one, but my friends just didn`t find it possible to make such a commitment (the legal language in that form is very strong, indeed).
So, I wrote to the embassy with a couple of suggestions, and of course they had that long New-Years-Russian-Christmas break,
and finally sent us an e-mail where they said they would accept a copy of my 2005 tax return. Well, - halleluiah, I filed the 2005 return and sent them a copy along with copies of all my pay checks for 2005 by DHL. Two weeks later, Feb.8 I was checking our DHL number on-line, and there it was: the package was sent. It arrived February 10, three passports with visas.
So, it is over.
