  1. My mom, LPR, petition my unmarried brother, who is in the Philippines last Apr 2010. Petition was approved but we are still waiting for visa number. My brother recently turned 21 years old last June 23, 2011. Will he be eligible for the CSPA? Please help me compute his adjusted age. Here are more details:

    Brother's Birth date: June 23, 1990

Approval date of petition: September 15, 2010 (Approval notice)

    Priority date: April 18, 2010

  2. I agree it WOULD be an issue but as I have no credit history, I have no points... so what "points" can they take from me? You can't get store cards without a history.. or at least I couldn't by myself so a secured card it is.

You may not have points, but if a creditor sees there are too much inquiries for a short period of time, that's a redflag for them. I only say this because I process credit card applications and qualify loans. Secured cards are good too, it's the best bet you just have to put money up front.

  3. Think about it first before applying for one, everytime you apply, they check your credit, and everytime they do points get taken off from your credit. Don't get a credit card with an annual fee, just wait for a good credit card offer (no annual fee, low interest rate and maybe rewards). I suggest starting with a store credit card, but make sure it's a store that you shop quite often from. When you have the card, don't spend more that 30% of your credit limit, this will help build credit, never make a late payment because this will really hurt your credit. I did start with Banana Republic CC, they gave me $400 limit at first that I can only use at Old Navy, Gap, & Banana Republic, after a few months they upgraded me to a Banana Republic Visa & gave me a $4000 limit which I can use anywhere that accepts Visa.

  4. Hello everyone First Time poster in this forum.

I just got married last month in the Philippines since I grew up down there and also my wife. Btw, I am a USC and she is not ( she has a B1/B2 10 year multiple entry). I am currently living/working in the united states and she is currently in the philippines managing her business.

    Here are my questions:

    1. Can she still use her B1/B2 visa to go to USA? If yes can she visit me and show she has ties in the philippine( e.q. she has her own business and at least has P1.3 million in the bank (almost 40k). What are the chances POE will deny her. She is planning to stay here not more than 4months. (I already read all discussions regarding this but I think everyone has different circumstances and Im hoping to share mine).

    2. Should I start the petition process (I-130) prior here visiting here or wait till she gets here?

    3. How long do you think the process here? Also she visited USA with here family two years ago and stayed for 1 month.

Please advise on what I should do.

    Thank you very much

    1. She can still use her tourist visa and visit you. If you she is able to prove her strong ties in the Philippines, she should be good.

    2. Don't start petition process, prior to her visit. My mom used to have a 10 year multiple entry too and had a pending petition case, when the US Embassy knew about the petition case they put a hold on her tourist visa. She was not able to leave the Philippines until the petition was approved and done with.

    3. I heard I-129F is much faster than I-130.

  5. i still need to figure out more about this info tho or much better call naia

    http://www.cheapoair.com/Portals/92/baggage_fees.html

With mine, the information was with visa packet that was delivered to me, when your visa arrives the information should be there to or try calling NAIA. I'm just not sure if the regulation changed since then.

  6. we had are interview on june 22. they deny her because they feel that she was not intending to get married. then the officer tells her she needs to convince them that she is. they never looked at her pictures, never read the ym chat logs. only looked at the phone bill and said a 5 min phone call is not prove a relationship. I really don't understand them. anyone else ever get this kind of result and were they able to convince them they intend to get married. :help:

Did they say anything about appealing for reconsideration?

  7. From what I know, once you receive the approval for the petition NOA2, on the notice there should be an expiration date, which I believe is 4 months from the approval date. To be sure, I suggest to maybe let 2 months pass, and then submit the paperwork to US Embassy on the day of your interview. I wouldn't wait too long though, because once the petition approval expires (4 months), you'll have to file another one. Once it is approved, visa should good for 6 months.

  8. The US Embassy in Manila does not accept co-sponsors for K-1 Visa applications. I know some cases they make exceptions but the petitioner still has to fill out I-134. Just have your fiance sill it out, and then have another one for back up with his uncle's income just incase they do allow it in your case. I know for K-1 visa, the income requirement is at least 100% above the poverty guideline, this guideline should be in the USCIS website.

  9. We werent' asked for photos either, I think once CO is convinced that relationship is real, they don't ask for supporting evidences anymore. That is a good thing. My fiance will still bring photos in this carry on baggage though for the immigration interview at the airport when he arrives. We were approved K-1 Visa on 6/21, just waiting for the delivery, but I heard maulan nagyon so baka ma delay ng konti. Good luck to you too!
