  1. Thank you for your reply and I am glad that you have not heard of this either because I was totally confused. I had no idea. It does not make sense to me that they would go through the trouble of sending the visa to the person just to have that person have to go back to a specific point anyway. I called the Texas side and the guy told me that he has to come through there so that they could "finish processing his packet." I clarfied that it had to be at that POE, that they could not do it anywhere else and it could not be changed and he said no. He was not very helpful and pretty abrupt, I wanted some explanation but he was unable to provide me with any information. My fiance called the emabjada in Ciudad Juarez and said he spoke to 3 different people who all said the same thing.

Besides the inconvenience of having to change around a plane ticket, I am totally at a loss as to how I should plan his trip. I have never crossed the Mexican border on foot and it seems like a lot of unnecessary hassle (I am in Seattle). I don't know if anyone else has had experience with this?

did you wait in cjd to pick up your visa there? if so then this is why you have to go throught the poe they choose!

  2. its funny you guys say that because i am not a dual citizen and i had to pay 3000 pesos in culiacan just to get mexican imigration's permission to marry in mexico.... it was a headache...

but in the end its worth it.. it takes les time for the cr1 than the k1

im in san diego0 saludos a los dos!

It makes no difference if we get married as an American or Mexican...same time..same procedures! NO difference at all! And yeah CR1 is way better that the K1 less money and much better in the long haul!

  3. I went for moral support and just cause I wanted to go jaja but in some cases they do call you in. In general the US Spouse is not allowed in any of the appts in Juarez. However they did ask my husband in the interview if I was there...but it is really rare if the spouse/fiance is called! If you have the time and money..and you want to go, then go :)

  4. thank you so much for the info  you gave me hopes.

do you know how long it usually takes to get a waiver approved?

Well CSC is slow right now so have tons of patience! After your approval you will start the electronic process with NVC which goes by farely quickly if you are prepared ahead of time(start looking into the I864..look for a sponsor if you don´t make enough money..ect..keep on collecting evidence of an ongoing relationships such as plane tickets, pictures, phone bills..ect)then once all this is done then you will be scheduled an interview appt and then you will need to make a fingerprint appt...You are going to go to CDJ to do medical,fingerprints,ect..and the first interview´s outcome is going to be "no approval" but with the possible chance of a waiver..if you are granted that chance then you will have to schedule another interview which is where you will turn in the waiver...since your paying a lawyer already make use of him/her so they can explain this whole waiver process to you...Good luck!

  5. Well I got married as a Mexican instead of an American due to the fact that there are so much paper work and money involved doing it that way and I didn´t have any problems throught this whole process :) (I have dual-citizenship which allowed me to do this)...And about the drugs always be honest,my husband told me that in the medical exam all the people that had used drugs were sent to the psychologist and instead of receiving the results that same day like my husband did, they had to wait until that next day...but it doesn´t mean he will be denied just because of that so don´t worry and remember always be honest because if you are caught in a lie...thats the end of it!

  7. Nope you can´t do that....the I-864 will be sent at NVC which is about 6-9 months away from the date you submit your I-130...start preparing for the electronic processing which you will need all this scanned:

    the I-864 and/or the I-864A

    supporting financial evidence

    then:

2 2x2 pictures of your husband (back and front) and on the back it has to have your husbands name on it

    evidence of a bonafide marriage

    his birth certificate

    your marriage certificate

    good luck :)

  8. On November 30th I sent NVC my AOS packet electronically and also the IV packet put I received an e-mail from postmaster@mail.hotmail.com stating:

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

    nvcelectronic@state.gov

but I also received 2 e-mails from NVC; one stating its an Auto Response and another one this morning replying to my AOS packet e-mail...

Does this mean both of my e-mails went through? I tried to forward the IV packet e-mail again and I got the same message from postmaster@mail.hotmail.com...

Please Help :( I wanted to know if this has happened to somebody else...

    Thanks

  10. On friday I recieved a text and e-mail that our prays had been answered!! NO RFE´s :) Now we start the NVC waiting game jajaja case number here we come ;) so any advise on what to do now while waiting for our case number?? I know everything is going to be electronic so I will greatly appreciate any advice or tips to stay focused on this process and move alñong with it as soon as possible... :star: I also want to give thanks for all your help VJ..especially to Magical and Saraio for responding to my e-mails :D(L)

  11. Does anyone who has had an appt. at ciudad juarez know about taxis that are safe to take? We will be arriving at the Main bus station in Juarez, but we are scared for anything bad to happen and we need a taxi to get to the hotel..If anyones can help out thanx in advance..

I haven´t been to Juarez yet but my thoughts to you and anyone who is going to Juarez is that if you go in a mind set that your scared about your safety and are expecting the worst then that's what´s going to happen..Like I said earlier in another post...And I say this nicely the US has dangerous cities as well: Oakland, L.A..the Bronx just to name a few..I felt more scared for my life in Bronx, NY than here in Michoacan, which is the heart of all the drug cartels. So clear your thoughts..don´t believe everything the sensationalist press says..you´ll be in and out a secure area, no need to fill your mind with what ifs and what nots.. Good Luck on the interview :):star:

  12. every time some one post something about ciudad juarez BOING! has to say something negative and scare people!!!! its pretty safe around the consulate area as long as you dont go out at night and stay in your hotel room everything its good. Also ignore the the coyotes only talk to people inside the buildings.

    [/quote

I know right..I´ve noticed that.. Hey Boing...sorry to say this and burst your bubble but Oakland and L.A are equally as dangerous as Ciudad Juarez...are they not full of gansters...drugs...guns...ect ect?? I´ve been to Mexico alot and the truth is that US news exaggerats the truth so much... they are sensationalist... Michoacan, Mexico is known to be the heart of all this drug cartel war...I live there periodically and I feel safe...its not like if I go buying drugs..so basically if you don´t mess with them they won´t mess with you.. STOP REPEATING STUFF YOU HEARD JUST TO SCARE PEOPLE OFF.. :)
