She has interview like 10 min with CO and she was done.

November 10 Interview Date.

congratulation Dev. You are one step to go. I think you did not get on your expected time cuz of all Indian holiday.

My detailed interview review

We stayed at Hotel Shalimar which is about three minutes away from consulate .I grabbed a cab and got to the consulate at 7:15am.

There was a long queue. The interview time doesn’t mean anything if you get a chance go to consulate early.

One guy asked everyone to keep their passport and interview letter handy. After security check I was given a wooden token. security staff were pretty ruthless. I went inside the consulate; stand in another queue for fingerprints. I gave my fingerprints and sat there for a while till my name was called.I went in window number 5. She was a middle aged Indian lady

She returned a bunch of documents to me which was not needed and started asking me questions in Gujarati

• Who is the joint sponsor?
  
• My father in law
  
• Where is your wife right now?
  
• She is waiting for me at the hotel
  
• Is she here in Mumbai?
  
• Yes
  
• If necessary the officer will asked you to call her here

Then I sat in waiting lounge, talked with other applicants and had few cups of coffee.

And almost after 2 hours my name was called. This time I went to window 9.

• CO: Hello how are you?
  
• I am fine and how are you?
  
• CO: I’m fine
  
• She asked me to raise my right hand and take the oath.
  
• CO: When did you get married?
  
• On xyz date
  
• CO:Was it love marriage or arrange?
  
• CO: Where is your wife?
  
• She is waiting for me at the hotel. I had inquired consulate yesterday that if she is allow coming inside the consulate with me but they told me that she is not allowed.
  
• CO: Oh Ok
  
• CO: How long she has been living with you ?
  
• 14 months
  
• She whispered I am not quite sure about her domicile
  
• She asked me a dozen questions about my wife being here in India for almost 14 months.I was well prepared for that and explain her everything
  
• CO: Ok I’m believing what you are telling
  
• CO: Where is your FIL?
  
• USA
  
• CO: Where does he work?
  
• He works at ………………as……………………
  
• CO: How many brother and sister does your wife have?

• YES. I passed three photo albums to her. She was looking the marriage pics and suddenly asked me

Later she asked me about our trip to Mauritius and gave us compliments.

She smiled at me

Now go outside make a call to your wife and tell her your visa is approved.

I was out by 10.30AM.It was a fantastic experience.

The consular officer was very nice, a pleasant personality. I wanted her to keep asking me questions . She was keep smiling at me her body language was positive which gave me confidence at the time of interview. At some point it look like she was helping me to succeed.

I received a text message from VFS around 4pm that my passport is ready for delivery. I collected my passport and brown envelop from VFS the same day

For the medical portion, is it full copies (all pages) of the passport or just biography page?

Just biography page, interview latter, 2 passport size pic and 5000-6000 Ra. It depends upon vaccine. My wife paid 4700 Rs.

She asked me to carry my school living certificate,AOS,X-ray,Vaccination Report and proof of relationship at the interview.

We turned in my wife's sole birth certificate that she had with the IV Packet . But we did make several true copies just in case something happened. Would this suffice for VFS?

Right now my is going to VSF office Mumbai. I hv q. I submitted original birth certificate and certified copy of marriage certificate with DS 230 package. So, now VSF office looking for original marriage certificate or not. Is certified marriage certificate is ok with Mumbai consulate. We got certified marriage certificate from Government office. They did not give us original. They said this same as original. The certified copy has original black pen sign and stamp.

So Do i have to submitte original marriage certificate to VSF or Mumbai consulate or not?

Is certified copy of marriage certificated is good or not?

My wife will have Chicago as her POE.

What time did you arrive at the airport if I may ask?

My wife will have POE as Chicago too. And i am just away 25 min from O'Hare international Airport. Also I work at the O'Hare airport. So you guys need any help inside air port then let me know. I can go up to the Flight gate.

This is what my wife and I have come up with to show bonafide evidence.

1. Jewelry Receipts (both sides) for the wedding.
2. Receipts for the party plot where the wedding was held.
3. Pictures of the Wedding in a small flip book album with family members on both sides and specific important religious parts of the ceremony (Hasta Melap, Fire Rounds, Sindoor, Mangal Sutra etc.) THIS IS VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT!
4. Hand Written Cards and letters
5. Phone Records
6. Skype Screen Shots and call history
7. Summary of Instant Messaging transcripts. Will be done on a month by month basis. (I would have over 500-600 pages if I printed it all).
8. E-mail transcripts
9. Photos showing after wedding relationship (Her parents marriage anniversary we had a small party etc)
10. Wedding Invitation from USA that is addressed and invited and recognizes both of us as a couple.
11. Facebook profiles showing relationship status as married to each other.

So far thats all we have come up with and it's quite a lot considering we had an arranged marriage.

