  1. Sorry that I will not write in Polish, but I am having a hard time learning it! My husband is Polish and we will soon be relocating from the Miami area to near Pittsburgh/Johnstown. Are there any members here that live in that area from Poland? My husband misses talking in his native tongue! Thanks!

  2. It has been awhile since I have been on this forum. My husband received his 2 year conditional green-card, and our next step is to remove the conditions (to be done in June). My question is that we are moving from Miami to near Pittsburgh. What do I have to do to change our address, or do I have to do anything? It is funny how fast we forget once we are in this stage! Thanks for any help or advice! :help:

  3. I am not sure if you took care of this yet or not..but my husband also got a RFE from CSC for medical test/vaccinations. I told them that he already had his medical, and the guy there told me to write a letter stating this, and just send in his vaccination records. He said it may or may not work. Since his medical was close to expiring, we just went ahead and took another medical exam. As soon as we sent in the information..his case was approved and he got his green card. It was a quick and painless procedure. Good luck!

  4. I can't even read all the posts in this thread..cuz it makes me sick! I don't like pre-nups and if my fiancee did that to me..I would cry for days upon end. And yes, say I am immature..and yes, say I am old fashioned. Thank you God that I am! And thank you God that my husband is just as old fashioned as I am! What is wrong with this world that we even have to come to this! I think he is not the one that learned something new about his fiancee..I think that poor woman had the rude awakening!

  5. Miami on the top 10? HA! Maybe if you are latino or speak Spanish..not too good for a Polish man who speaks Russian, German and Polish..and fluent English (unlike the majority of people here). He has been job hunting for almost a year ..with no luck!

  6. Hello,

I married a man from Poland last year..and anyway, he went to Poland last week, and will stay until mid-December. I will meet him there (Krakow) from Nov 16-Nov 30th! We will celebrate our 1rst wedding anniversary there..actually in Zakopane! (L) My question is, what should I bring his family for souvenirs? He won't give me any suggestions, for he still does not have a job and is always worried about money. But I really would like to bring something small..so he doesn't get mad at me..and so his family has something from me! Does anyone have any good suggestions of souveniers? I have people to buy for from his mother/father..to his brothers/sisters, nieces and nephews. Well..at least a chosen few of them! I feel I need to bring something..and really want to...but I have no clue!! What do Polish people like from the USA? It is extra hard for me..because I cannot even communicate with most of them..I only learned a few Polish words so far..and will eventually learn the language!

Thanks so much for anyone who can help me!!!!!!!!!!!! :help: Oh, if it helps, I live in Miami area!

  7. Of course I am not her..But if it was me, I would go back to my family in Poland. She has a mother, father, sisters and/or brothers who love her. You can get free college in Poland, and she would have her mother to help her. I know it feels humiliating, but that is what I would do. I am not from Poland, but I have visited my husband's family there and am going back next month again. I love it there...it is not that bad! Go to your family..where you have support and love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The guy is an awful jerk.

  8. Well my husband received his green card today..and the funny thing is that the post office forwarded to our new address!!! Funny how we worried we wouldn't get it because I just sent in the address change form..and yet we still got it! Just like that scare we had when the "brown" envelope was opened prior to him coming to the U.S., but they still let him in! I guess that the best thing to do is relax and everything will work out in the end!

  9. My husband also received an RFE for his AOS (which was transferred to the California Service Center). I knew he would get one because he didn't have proof of vaccinations. We found a civil surgeon who charged us $140.00 for the medical exam and the vaccinations. It was very simple. They checked him out, gave him MMR shot, DPT shot, TB skin test and took his word for that he had the chicken pox. He also had his blood drawn for the check of diseases. I didn't want to risk or waste time not getting him his complete medical over again because we only have 84 days to submit this information. I figured maybe they wanted his medical again because it was coming close to a year since his K-1 medical. My opinion is don't take any risk or chances..good luck!

  10. My Polish husband got his first speeding ticket ..and it was for $180.00!! He was actually going the flow of traffic and the police pulled two cars over. He let the other one go..and gave my husband the ticket. My husband was so mad..I had to convince him to get back into the car and not chase after the policeman or even argue with him! hahah! It was horrible, but at the same time, I couldn't stop laughing!

  11. Today we had our biometrics appointment in Miami. The appointment was scheduled at 1:00 pm, but boy was that a joke! I didn't realize that about 80 other people must have had a 1 pm appointment also! We were in there for several hours! The place was almost impossible to find too! And when I asked for directions at two different places (gas stations), the people there didn't even speak English!! One woman at the center said that the city didn't allow them to even put up a sign for the place! Other than that, it went ok. We were never asked for a marriage certificate. Only the appointment letter and identification ( a passport worked fine). My husband then had his fingerprints taken and his picture taken ..and that was the end. So we'll see how it goes next!

  12. My husband came to the U.S. on 09/26/2005 and we were married 11/22/2005. He also has not earned any money in the U.S. during this time period. I called the IRS and they told me that if we file married filing a joint return, that he has to show his earnings from Poland. They also said that if we file married filing single return that I can claim him as a dependent and I would not have to show his income from Poland. And since he did not earn any income in the U.S...he does not have to file since his income was zero. That is what I did.
