  1. I just recently got an RFE for that question too, it seems several people here missed it too. I am wondering if they start the background checks around then, and so they want to verify that answer about criminal activity first. Don't know for sure, but background checks are a big variability in the time it takes, especially if the name checks bring up possible matches and they have to dig a little deeper.

Our RFE for that question also.We was waiting for NOA2 over 3 weeks after sent it

  2. USCIS Calif. received our I-129F petition on Nov. 12, 2010. We received a RFE May 25th, 2011. We have been waiting more than a month

since our reply to the RFE. This is ridiculous. I just arrived in Bangkok last night to visit my fiance. This is my 11th trip to visit

her since we first met 16 months ago! Why is my government doing this to me? We have more than enough evidence for our relationship. I

just don't understand why we have not received approval. I feel like USCIS is trying to take as long as possible to test our relationship.

I don't understand why other people are getting approval in 3 to 4 months and we are going on 9 months with nothing. Just feeling sad and

depressed this morning. I am happy to be back in Thailand with my honey, but the stress on both of us is taking a toll.

Hope you have a good time with you fiance in Thailand. We have to believe we will be approved soon .Good luck ^^

  3. cool, congrats! wish that your NOA2 will come very quickly after you send the response. hopefully dumb/dumber and I will be next. I would be sooo happy to get an RFE at this point!!

First i was not so happy to get RFE but after that i did happy about it

Already passed 3 days after we sent the request ( RFE = my fiance didnt answer one question in I-129F )

    I hopt u and dumb/dumber r the next to be approved.....Good luck

  4. I have been waiting for my NOA2 since November 15, 2010. At this point, I would welcome an RFE. I know it is insane, but at least you know they did not lose you in the black hole.

I hope it is an easy one. Good Luck.

I hope your case will be approved soon. Your right , get RFE better than nothing

    Good luck to u too

Sorry to hear. Just get the stuff back asap and I hope it's something simple. Good luck!!

Thank you. we will send it asap.

    Long journey for us !!!!!!

  5. They should have sent you a letter on the service request. Some sort of answer. Call to follow up on the service request. The service request has 45 days.

    Was it filed?

Did someone act on the service request?

When was the action on the service request?

Was a letter mailed out on the service request action to me?

    when was the letter mailed?

Is there an issue on the service request?

Was the service request reviewed by a supervisor or office manager?

the key is to be extremely specific on questions. Yes, no, date, time answers. the more specific the questions, the easier to get an answer. Think of interviewing someone on the witness stand, you want specific answers. No thought, leading questions, or their opinions are allowed. If they cannot answer questions from records (entries) on your application file, the question cannot be answered.

i hope something happens for you. I know how frustrating it is. The reason I have my Senator talking to me is because I stated from the beginning I am not just looking for help with me, but help on the process for everyone. My job is to prepare and propose a solution to my senator which can be easily taken to congress and approved.

Writing senator/ congressman/ service center director (make sure to write ALL congressional representatives from your area.): Paragraph 1: state your request, Give USCIS case number located at (service center, service center address, phone number, director name of service center). Paragraph 2: give reason for action on request (or legislation idea , etc.) Be specific, gives dates, results, timeline. Date filed, Date of last action. Date of calls made, Service center time noted to complete, current length in service center. Be extremely specific. Paragraph 3: thank for time, and hope to hear from soon. Ask for response either way.

    Hope this helps.

    u helped us a lot.Thank you again.

Hope u will get it soon too

  6. Darren is Incorrect on all of the above as far as getting USCIS Attention as he is known for but intentions are good.

After 5 months 31 days you can Call and put in a SERVICE REQUEST. (Not an Expedite) The result will be : We are reviewing your Request. PLEASE WAIT (Not sure of the days) for Our response

we did put in a SERVICE REQUEST last month and now 30 days passed after did that. we didnt get NOA 2 yet. WE dont know what should we do next after 30 days put in a SERVICE REQUEST.

  7. call the USCIS helpline. Enter your reciept number, then press the number to report a problem in your application. wGet a representative on the line. discuss your case NICELY. State the USCIS is supposed to process the case in 5 months. You can ask for RECORDS on your case, not "why" questions. Remember ALL of the calls ARE recorded.

    Ask:

verify the person's name and number? (make sure to use their name in front of every question throughout the conversation.)

Verify the case is a I-129F being looked at.

The US citizen is the PETITIONER. The foreign Fiance is the Applicant. (This is important.)

    when was application last touched?

    Are background checks completed?

Has a background check noted other issues?

Is there a request for more evidence?

Is there an outstanding issue noted I need to respond to?

Is there an outstanding issue the adjudicator is looking at?

    Is the case in adjudication?

Which processing center is the case with?

Which department in the processing center is the case with?

How long has the case been there?

Is this case out of compliance with the processing time?

At this point you should be able to request an expedite based on USCIS processing time -- USCIS error in not processing during requested processing time.

they should ask you for name, birthday, email (if you have electronic form filed), and give you a request ID number.

    Best of luck.

Thank you so much. We will try to do like your suggestion

  8. Call the number you have on your NOA1 and tell them your situatuion, they will tell you what you need to do. I am surprised your Senator cannot help. I have read severally on this site how congreesman have been able to help. You have two senators in your state, you should call them and especially the congressman reprsenting your district; this is one of the reasons they were elected; to serve their constituency. Good Luck.

thank you for your suggestion . we will try to talk to the senator again on Monday. We hope it might help
