  1. Hello everyone,

I have been told that i should change everything that says 5 years in to 3 years in the n400 form if i am filing based on marriage.

    I am confused about part 6 & part 7

Do i have to write my residency and employment information for last 5 or 3 years?

Also Time out side the US is it for 5 years or 3 years?

I just want to make sure before i complete the form.

A lawyer wants 400 to fill this form up for me

    Thank you

  2. I have the same problem. I am a full time student, in my final year to graduate and i am not working. My husband has been frequently loosing jobs and was not able to find one easily. Specially last year and we have filed jointly the last year taxes, but his income was below poverty. We have been living on my savings. Its time for us to send in i-751 paper work. I am really worried if that will affect how they will treat our case.

I understand authorities wanting to see evidences of couples being married, but why it has to be tied so strongly by assets. To have some evidences, like car owner ship, life insurance or health insurance or having vaccation it all costs money. What about people that can't afford but they have other solid evidences like lease, affidavicts from friends and family etc. I mean at this point me being a student and my husband wanting to go back to school next semester, we are still building our careers. I am so worried, its not fair. :(

Please help, if i should submit those low income taxes or not.

  3. Me and my husband have filled taxes for last 3 years. But we are always on the border of poverty line. This year 2010 taxes are below poverty line. I am a fulltime student and i am not working. My husband has been loosing jobs frequently and was having trouble finding one easily. Specially last year with this economy. But we have not claimed for unemployment or anything in last 2 years though.

So my question is, Being on or below poverty line tax returns, can make them call us for interview? what if i don't submit them atall? Would i do good if i don't submit or i submit? I am really worried after reading posts, that taxes are the most important evidence they are looking for. I got financial aid for school, will that also have an affect on how they gonna handle my case? Please help, what is best to do?

    Thank you very much
