  1. Got My answer:

    Dear Mr.(ExpatDave):

After the visa applicant has already obtained documents listed in the Packet 3 checklist, the checklist and Packet 3 documents have to be returned to the Immigrant Visa Unit by mail only. Due to the large volume of applicants, the IV Unit does not accept the returned Packet 3 documents by walk-in channel and cannot review the documents prior to the interview appointment. Please returned the Packet 3 documents to this mailing address.

  2. Hi,

I am working on a DCF for my wife here in Thailand. For the I-130 we went to Immigration here in Bangkok and they went though it and we got approval in less than 2 weeks.

Now we are almost done with Packet 3 and I am wondering if we can take the packet directly to the Embassy, or do we have to mail it?

If we bring it in, will someone check it there or will they just take it and say "We will get back to you"?

If I do mail it, Should I make them sign for it?

    Thanks,

    David

  3. My husband documents that I took to the Royal Thai Police with me

1)Copy of his passport (only the page that has photo) he wrote 'certified true copy' and signed, and also he wrote down that he gave permission of using this copy of his passport for requesting a police clearance certificate of me, mrs. .... <--these are not the exact words that he used, but the meaning is something like this

2)Copy of his non-B visa (I think this is only for a case that the USC is working in Thailand)

3)Copy of first page of his work permit (I really can't remember if they took this one or not but yeah I did take it with me)

That was it. Other documents are all mine. You can show your wife this website if she wants to know what documents she has to prepare http://pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/service.php (this detail will also be in your wife's package 3)

    Cheers,

    Great! Thanks for the info.

  4. As long as you have not been convicted of a crime you do not need anything. A speeding ticket or a packing ticket you do not have to show anything. If it is crime bigger then that then you I think you might have to disclose that info. If it is a crime like domestic abuse or something like that it would have to be disclosed. I hope a more experienced member will see and can comment on what type of crimes that would be. If you have been convicted of a crime you might want to talk to a lawyer but I would see what advise you can get here first. Good luck.

    Never been caught :innocent: .

This is great news! I thought I had to send for my criminal records. This will expedite my getting the packet done by weeks.

    Big thanks!

  5. ExpatDave, the petitioner and the beneficiary do not need police reports from the US. The beneficiary only needs it from foreign countries they lived in for more then 6 months. The US government does their own background checks in the US if the person ever lived here. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Sorry to ask for clarification, but are you saying I (U.S. citizen) do not need to show my Criminal background from the U.S.?
