I am preparing for the interview for my wife in Bogota, I have read all of the instructions, My question is her 12 year old daughter who has a seperate I-130 filed required to be at the interview.
It appears the child is not required to have a medical exam. Is this correct? It also appears the child is required to have a TB test. Can this be done in another city or only in Bogota? Is it advisable to have the child at the interview even if it is not required?
Has anyone waited in Bogota to receive the Visas from Domesa? How long did it take?

How long do my wife and I have to stay in the US the first two years that she and her daughter hold the green card to qualify for the permanent green card.

There will be no transition. An I-130 petition sent to Chicago from overseas will follow the same path as those that are sent to Chicago stateside.
I think this is bad information, is there anyone from Colombia that actually knows about the new centralization, I think it will cause a lot of delays and it is advisable to apply before the deadline of August 14th 2011

Is there a USCIS field office in Colombia? If so, DCF is still on the table for you regardless of the August date. The file at the Chicago lockbox procedure if you live overseas only applies if there is no USCIS field office in the country.
I do not believe there is a USCIS field office in Colombia. It doesn't show up on the website

I have lived in Colombia officially with a cedula since Sept 1 2010, I am in what is called a "union libre" since June of 2010, I was planning on filing for a K1 visa until I discovered the DCF possibility this week. So I was planning on holding off the wedding until we got the K1 visa. Now with the possibility of a DCF I notice that the procedure has been changed and that all filings will be done in Chicago after August 14th, 2011. I can't imagine what a mess this will be in the transition.
My plan is to get married in Colombia (in the Church which seems to be relevant in Bogota) in three weeks June 18th, and apply immediately in Bogota for the CR1 with an I 130 application.
My fiance has a 12 year old daughter. Is she included in the application? Are two applications and two fees required?
Do you see any problems with this approach?

MattCali, thanks for the information! I will be filing the I-130 for my wife here at the start of next month at the Bogotá Embassy. I am also living here in Colombian and working for a company online in the USA. I am wondering if they will require the Affidavit of Support also, I do not qualify but I have someone who is willing to joint sponsor with me. What was the $404 dollars for when you return? Make sure to keep us updated!
Hello did you find out if someone else can file the support affadavit, is it then necessary to file tax returns
Child not recognized or acknowledged by Natural Father
in Direct Consular Filing (DCF) General Discussion

Hello, I am the American Citizen and my Colombian wife has a 12 yr old daughter, who has never been acknowledged by the Natural Father. The Father's name is not listed on the Birth Certificate. I am told by her and by various Notary's that under Colombian Law he has no rights. We have the interview for the Green Card coming up in 5 weeks. I am concerned that at the Interview it may cause a problem. Does anyone have experience with this type of matter. The Natural Father has not been heard from since the time of the Birth or paid a peso in expenses.
