@ f1junkie Well its about time!!!!!
(for Jamaicans) guys I think for the medical Andrews Hosp was a pleasant experience.I chose them for a number of reasons 1. i called Med. Assoc. twice and got a different amount $$ each time (which made me weary) while Andrews was able to tell me right there and then $12,600 2. just from the mere answer of the phone at Andrews I knew I was in for quality service (polite and professional) 3.I was told it was an all day process (however first come first served) got there about 7:20am thinking i was early since registration starts at 9:00 but i had about 15persons ahead of me,everything was done i was out there by 1:15 and finally everyone there from the security to the doctors were all friendly.
I am told that with the other Hosp the docs still see there regular patients in between each US medical which makes it a longer waiting period.

Well, the tracking number says everything was re-delivered on the 19th, but I haven't heard anything else yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and trying not to panic yet lol. Thanks for asking javisakid!

Hey guys Visa Buletin is out and F1 has moved to 1 October 2006, which is not shocking to me. I think we all expected this. Looking forward to hearing about interview letters received at the end of this month. Javisakid and those in October good luck to you all!!!!

"Descendants" sounds very scary to me. Perhaps "future friends and colleagues" might be a good replacement.
But what a cool idea! It might even involve traveling around and going to the beaches, and places I've never been before. (I was just saying to someone how incredibly beautiful Portland is.) I'm not yet in Jamaica, but that'll be a great final adventure to do just before my interview.
    You win the idea war.

Javisakid, what about balance at the bank? My sponsor is a retired person. So, no income at all. At the interview, I provided the Embassy people with IFS (hope I still got the document name correct) and a bank statement giving the petitioner's balance amount.

Javisakid that seemed to not be an issue. There were a number of people that had a similar issue when I was there to be interviewed. The interviewer just ask for new affidavit of support and a copy of either green card, naturalization cert or passport and new tax returns.
If you don't have it at the time of interview then they simply give you a form with it circled and you bring them it at a later date.

OK. I'm tired of seeing people using affirmative words to describe something that is currently completely unknown.
" ... congress WILL pass the CIR in xxx..."
" .... VB WILL move fast in xxx"
".... F4 immigration WILL be repealed in xxx"
" ..... VB WILL advance XXX months in XXX"
Guys, listen: If you are predicting something that may or may not happen in the future, do not use affirmative sentences like "will", "for sure", etc. You are simply spreading unrealistic optimism & pessimism that may or may not be the case. In other words, you are doing nothing but spreading unconfirmed, undocumented rumor that is likely to cause great panic and misjudgment for other forum members.
Nobody on this forum has the capability of predicting future events. Even the officers and staff at NVC or State Department won't make any prediction or judgement without proper knowledge on a specific subject.
If you want to convey some news & information from other news source, CITE THEM, just like you are writing an academic paper where you need to cite and do reference list for all sources that you used.

True, but have their lives really been any better for it? Yes, they've been IN America, but they haven't been able to move freely or go back home to visit friends and family, for wedding and funerals etc.
They've probably had to take poorly paid "cash in hand" jobs.
The constant looking over your shoulder in case immigration is there...not for me!
Although the process is slow, we still have an advantage over many, many people who would love to start a new life in the US but will never have the opportunity to do so.

With one paragraph, you've nicely summarised how I feel about the last seven years of my life. A little comfort, at least, to know someone else knows and shares exactly how I've been feeling.
Also: "rubbish" is so typical Brit-speak, of course. I love it!

Black pepper is too tame; chop up some scotch bonnet and we'll talk. Yeah, I know my stuff! I may be British my my roots are from JA!
I don't do all that hard food though...boiled dumplings and green banana are too stodgy for me...you can keep them!
