Not sure if i posted this is the correct place, but i was wondering. My Fiancee is currently on the L1B visa working here in the USA. It's expired. She's renewing as we speak. We are planning to marry later this year, but would like for her parents to be here first to meet me once.

I'm a full US Citizen born and raised here. We'd love to bring her Mom and Dad over here from India. Is it better than her parent make her a point of contact or me? We've never done this before and we heard some horror stories from friends yesterday with their parents trying to visit the USA from India. Not sure why it's so difficult. One would think you could just apply for a tourist visa and go. But from what we are hearing from other people, apparently the Indian Gov is restricting who leaves and why.

Any help is hugely appreciated as always.

So i have another question. Which form route should we go with the AOS? Is there just a standard AOS or do we need to file something like the I-130? If we do the 1-130 i'm concerned that we don't have comingling of resources. Don't own property and we'd do a city hall wedding. Am i going down the wrong route?

Great, thx folks! The honeymoon thing is a good point. While await AOS status, the Fiancee must stay in the country during that entire process? Good to know.

I'm not sure this is the right forum, but it's in regards to marriage.

So my Fiancee is here in the USA and we are going to apply for AOS. We realize we need to get married. However, we aren't ready to have the big elaborate wedding just yet because we want to save for that. We instead were thinking to just go to city hall and do the legal marriage first and then do an elaborate wedding later.

Is there anything wrong with this? Will doing it this way hurt us at any point during the AOS process? I guess i'm just concerned that USCIS may view it as a sham, because we didn't have the big crazy wedding with all family and friends present.

First time poster. Have gathered all sorts of useful information on this site.

Ok so my question is as follows...

I have an Indian fiancee. She's already in USA and was on a L1B visa for 3 years (Working in tech). It recently expired, but she's allowed to stay while the renewal application is being processed.

We want to get married and start a life here in Boston. What is the fastest route for her to gain permanent residency and eventual green card eligibility? The only two options appear to be K1 Visa, which has a 5 month backlog , or just have her do an adjustment of status based on being a fiancee.

Does anyone have any input for this scenario? It seems that as long as she's here, it'd be faster than doing it while home in India.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
