  1. Maybe you're right, I sponsored my husband so I had to submit my tax return anyway.

Even so, questioning someone about a disability is dangerous territory. I realize that immigration officers must have more freedom (and less fear of getting sued) than the rest of us, but I would think they'd find other things to question you on instead.

To be clear, in saying that my guess is that your age difference would raise a red flag, I wasn't trying to say that I personally thought it was a problem. Just an area that I would expect you to be questioned on.

I'm 9 years older than my husband, and fully expect it's going to be questioned. :(

can u share what was asked about the age difference, if u may? tnx

  2. ... she has been here 7 months... still as tiny as ever apart from the pregnancy. She didn't start gaining weight until the last month. She weighed 80 pounds when she got here, and in February weighed 80 pounds....between February and now she has only gained 15 pounds. All 15 pounds are pregnancy weight. :pop:

She does not eat hamburgers, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, american spaghetti, lasagna, pizza, red beans and rice, soups, or drink milk. :girlwerewolf2xn:

She mainly eats rice, vegetables, pencit, shrimp, chicken, mangoes, bananas, coconut milk and drink water, sometimes sprite. She does like Tom Kai Gui as well. Plus she eats grilled steak and pork when I cook it. she also likes corn dogs. she likes cookie crisp, and cocoa puffs to eat without milk.

She tried a dill pickle. How I wish I had my camera on me at the time. the face was amazing.... she was not expecting something that sour. The "family" has bread and butter pickles at their house. I mainly have dill pickles, sweet relish, and sweet gherkins. (When I worked in the fast food chains, I loved to eat dill pickles for a snack.)

One thing we talk about a lot is the smell of food. Her food does not always smell good to me. As I am sure my food does not always smell good to her. I told her this is what we are accustomed to. You grew up with different cooking styles, and different methods of cooking food. Your styles were to deal with the fact of no storage or refrigeration. While the style here reflects it. There is also more spices used here in America then in her village. This is reflected in how things smell. vinegar, soy sauce are not typical things we cook with. I tell her that her food is good. However, I don't most of it because it does not smell good to me. It is not that I don't want to eat her food. It is because the smell is not something I associate with good food, but I am trying to learn the smell. :goofy:

   am laughing as i read ur post...my husband doesnt like the smell of my food too and the way i cook coz most of the time i go for steaming (like just putting the vegs on top of the newly cooked rice) and dip in vinegar..the only food i cook that he likes is sotanghon guisado and siomai...fish heads? he'll run hahahhaha...

  3. Hello VJ members

Im filipina living and residing here in Philippines

who was married before in american guy who cheated on me

and he file divorce in USA and it was granted by the court there and he got married to his new wife

    never been there anyway

i got it authenticated from Phil Embassy in USA (his new wife did and helped me)

but since we are married here in philippines its not valid and i am not capable to marry someone else since divorce is not recognized by Philippine law

so i didnt marry but have new bf online again as of this moment

and plan to meet this year or early next year depend on savings and vacation leave :) which i understand

back to my ex husband he died last yr of Aug 2011 due to lung cancer at the age of 55

which claims me as widowed here in the Philippines (as far as i know and people think)

since i am still his legal wife here in Philippines but according to his death cert his new wife is the wife as it is

stated in death cert as informant but i have cenomar marriage cert that proves that we get married and under our law im his wife here i have a copy of his death cert that sent to me by his new wife but i asked for a certified copy from his niece and she helped me and my bf in arizona is willing to help me to get it authenticated there..

    now my question is this

if my bf file for k1 visa does my cenomar marriage cert and death cert is enough as proof of evidence that i am capable to re-marry someone or do i need to include the divorce paper? to prove that he got divorce in me so he marry someone else.

and regarding with my passport im still using his surname do i need to revert back to my single name

or just as is? (was thinking that could be a proof to that ive been married to my ex hubby)

or do i need to change it back to single name?

