Well, no screaming yet lol. Adjustment of status takes around 4 months on average. If you live in a busy center like Florida or New York, it might take even longer. But what is a few months compared to years? Keeping my fingers crossed
By the way, I got news from Loudoff, he was also doing adjustment of status and he had his interview yesterday and got approved!
So happy for you!! Immigration party here we go!

Guys, I just wanted to tell you all that I picked up my package at DHL this afternoon, at exactly 4:57 PM (three minutes before they closed).! It took just two days to get my visa since it was issued. I never expected I'd be out of here only four days after my interview. I booked my flight, which leaves to NYC tomorrow morning. I've set like six alarms to make sure I wake up. (My flight is at 6 am.)
I'll still be lurking around from time to time, to see how the rest of the gang is keeping on. But things are moving along, and what was once a dream has now finally become a reality. You all will get to share the feeling of finally becoming a Permanent Resident of the USA! Woohoo!
All the best to all my VJ crew!

@ javisakid So glad you got through ok . They did not ask for the updated tax records from the petitioner in my case either and
I left it alone.I got my package delivered to me in 8 business days/10 week days .
LOL yea like me, I see you did not become a victim of the hustle and basically set your own rate .
Btw you always manage to crack me up,you might just be the only one who with all the anxiety thats going on found the time to ask
    the "beautiful lady" her name.

@ javisa kid...Re phones,I left mine on the outside with one of the guys. They seem to have a pretty organized system where they have 2 tickets, one ticket is placed in a plastic bag containing your items and the other you keep in order to retrieve your stuff when the interview is done(the tickets have serial numbers which ensures no one is given the wrong bag,it also has the name and tele # of the person with whom you are leaving your items).
Anyway, having said that I took the oldest/least expensive phone I had just in case of any misfortune (hint, hint) but I had no trouble. Anyway,I gave the guy $300.00
Now about the Immunization Rec. mine has the same (history incomplete, eligible for waiver ....) dont think its anything to be worried about because the doctor advised the vaccines course could be completed overseas if you are leaving before the next dosage becomes due.I still have not gone to get the other shot (dont think its going to happen either since the time frame was 4-8wks after the 1st,oh well. Yea,anyway I dont think that Immigration will be asking to see my Immunization Rec.

The visa that was stamped in your passport at the border is the legal equivalent of a green card, allowing you to do all the things the actual card itself would allow you to do. It's like an interim green card. So if you travel to Canada you will have absolutely no problems reentering. Regarding you not getting your actual green card yet, simply call the USCIS.

Leo7777, this topic has F1 in its title because it refers to a particular preference category, or ranking, for those people waiting for an immigrant visa on the basis of family relations. It has nothing to do with an F (dash) 1 visa, which is different. You may be interested in this (taken from the website for the Department of State):
    FAMILY-SPONSORED PREFERENCES
First: (F1) Unmarried Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens: 23,400 plus any numbers not required for fourth preference.
Second: Spouses and Children, and Unmarried Sons and Daughters of Permanent Residents: 114,200, plus the number (if any) by which the worldwide family preference level exceeds 226,000, plus any unused first preference numbers:
    A. (F2A) Spouses and Children of Permanent Residents: 77% of the overall second preference limitation, of which 75% are exempt from the per-country limit;
    B. (F2B) Unmarried Sons and Daughters (21 years of age or older) of Permanent Residents: 23% of the overall second preference limitation.
Third: (F3) Married Sons and Daughters of U.S. Citizens: 23,400, plus any numbers not required by first and second preferences.
Fourth: (F4) Brothers and Sisters of Adult U.S. Citizens: 65,000, plus any numbers not required by first three preferences.

What's issued after your immigrant interview is an Immigrant Visa, not the green card. This visa is valid for 6 months, within which time you can enter US. At the moment of entering the US, you become a permanent resident. Not before. Your actual green card is issued to you about two to three weeks after you enter the US, but while you wait for it to arrive, you are still a permanent resident.
You can marry at any time AFTER YOU ENTER US and become a permanent resident, but NOT BEFORE landing in the United States. So, in short, ONCE YOU ARRIVE in the United States you can marry, even if you don't yet have the actual GC in hand. Don't make the mistake of marrying before you land in the states. It will mess things up. But, you're also free to return to your home country shortly afterwards to marry there, if you chose.

I'm really, genuinely happy for you. You have no idea. We've all shared in the ups and downs of the journey together that it feels like a brother who's finally going. I truly wish you all the very best.
I'm going to Jamaica next Sunday and my medical is on Monday. I now carry the torch of your journey.
What state will you be in? We should have a drink or link up to say hello.
