You're welcome! Five days upon receiving the email that my GC was mailed I called USCIS. I know that it was sent via priority mail so I was wondering why I haven't received it and that's what I told the Tier 2 agent that I talked to. She then gave me the tracking number so I can check it on my own and do follow ups at USPS.
Thanks pepper. and for the guys that say there is no tracking number I called at 1 pm today and guess what? I have a tracking # and my card was sent today and I'm able to track it

Yes there is a tracking number. And yes USCIS do provide it if you ask for it. Me and my friends were able to track the delivery of our GCs...

normally you get 2 email for production then last will be that they mailed the approval notice (when they ship the card) 2nd level officer will give you the tracking if you call. they don't email a tracking no if you don't ask for it . 2nd level officer told me this last night.

Thanks for the replies but guy Yes USCIS does send them with a tracking number. that's a new system they mandated this year

No tracking number (that I know of) for the GC. Just comes regular mail. If you've gotten the notice of production it should be on its way soon.
I heard from members here that the new USCIS system sends it usps priority mail with a tracking number. I got an email with production and today at 7 am another production email

So yesterday at 11:30 am I got the card production email, today at 7:30 am I got another email same thing card production. I believe I will get a third email but would be that they mailed my approval, right? and that's when they mail the card. When can I call and get the tracking number for usps??

I hear Vermont is very slow. You will not see any touches until you get approved, The reason is because they use your actual application number for NOA1 when they work on your case. The only time they actually use the biometrics number is when they either send you a ref or approval.

When does USCIS send the card. I know with AOS they normally send an email with the card production then another one with card production and the last email is when they send another notification that they sent an approval letter which means they sent the physical card, right? how long is this process?one more thing. Do I call customer service to get a tracking number???? when ?

Just received an email this afternoon that my card production was approved yesterday Dec 2, 2011.
Congratulations , are you in Seattle?? my NOA1 is 08/25 . You are lucky you got the email. I see the USCIS website has been under maintenance since Friday night. weird you got an email on Saturday.

I was a Calif. filer and they had to return my package to me and it was postmarked Lincoln, Nebraska. I returned it to Liguna Niguel, Calif. And then the acceptance letter came from Lincoln but the card on the same day from Calif. I have no idea what their system is.
Even with interuption is was only 9/12 until 11/25 for receipt of card.
I still think that the local office has to do with the approval.I assume local offices are not able to produce the actual green card that's why California sends it.If you look at all cases most correspondences after NOA1 AND Biometrics are from local office except for the card . and again there is no way that an officer is too lazy that a September filer will be approved while a July filer is still pending ( believe me they would have fired the officer). And again how many of those people that got approved are from big cities?

I wouldn't expect Seattle to be a huge immigration hot spot either, but compared to Spokane it probably sees a lot more. I just know every time I've had to go down to the courthouse to deal with USCIS stuff, the place has been absolutely dead and we've been in and out very quickly. We have a small Russian community and a Japanese school that students come over to attend (although I'm sure most of them are just on student Visas and aren't immigrating), but otherwise not a lot of immigrants that I'm aware of. So yeah, I believe your assumptions are correct and a lot rides on how inundated the local office is with cases
Keep your fingers crossed that Seattle catches up quickly!Seattle never accepted walk ins, they even have a sign that asks walk ins to reschedule. when I went there last time for biometrics there were many people, not overwhelming though. I hope Seattle will catch up but I see July filers from Seattle that are still pending. I don't think approvals are random, it can't be because an officer is lazy. Laziness will delay the case for a week or two not months.

I have no proof, but I think it does have a lot to do with the local office. Where I live isn't a small city, but it's not huge like LA or something either. And I'm sure my local office has a lot less immigrants coming through it than places in CA/FL/NY/etc. so I wouldn't be surprised to find out that our approval in under 3 months was because there's not as big of a pool to deal with here.

Thanks for your reply and congratulations on your approval. I guess there are less immigrants in Spokane than Seattle. I'm confident that local office plays a big part because most of the big cities take forever.

Hi all,
I'm an august filer at CSC, and I have no clue about their processing. It should be 6 months but then again people are getting approved from September filers while CSC didn't approve August or even July filers. Do you think it have anything to do with the local USCIS office in the city you filed at ? I noticed people from small towns get approved first. Just a thought though!!! sigh!!

When did you file your ROC ? I assume you will be approved once you respond to the RFE the only confusion is if they will relocate your case to VSC or just approve it and mail you the card

It is what it is. They are not required to update the online case check database or anything. Its a privilege they give to us not a right.
I know it is not required. I was under the impression that once they work on your case they have to scan it and that's why you see the update. So I was assuming they are not working on my case since I didn't see any touches. But I think it might be different with the I-751.

Hi folks, I'm curious here if anyone's case gets any updates or touches anytime in the process before approval? with AOS you could always see the case gets touched but noticed I-751 never does.

I got done with the FP today in Seattle as walk in. 45 mins from arrival to done !
I didn't use the Infopass, just walked in and told the information desk that I had FP appointment in October but I was out of the country and would like to see if I could get it done today.
I was directed to the FP window to see if they can accommodate me and I was done in 30mins. I guess just lucky. The lady at the counter did say that Tues and Wed and mornings were always busy.

Thanks. I have got an info pass for Monday 9/26 around 130pm. I am wondering if I just show up for the Infopass appointment and request for Biometrics earlier since I am out of the country on my actual appointment date on 10/13.
If that doesn't work, then I may try again on Wed or Thurs by lining up there from 630 am.
As a last resort, I will try to extend my date or change my travel plan.
Any inputs on best way to walk in will help.

I don't know if it will work or no . when I researched it online, I found out most people that showed up got it done but they had to wait for 6 or 7 hours BUT they had no infopass. LET ME KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON MONDAY .

did anyone try to get in with an infopass? I have mine in 10/13 but I cant make it that day. I got an infopass for an earlier date..wondering if that will help me get in.
I heard stories about people getting in with infopass then getting their biometrics done but this was in 2005. The fact is you will get it done if you show up but you have to wait for around 7 hours . most walk ins that was done in September waited this long . when is your infopass? let me know

Same answer as in August - the Seattle office is pretty swamped - expect very long waits but I would try if you have the time - try Wednesdays - I hear that's a good day for walk-ins...

congrats inky, Your card was mailed and I got the same message today 8:15 am. I called yesterday and got a tracking # and the IO told me it will be mailed today but I was tracking it and it seems like it was mailed yesterday. I assume yours was mailed yesterday as well. Call and ask for # they will transfer you to second level that will give it to you. You should get it in the mail tomorrow or Monday maximum