i have a daughter from another guy (not my ex husband) but another guy after i got divorce from my ex husband and shes using my single name not my married name since thats not his father and also shes using my last name because his father didnt sign the papers for the process of birth certificate ;) would this cause alot of trouble since we want to bring her with me :)

    so heres the current situation

i have passport using my married name to my ex husband which will expire on 2013 of sept

my daughter is using my single name which i want to get her passport soon

i have divorce decree authenticated by Phil embassy in USA

and soon death Cert authenticated by Phil Embassy in USA

i know my current situation is kinda complicated ;)

but i hope you can help me

thanks and god bless us all...

hi there..it's best for u to bring ur divorce papers and death certificate of ur exhusband to ur nearest nso office to clear ur doubts.. i think nobody here could answer ur questions exactly coz nobody here works with the nso...nso is the proper office handling these matters in the phils...

  4. My wife is bringing her parents here to live. They are in Russia. The process is going fine, but we're concerned about the medical exam and the required vaccinations. The Dept. of State web site has a LONG list of vaccinations they may or may not be required to have. This is at:

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1331.html

According to this web site, the examining physician will determine, based on their age, health, medical history, etc., which vaccinations to require. They are both in their 70's. Can anyone give an idea of which ones they will most likely require?

    Thanks so much,

    Ron M.

hi..am nearing 60 and my vaccines are all not age appropriate coz some vaccines are not appropriate for those born before 1957..

  5. hi...ur son is illegitimate meaning either only the mothers or fathers name is on his bc. if in ur case only ur name is in the bc then u dont need travel permit..but then if its the mothers name is on his bc then u should need a permit ...my daughter flew with her child without travel permit..

  6. The OP has come asking for specific advice about filing to adjust her status. She has shared some of the extenuating circumstances that relate to questions she has filling out the forms. Thank you to those who have taken the time to respond to Murysa's questions. For those of you who wish to challenge her veracity, please keep your comments to yourself. Visa Journey is supposed to be a forum to provide assistance and support, not to make judgmental personal attacks because you don't like the circumstances that have been presented. If there is a problem with the truth, USCIS is the appropriate one to determine this. I have read over this thread and I have no difficulty in believing the truth of Murysa's situation. Some of us would perhaps manage things differently if we were in her situation, but that's the thing, none of us are and the best assistance you can offer is to help her with her questions - or not post in this thread at all.

Any further negative, critical or judgmental comments will result in a thread ban for the poster. I am leaving this thread open as Murysa still appears to have some questions with which she needs assistance. So, either provide the requested assistance, or do not participate.

    u're right...

  7. My son is 5 yrs old and and was approved for US Citizenship and will be receiving his US Passport in about 2 weeks. He already has his Philippine Passport. I was told he will need a Travel Clearance from DSWD in order to fly out of the Country. This will be his first time to travel out of the Philippines.

Now here is the problem i have. I went to DSWD to inquire since im still waiting for my son's passport to arrive and they told me he does not need a Travel Clearance since he has a US passport and that's what i will present upon exit at the airport imigration. I did inform them that my son is an iligitamate child since me and his mom is not married. But they insisted that no Travel Clearance is needed. BUT according to the DSWD website all iligitamate children traveling with the father requires a Travel clearance from DSWD.

SO WHO DO I BELIVE? The DSWD website or the DSWD People who work there? Which is correct of the two?

I dont want to be leaving with my son and run into a problem with the airport immigration at the last minute and miss our flight to the US, that would be very costly becuse the tickets i have can not be changed to a different date anymore. Its eaither we fly at that moment or i buy 2 more tickets again If somthing goes wrong and we miss our flight and thats unexceptable.

So who should i speak to regarding this contradiction?

If anyone has any answers to this please help or any numbers i can call to get the right answers.

