  1. Hi

You can have medical done anytime after getting NVC case number...that should come a week or 10 days after noa2. The medical is good for 6 months(3 months our case)..we got it done a month before interview date just in case of a problem..of course there was..you can make appointment online anytime

    good luck

  2. Hi all

Juliet has finished her 6 month DOT at St Lukes feb. 19. This has cost a small fortune with apartment, travel on weekends, expenses and all but we got through it. She had last culture taken Jan 19 and of course had to wait the 8 weeks for the results...ok fine..they said to call on mar 19 and reschedule remedic(another 9600php..grrr)then. So she called n they say just show up n have medical done..(sounds like progress finally)and they will reschedule interview then. She showed up n was given first day of medical and told to go home without immunizations(the second day)..we had no idea why nor did they say. She was told to call next week n come back for shots.OK..she called n was told to show up anytime so she went back to Manila n went to St Lukes the next morning and was turned away because her papers are processing...sheesh..she was told also her medical was only good for 3 months and that started march 20(her first day of medical) so we got about 9 weeks before medical expires and have to have another one done(another 9600php)..sounds like a pattern? Hopefully monday she gets good news but this timeline is getting close to being not possible...she has 9 weeks to get shots ..interview..wait on visa and then me schedule flights to go pick her up. I would think people going through DOT would have the papers processed knowing when the end is coming..and why only 3 months on medical?..anyone been here and done that?..ohh..and the 2 year window is coming in may..we kept thinking anyday now for a long time but i have to go there regardless if she has visa or not before june...anyway..that is our delema now..hoping for something to go right for once..ingat always

  3. Hi there..sorry you are both going through this and hopefully it will only be the 8 weeks delay for you. For my wife that was not the case. She will be called by St Lukes about when to show up for result...no answeres over the phone will be given. If she gets a call before 6 and a half weeks it is surley bad news(positive result)...I say 6 n a half cos I know a woman that got her negative result that early. All you can do is wait for the call..they will not give updates or results over the phone. As was our case we got a call to report to St Lukes at the 3 and a half week point(she tested negative right after the 3 days)they did not tell her over the phone why. Turns out her culture tested positive and she had to start 6 month DOT at ST Lukes(she is 4 hour bus trip from Manila).I had to rent her an apartment there so she could recieve daily meds..in 2 weeks she will be done with meds n hopefully we get on with interview(we applied aug 2011) As for the 95% negative results thing I have no idea...there are many there going through DOT right now. She will need your encouragement and support now as she will be hearing stories of how others have been dumped at this point...again..I am sorry you and her are going through this.Hopefully 8 weeks pass quickly and she is cleared..it is all about patience and faith at this point...anything else feel free to ask..ingat lagi

  4. I am hoping the best for you,the three day sputum collection and results will take at the very least 6 n a half weeks...i heard one patient get negative results in 6 weeks. They will not tell you results till then and not over the phone, they will call and she has to go there for results...a early call..3 or 4 weeks is always a positive result and they will start 6 months DOT then. My wife is currently in her 5th month of treatment..almost over now..whew. St Lukes will postpone your appointment and reschedule it when they give clearance...hopefully this is just a false alarm for you n will be just a couple months of more waiting..I have no idea about the odds of being positive or not..if 95 or 99 percent then I guess we were the unlucky ones but it would have never been cured and now it is and she will be healthy. A little patience and encouragement to her will go along way now..the other women there will tell her stories of how they got dumped at this point cos the petionor didnt want to deal with all this..be positive and supportive...worst case scenerio...8 months and she will have to move to manila..best outcome is 6 and a half or 8 weeks then go to interview..good luck

  5. Looks like Juliet has to stay in Manila 6+ months..test positive for TB..she has a roomie from this site also taking treatment..just wondering if anyone knows of apt. there to lease? Are they gonna lease to 2 TB patients? I hear of dormatories there..dont know a thing about them...thanks for any help

  6. Thanks Tahoma...it seem she dont qualify for the waiver. You have to have had interview first..makes sense..the treatment at home is a huge delay..like starting over..looks like slec is the only option..Rich?..have you found somewhere for your wife to stay?..splitting cost and have some company sounds like a good idea..slec=6 months..home treatment = 18 months..still 6 months treatment but huge delay on getting a interview

  7. Juliet tested positive for TB..they did say that she could recieve treatment at home..not sure of the details yet on that. Has anyone ever done the I-601 Medical Waiver? It does allow treatment to be done here in the states...even TB. You must get a doctor here to sign off that they will start treatment after 30 days of arrival...sorry bout the bad news Rich

  8. She was given evaluation..after three sputum collected the result was negative. They said because of x-ray that she had to have further testing..I personally know of a person that got called at 6 weeks and was cleared..my wife has never had symtoms of TB. Any possibility of this being treated in the States?

  9. Thanks for replies..i have heard that reciently SLEC has let patients do the treatment in the home town of the patient. You have to report to SLEC once a month..i have heard this from a visa agent..guess will know for sure aug 14..will i be notified of the possibility that i may have it too? This has devastated Juliet..we are still holding out hope as the actual time for sputum culture is 3 to 4 weeks..i find it odd that Rich's wife n mine get same call n same report date after 4 weeks

  10. Hi all

Juliet recieved a call from SLEC and was told to return tuesday..aug 14..this will be the 4th week of her sputum culture test..can this be anything but bad news? Is it possible to have negative result in 4 weeks? If positive is there a type of TB that can be treated in the US or is it the 6 month treatment there? She is very afraid now..it seems this has been one problem after another..trying to be hopeful but this doesn't look good.

    thanks for any reply

  11. Thanks for the info..where online can I reschedule interview?..this bout killed her though..many there with her told of the horror stories of how guys left after finding about delay. Lot's of reassuring later she is ok

  12. Hello all..is this the 8 week delay I have been reading about? She has to return to SLEC for 3 day test. And also does SLEC inform embassy that interview date is going to reschedule or go anyway?

  13. Hi

Im an august filer too.It seems that english speaking countries with strong ties to U.S. get done quicker. Also those with spouse in Phils may get a little more scrutiny than others..also if petitioner is in the military that would be an easy background check..they are getting the easy ones out of the way while others take more time..just my thoughts..hope it comes soon..good luck

  14. Hi again

I was assured by everyone that there was no problem or anything illeagle...and being my first marriage..I had no clue about necesary papers...I went by what the people in the office told me.We applied for license on june 2..I am well aware..at least now I am..of the laws and validity of our marriage..the certificate has been cleared and is in my wifes hands....guilty of ignorence...sure..just wondering if there is a way to fix this
