I'm sure this has been on here a million times but I'm going to ask anyway.
I'm surprising my husband and sending him home for a short visit to see his family. I found a really great price on a flight from Indy to Belfast.
He has his 2 year greencard and we will be filing for his 10 year in about 3 months. (expires in August)
My question is what documents will he need to travel? Is it just his passport and greencard?
Just checking to be sure.
Thanks a bunch

Wow that sounds familiar. It took us 3 trips to one office and each time they ask for something different. I asked for a supervisor but he wasn't anymore informed than the others. I finally snapped. Told them what I thought and left. I went the very same day to another office in a different town, gave them what they asked for and had all the paperwork done in less than 5 minutes.
Sometimes the answer is as simple as changing locations.
Best wishes,

Hi everyone.
Been a very long time since I've been on here. I hope everyone is doing great. I was wonder if someone could help me out? I am trying to write a paper for one of my classes..... (yeah, the old hag went back to college)
I'm looking for an article or editorial where the author has gross misinformation about immigration in it. Like someone saying all you have to do to get a greencard is marry a US citizen. Anything where is it obvious that author knows nothing about immigration. I did find one but it was from 2006. I've been searching for 3 days and I'm about to give up.
Yeah I already looked on here.
Thanks a bunch,
Vicky

Hey.........be sure to visit their website and sign their petition for an animal control officer. Putnam county needs one in the worst way.
My daughter was bitten by a stray dog about a month ago and is still going through the rabies shots. They are not as painful as they used to be but are very very expensive. When it's all over and done with in June it cost almost $4,000. We have dogs dumped on us all the time because we live out in the country. People won't take them to the humane society because they charge them $25.00. Or they tell them they don't have room to take them.

Thanks Colleen
Yeah you would think the break would be nice but every time we get through one hurdle, I think about what is next. ha ha ha
Hey I just realized something. It took longer to get the greencard than it did to get the waiver approved.
5 months for the waiver and 8 for AOS.
Hope things are going great for you.

Oh by the way........anyone know what this is (or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. ) Just wondering.

Hey that's great news that your complete now. I remember when we found out we were complete but still had to wait on the letter. It's soooooooooooo nerve wrecking.
I'm not sure where you are from but my husband was in Northern Ireland and it took about a week to get our letter. If your in Great Britian I would think it would only take a couple of days. Hang in there and hope your letter contains the Best of news.

Congrats to you both. Now spread some of that positive mojo our way. We want our greencard too. lol

Hang in there people.
London does slow down about this time of year. We filed our waiver In April of last year and it took us over 20 weeks to get an approval. It comes in sperts and sputters and it's soooooooooo nerve wrecking.

Hi there,
My husband also had to file I-601 in London and was approved for a K-1 visa. We are in the middle of our AOS. He received his EAD but we are still waiting on the Green card. We filed in January of this year and our case was transferred to California. I'm assuming we are waiting on our name check like several other people.
I've been told that once your waiver is approved is should cause no problems or delays for your AOS. More than likely you will endure the same problems as everyone else.
Good luck and best wishes,
Baileyj

Hang in there Irish. We filed in January and still haven't heard anything on the AOS. I did send out an email a few weeks ago. I gave up receiving a response but after about a week they did send me an email saying they didn't respond to emails anymore. lol
Best wishes,
Baileyj

Congrats to you and yours. It's nice to be able to breath again I'm sure. It's not been so long since we got our approval but now it seems like forever ago.
Best wishes,

CONGRATS TO YOUR AND YOUR HUSBAND!! It's a wonderful feeling. Enjoy every minute.

Well you can be happy if you don't like being interviewed. That's about the only difference that I know of. People that get transferred to California usually don't get interviewed. It doesn't seem to speed things up though. You still have to go through the name check. We filed in January and not heard anything yet. We did get our EAD about a month ago but no touches on the AOS since it was transferred. At least he can work while we are waiting.
Keep happy,

Hi!
Me and my wife are expecting a baby in September. Since I can not work (due to not having my work permit yet) we are considering my wife going on WIC. My question is if my wife being on WIC can affect my AOS process somehow?
Hi
I remember this topic in another thread. Try searching in the "Moving here and your new life in America" section. I'm on my way to work and don't have time to look it up for you. If I remember correctly it was Ok to use WIC but have a look and see what you come up with. You can also try searching the WIC website. I think that is where I found the information.

Congrats!!! Enjoy the feeling and celebrate lots.

Hey I'm too lazy to go back and read this whole thread to see if this has been posted yet.............but........... If anyone is interested, Aer Lingus has some deals going on and also added direct flights to more cities in the US. Washington DC, Orlando, and San Francisco to Dublin.
Check out their site.

Our letter was in the mail when we got home last night. I thought it a bit strange, our letter was sent from our local office in Indianapolis. I thought it would come from CA since we sent our application there. Doesn't really matter, just glad this part seems to be over with. Until the next step.
Congrats to everyone else who got notification. Hope it continues for everyone.
Thanks,
