  1. My wife has just became a US Citizens last Spring of 2015 and is in the process of bring her mom and dad here from China. We filed the tax as Married Filing Joint for the past few years so it shows our combined total income in the return tax transcript. Even though I'm making more money than my wife and our total income is way above the 125% poverty guideline, do I need to file the I-864 also or just my wife? My wife is the petitioner for her mom and dad. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

  2. My wife who will be a US Citizen in a couple of month from now want to know if she can apply her brother along with her parents from China. Her brother is currently in school and wonder if that is possible. Is there some rule that allow him to come with her parents at the same time? He is more than 21 years old and still single but still in school in China. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

  3. Ok, tried that, finally got the IV bill to show up today. At first, DS-3032 was generated around June 23rd and they claimed to run into "technical difficulties" at that time and couldn't do anything so it's possible that they forgot to generate it again. So on July 8th, they generated it again and this time it works. This took almost 4 weeks for just a fee bill. Notice that I called every Thursday or Friday only to have the same answer that I will get it by the end of next week 3 times already. I guess the keyword is paitence.... Thanks, folks. Hope this will go smoothly afterward! :-)

  4. I had my wife to OPTIN with the DS-3032 form and NVC got it on June 22nd. I had already paid for the AOS fee and sent out the I-864 last Monday. I called NVC last Wednesday about the status of the IV Application Processing Fees since I'm still waiting to pay for it online. They said they will get the supervisor to try to force the IV bill to me online and they told me to give them 3-5 days. I plan on calling them back on Wednesday since that will be the fifth day. I'm even more surprised that others has gotten the same bill the next day they OPTINed. I wonder what are the chances that they can fix this "so-called computer problem"? What can be done if they still cannot fix something that I think is so simple? I worry that this may drag on too long... Anyone has ever faced this kind of situation before? I have seen the same issue from others but that was like a few years ago.

  5. Thanks, guys, I figure I would just do it if I can start paying for the AOS. I just heard many different things regarding sending out the DS-3032. I remember just when I got the NO2, the letter said to wait 90 days or something and I kept calling until I got the Case number and IIS number also. It took me a couple of weeks to get them. They may say 45 days or 90 days in any applications, I wouldn't take their words at heart. It pays to be more proactive by calling the NVC for status. I had a good experience in talking to them. They are helpful in which I am surprised about that.
