Just a quick question for Australians leaving before the end of the financial year. How do we go about lodging our tax returns for the 2011/2012 financial year? Do we have to do an early one or can you just do it using their online system (I think its ETax) while you are in America?
Thanks!

Hah, checked my email after writing here, I got an interview on May 1 as well.
If you write to them asking them to bring it forward, do they generally do it?

I was looking through all the other posts seeing if anyone else was waiting a long time, thanks for the reassurance! My packet 3 was received by them on the 20th of March, so i'm just over 3 weeks waiting at the moment. So frustrating when we've already been waiting so long :\

On January 18, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
After filing on July 25, I received my email notification that my application has been approved!! I just want to say thank you so much to everyone here, I didn't post all that much but reading through all the different experiences everyone is having really helped me through the hardest part, the god awful wait!
Now on to the second stage

My NOA 1 date is July 25, have heard nothing at all. :\ no request for evidence or anything like that. As it's coming up to 6 months at the end of January, we are thinking about planning a short trip for me to go over to America for a visit. We haven't seen each other in about 10 months now and it's getting a little ridiculous. I thought having to wait 5 months was bad enough!!
EDIT: We have filed at the CSC, but it looks like they are having the same problem...

I'm a NZ citizen living in Australia too, we got our NOA1 on the 25th of July and haven't heard anything either. :\ It's getting hard going so long without hearing anything, I get the impression that all we can really do is wait it out. But I definitely know how you feel!

Okay, that seems a lot easier than trying to do it before I go. It would have been a nightmare trying to get early payment summaries from employers! Thanks