    Thank you.

hi there..if mother is unknown or left blank in ur sons bc then no need to secure a travel permit when the child leaves the country with you, the father..otherwise if the mother is known then get a travel permit to avoid problem in boarding...this happened to me.. govt/mssd wants to avoid child trafficking/kidnapping..hope this helps

  9. Hello all, I have a question about RFEs and receiving a small extension on the time limit I have to respond to it.

USCIS lost my medical exam and as soon as I got notice of this, I called the only civil surgeon in my area and scheduled a new medical exam. I scheduled it for May 15th (and I scheduled this over a month ago, so they must be busy) and my RFE response is due June 8th.

Now the medical office is telling me I need to have the TB and syphillis test done BEFORE my medical and those results can take up to three weeks and WITHOUT them, they can't do the medical. I'm scrambing to find someone who will do these tests for me, but nobody's calling me back, so I'm getting worried.

Am I able to extend my RFE time in case they don't get these results in time? This feels completely out of my control and I'm in a bit of a panic.

    Thanks in advance.

im also from wisconsin..i did my tb test in my county for only $10..my shyphillis test in planned parenthood for $45 in one week's time got my result...all the results were faxed to my civil surgeon then when the scheduled time to see the doc it's all set

That is the Filipino culture. Tyey raise their children, sacrifice for their education all the way through college and the children put back into the household when they get a job. It is unreasonable for you to think that a person marrying a Filipina should not do anything for the family. We are taking one of their bread winners from them that they have sacrificed a lot for. A set amount should be agreed upon with no miscellaneous expenses popping up on a frequent basis. Yes the Filipina wife could work and send money home to help her family since she can make a lot more here in the U.S. even working at a fast food chain, but should also contibute to her household here in the U.S.. When you make statements, just be aware that their culture may be different form yours. I wan to marry a Filipina and I know what comes with it. I didn't go into it with my eyes closed.

Now as how much I send to my Fiancée and her family, it is $330.00 a month. That is because I choose to give her and her family a support allowance of $250.00 a month and the rest is for internet and cable TV that I offered to pay for. She or her family have never approached me and asked me for any money. I make a good salary, got a 12% salary increase for my recent promotion in August 2011, so what I send does not hurt me. I was blessed with a good promotion and it came at the right time for a reason. What I send to her and her family is a small price to pay for my happiness and her peace of mind that I love and care for her family and they are taken care of. When she comes to the U.S. and we marry, she will not work as we are trying to have children soon and I informed her that she did not have to work and I would send the allowance to her family. My fiancée’s family is not lazy. Her father is a police officer who will retire in the next two years and makes roughly 17,000PHP, which is roughly $405.00 a month. She has four younger siblings, an older sister and her mother doesn't work because she is raising the children while papa is at work and they are responsible for paying on her and her sister’s student loans and board certification for her older sisters accounting tests that she had to take 3 times before finally passing and the ongoing education expenses for her younger siblings. The average working Filipino is lucky to make 400PHP ($8.00 USD) a day. So I don't have a problem with my financial responsibility if it will help support her family and make their life a little easier. Living in the Philippines for most Filipinos who are not educated or do not have skill sets to get a good paying job, is very hard. Some families are lucky just to have rice, small bananas and salted fish to eat to stay alive. Now granted some families will take advantage when their daughter is married to a foreigner because they look at us be rich. Most of us aren't but we have a better lifestyle than most Filipinos who are poor. One thing I will say in conclusion is that even though a lot of Filipino families are poor, they are happy with what they have and would even offer you the last food they have if you visited them. I am proud that my wife is Filipina, I love her family and I will retire in the Philippines as soon as I reach retirement age. I guess I just love the Philippines, their culture and family values. I am american, but I consider mysely pinoy also. Just my two cents worth.