I have all that you mentions. But Mine is love marriage.

How did you print or get face book profile. Moreover i have honeymoon hotel receipt, boarding pass of same day flight for honeymoon, my birthday pic with her family.

Only things i was wounder about if they ask that you have love or arrange marriage, then when would be my wife ans. I have been know her since 8 years and she is from same city and street. I have been talking to her since i got to US, but i have my phone bill records for 9 months. We did not have plan to get married, but our families are finally agree so we got married.

Let say my wife will tell to CO that we got love marriage and i have been known him since 8 years, then what would be the proof for our relationship before marriage.

I have all proof after wedding. I just wrote couples emails and greetings cards ( but cards did not have date)before marriage.

So it kinds of confusion about one question that love or arrange marriage.

Advise are appropriated.

My wife passed her interview.. It was like 10 minutes.. They didn't want to see any documents. They ask only few questions..

1. Where ex husband lives?

2. Why 19 year old son not go America now?

3. Where you meet husband?

4. What you love about husband??

5. Your husband understand your english?

LOL wife tried showing all her picture album, interviewer just nod and grin.

They finally tell her you have your visa and my wife was still trying to show more pictures etc..

They took passport and it will take 8-10 for her to receive visa and documents from DHL..

You are right - I am still obsessed with September - have to move on to October. I tried calling DOS but the wait time is 15 minutes - can't wait at office. Which is the best time/ what time can be contacted/ .....! Appreciate details.

By the way, NVC says that they can't give the October date till 2 nd week of September - I don't think it is right, as I have run the timeline reports and saw September interview dates much before August first week. Any thoughts!

If you call to DOS, then they will give you same answer as operator of NVC. I called three time to DOS and same response as NVC. I think still you have chance to get interview in Sep cuz NVC usually does interview for Chennai consulate up 22nd of the month. When i had same situation in July, i guy from Chennai consulate he got interview email on 24july for Aug 29.

Usually BOM consulate declare interview list on their website after 15th of the month and Chennai consulate is after 22nd of the month. I notice couple time.

Our NVC case was completed on Aug 1st, and on Aug 12th received an email containing the Interview Appointment Letter at Mumbai Consulate on Sept 7th.

My wife got interview on Sep 07 too.

What documents you are going to summite at VSF office. Do we have to summite DS230 and other documents at VSF office even though we already summite at NVC.

Do we really have to go VSF office to summite documents or we can mail them.

I hope i am not asking too much but I was hoping someone would scan in the pcc ( please blank out any personal information, passport number, etc) so My fiancé can take it and show the new passport officer in Ahmedabad that K1 is not an illegal visa and the Ahmedabad office did used to issue pcc for a k1 visa. Some of you might know that there's a lady who just became the regional passport officer at Ahmedabad and has no clue what an K1 visa is....she denied my fiancé and three other girls that were with her to get the pcc for k1 visa saying she does not recognize the visa type and will not issue the pcc.

Again, please blank out any personal information. I am just hoping I could have my fiancé go and show the damn lady ath the passport office someone else's pcc. Our interview is on the 7th of Septmber.

Ok so i just called NVC an got my case number woohoo can any one help me with the email form for the ds 3032 were gonna send it now, we have the template we just need to no what to put in the subject line of email and the email addy to send it to, thanks folks

But did u get DS3032 from NVC. You might get AOS fees and DS3032 from NVC. Then after you will send DS3032. You can not send email to nvc if you have only your case no. IF you get that then send it.

Anyhow my wife called both lilavati hospital for medical and got medical scheduled for the 7th of september. She also called VFS to inquire about fees. They asked her to submit her medical and passport to them anytime before the interview.

Should she submit her passport to them ahead of time or not as she might need that to enter the building? She has a driving license for ID purpose.

You don't have to summite passport at VSF office. You can just summite photocopy of your passport, and others documents.

I m just little confuse about VSF office. Do we have to go at VSF office to summite documents and fees or just we can send through courier? I wondering if i can get VSF contact information from you.

It might me the same. It mentions your appointment date, time and consulate. That is your appointment letter.It is also call package 4.

You won't be get any other email from NVC regarding this.

Magical, I am leaning towards filing I-864 with bank balance of 15,000 (though I don't need it) with 4 months bank summary statements, as I am not comfortable with I-864EZ. I have time as my AOS fee status still in "PROCESS" for last 3 days. Currently am concentrating on sending IV packet tomorrow, as the IV fee paid yesterday became PAID quickly. Did you use USPS or EDEX to mail your packets! Wh is safer.... Thanks.

I sent via USPS express mail, next day delivery. I handed in to USPS on 4:55pm and next day 10:45, they got it and you can track and get confirmation through email. FED EX is same but they charge more than USPS.
