    Thanks

  2. on the 221g slips that New Delhi often gives out they ask for an affidavit from you both detailing why you are engaged and want to marry, about your relationship, etc. I just learned that an affidavit is different from a notarized letter. I thought they were both the same. Affidavit has a legal format, depends on your state, and it has a part where you take an oath and sign it in front of the notary. It's the written version of giving your testimony at court. It took me awhile but i finally found a free format online for my state. I have read alot of timelines and people who turned in affidavits get approved eventually. In india, the US embassy has a notary but it costs i think $50 per document.

We saw this list before my fiance's interview but thought our 100 emails, photos, chats, letter from my mom (not notarized), letter from his mom (not notarized), email from pastor, letter from me and him (not notarized) would be sufficient. wrong! we're in AP now :((

Here's a list of items that New Delhi often gives out and asks for:

1 Notarized explanation from you and your petitioner of how and when you first met and why you decided to get engaged.

2 List of all engagement ceremony guests, their relationship to you, their addresses and their phone numbers.

3 Itemized emails and/or postmarked letters or cards between you and your fiancee.

4 Photos of you and the petitioner before, during, and after your engagement.

5 Notarized statement signed by the applicant's parents discussing their views of the engagement.

6 Notarized copy of your fiancee's passport.

7 Voter's ID card and Voter's list for the past 5 years of the beneficiary

Hello,, can you please explain me what do you mean by NOTARIZED EXPLANATION...??? Please help me,, its urgent..

    Thanks