  11. hi everyone..pls i need ur help..came to US in 2010 to meet my US citizen bf then sept.2011 came back to visit him again..he got sick and hospitalized in nov. so we decided to get married in dec..im supposed to leave last jan.16 this year but my I-94 is until march 21 yet so i decided to rebook my travel date to march 15 to have more time for each other..we cry each day as my departure date is getting closer... we dont want to be away from each other anymore..i worry he will have panic attacks again which i know its been months since im here that he didnt have by it..i know its really depressing for both of us..whats best i could do? tnx for sharing ur views

3.i did fill up the g-325a from

then i send it to my hubby..after that my hubby send our case to uscis..hope it kinds help to you..

hi..may i know why u changed ur name in passport after marriage? were u married and got annulled? tnx

  13. hi...the interviewer is interested to know if theyre not married coz the back of the childs birth certificate is possibly signed and acknowledged by the father. in the phils once the father acknowledges that the child is his own he has the also the authority over the child...so when the child has to leave with her mother to the US or anywhere outside the country she should secure a travel permit from the dept. of social services and development authorizing her to bring the kid with her and the father will issue a permit for his child to allow and accompany the mother...this is so to avoid human trafficking.....i hope this helps

  14. I have been on VJ viewing various posts for over eight months now. In that time I think I have read every post regarding interviews to try and get my sweetie ready for anything. Well today we got blindsided by two different items that I have never heard of anyone else being asked or requested of.

Here is the background to the two items before I tell you what they are. First of all she is a single mom of a 6 y/o boy. She dated the kid's dad for a short time and they were never married. He has provided well the boy so she never has had any issues raising him. They have always been in contact so it was easy to get the dad's release so she can bring the boy to the States with her. The letter of release is signed and notorized. The second issue is that she has done very well for herself. She has had several good paying jobs that have lead her to buy her own house. She now owns and operates her own business that pays all her bills plus she helps an employee go to college and she helps support the rest of her family. With that said I have never had to support her from the States. I have only sent her money on occassion mainly as a gift to get a facial or massages. I have sent her money to cover all the expenses for the K1 process, medical, interview, flights and hotel to Manila.

OK with that being said her interview was today (yesterday in PI). She had a 6:30 and 6:40 appointment (don't know why the K2 was separate) Her name wasn't called until about 11. She got through the first interview just fine and only took a couple minutes. Now this my sound negative but the US portion of the interview was with an older Chinese/American guy. The interview took about 15 minutes with many questions. He got hung up on two items. One the interviewer wanted to see how I was supporting her now and why I wasn't sending money over to her. He wanted to see receipts from money transfers. She tried to explain the she was self supporting and didn't need my help while she was in PI. So she now is going to try and get printouts from PayPal and Western Union. Now here is the strange on. The interviewer wanted to see a Cenomar from her childs father. HUH?!?!?! I thought all we needed was a letter from the childs father. He also wanted to know the father's mom's madian name, cell phone number, place of birth, and a few other items. Has anyone run into this?

I am just venting right now but these two items seemed very unusual. We are still waiting for the results. If we don't get the visa I will be calling over there and or my congress person. I thought this experience may help others. My fiance had to catch an early flight out so I have not heard the final results yet. She had to go back to the Embassy at 1:30 for a follow up.

  15. A lot of people don't have the I-94 (Green) removed from their passports on departure. However, the airlines have a record of you leaving on their manifest so it should be fine. :)

thank u so much for ur answer..clears my mind

  16. hello everyone..i hope u can help me with this. i entered states sep5/10 and left nov 15/10 as scheduled.. arrived phils nov 16/10 but i just recently noticed that my I-94 departure record wasnt detached by airline personnel when i boarded the plane during my fight back to the phils. nevertheless i immediately mailed it last june 16 to cbp, london kentucky the address given in the website.i also have copies on hand of all papers i sent to them. will this cause me a problen or will i be turned over for second questioning in the poe since i plan of visiting again the states this year? thank u

  17. hi everyone...im new here and i want to ask this question. i just noticed theres a piece of paper stapled/attched to my passport and its a part of form OMB 1651-0111. i read the back and it has to be surrendered. i left the US last nov. 16, 2010. what will i do with this since i read the back that failure to do so may delay entry to US in the future and am planning to see the US in summer this year.. tnx so much for early reply and more power
