    How did  you mail them?

    and to who?

mail delivery in Morocco is so poor

Did you keep a copy (in case they don't get to your spouse) so you can scan and email them

If you have to email anything  ,  make sure the case # , both your names and both DOB's are on each and every page in upper right hand corner

your spouse should be taking the originals  into the interview by hand/ in case the CO asks to keep them,  he should mark them aforehand as instructed above so the embassy does not misplace them

AP is normal in Morocco so don't stress and we are seeing the embassy posts REFUSED on the CEAC site until they approve (issue the visa) or deny

Let's hope the cities open for travel and all loosens up  there

and don't book a flight thru Europe or UK

watch the online bookings so you aren't trapped by a european layover /  Air moroc flys direct from Casa to JFK and its better to change planes in the US / allow about 3 hours for customs and immigration at the 1st POE

    Assalamu alaykum,

Thank you for all the useful information you have provided. I sent all required documents via DHL and my spouse have already received them, it took 3 or 4.

Could you please address my concern I have detailed above regarding 2019 vs. 2020 tax information with a consular interview in Casa on 01/20/2021?

    Regards,

Most do not respond because we really have no answer

there are so many ahead of you waiting now at the embassy for interviews and in AP for security checks

you do not say what type of visa here/ you do not have a timeline for good answers

    please do a timeline

and now starting today morocco has a new 3 week lockdown on the big cities so this again puts everything behind

i suggest the USC join this site as you may be looking at extended wait time beyond April 15th and the 2020 IRS tax returns May be needed and a new I 864 /or I 134 at interview.   Again we do not know the type of visa so answering your inquest here is limited but if K1 Morocco is still not scheduling new interviews

    Hello,

Thanks you for the advice you have been giving to the Moroccan community on this website.

After reading your response about the US Consulate of Casablanca requiring Tax returns and W-2s for 2020, I had to rethink about our case, my spouse is scheduled for an interview for the CR-1 visa on 01/20/2021 and I have already sent all 2019 Tax transcripts, 2019 W-2 & a few recent pay stubs that has YTD income (most recent is period ending 12/11/2020). This detail slipped my mind now, while trying to plan ahead and send documents early, I am worried that they will delay the visa approval for this. What do you think?

    Kindly advise,

  3. Good evening,

I just got an email from the NVC: All required applicant documents have been received and approved - DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED

I have a question if you don't mind me asking. How long it took between the events below?

1- NVC's email that All required applicant documents have been received and approved - DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED, that they are working to schedule an interview date for you.

    And:

2- Your interview date or any prior steps after the above email/notification (1)

    Thank you,

There is nothing to be afraid of, you will not be denied a visa simply because of a history of TB infection. But you should tell your spouse, and your physician, because they will both find out during this process. To clarify, what you had was active TB which required a full course of treatment. You are now in remission, but still have inactive TB lingering in your system and there is the possibility that it could revert to active disease again in the future. (Lots and lots of people have been exposed to TB and have inactive disease that never causes a problem. Although there may be social stigma involved with TB infection, it is not a disease of the disadvantaged and there is no shame in acquiring an infection.) The reason this background is important is that USCIS' primary objective in requiring immigrants to undergo a medical exam is to prevent the spread of TB and other infectious diseases inside the US. Therefore, someone who has had TB in the past but is now cured or in remission, and is not a risk of infecting other people, is of little or no concern to USCIS. Their objective in the screening process is to make sure you are not one of those (infectious) people and, if you are, to make sure you are not infectious when you immigrate to the US. Since your examining physician will readily figure out that you have a history of TB (if you have a PPD test placed--which you should not--it will come back positive and they will order a chest x-ray, where your lobectomy will be apparent), what they will do is to require you to provide 3 sputum samples over 3 consecutive days. These samples will be cultured for 8 weeks to see if there is any Tb growth. If there is (which is unlikely, based on what you report), then you are still infectious and will require additional antibiotic treatment, and will then have to repeat the above process until the cultures are negative. If there is no growth after 8 weeks (i.e., cultures are negative), then you will not require any additional treatment and will be allowed to continue the immigration process. (You will also be required to notify the public health department where you live in the US, but that is just a formality.) Bottom line, your immigration process is likely to be extended by an additional 8 weeks while you wait for the results of the culture testing, but you will not be prevented from immigrating to the US. And you should tell your spouse because it's nothing to be ashamed of.

    Well said.

  5. Remember these are government workers, no matter how hard they work their pile never decreases. If you have never held a similar job use the KISS method.

That method can be used here on the forums so some sort of people that can't help much, they need to mind their business and be productive on their own lives instead of just launching sterile discussions. And Move On people there are many people out there on other treads that won't mind some useless opinions. Here the problem is solved a mix of all kinda paper that exist in the market is the deal kicking.gif

  6. Ahmed, I really like that picture of the two of you on your page....make sure you add that one too. Ohhhhhh I forgot, you also took photos of you and her family as well, do another 8 x10 lol.

You know when you have 3000+ pictures and 200+ Skype screenshots... when it comes the time to choose from the whole folders we feel bad when we have to give up on some photos that are all different and witness some past moments we had together. But yeah Margaret's mom came on the first meeting and we have pictures with her also other photos with my family, moms pictures...and by the way the picture on our profile is in Essaouira token last August :)

  7. Nah, not seriously. You should be concerned with the more important questions about this process. You know things like:

    1. Do you get a white border around the photos? On one hand it's not often done, but on the other hand USCIS and the consulate might take it as a sign of the seriousness of your relationship.

    2. Should the aspect ratio of your pints be 4:6 or 2:3? A 4:6 aspect ratio might be impressive, but perhaps we shouldn't go nuts and stick with a 2:3 ratio to keep it traditional. You wouldn't want to run afoul of the government with a 4:6.

    3. Red eye correction or no red eye correction? It's always possible that the CO who is carefully examining your 150 photographs will find one with red eye, and then will deny you based on section (2)(B)(iii)(d) of the INA, which clearly states that COs have the authority to issue a denial based on the amount of red in your eyes in that picture that you took when you went to the beach with your fiancee that one "special" time. That being said, red eye correction could be seen as a form of document falsification, and come back to haunt you when you are doing AOS.

    4. Print resolution of your photographs. If you print your photos using an advanced printer that gets 4800 dpi, the CO who is charged with counting all of the pixels in 150 or so photos might be impressed and assume that you have enough money to satisfy the poverty line requirements. However, they might also be suspicious as to how you could legitimately afford such a printer when they match it up with your fiances. Choose wisely.

I tell you with all serious that the four above mentioned points are more important to the success of your petition than whether you choose to print with a glossy or a matte finish.

BRB I will read this again after dinner, so I can think properly of what is all this about :)

  8. MATTE OR GLOSSY?!? I NEED TO KNOW!

    Seriously?!?! -__-

I went to Walgreen's website and uploaded all my photos from my trips to Morocco. I then did about 8 or 10 sheets in size 5x7 collage photos and each sheet was labeled at the top what it was from...1st Trip 2008, Our Wedding, etc... On each sheet there were about 8 to 10 photos. Yes it was a lot of pictures but it was neat and organized and nice to look at. Think about your job and having to look at all this type of stuff each day. Would you rather work on the petition that is neat and organized or the one that has 1000 pages of chats and 100 pictures+ ? Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do.

Thank you for your wishes, wish you the best.

  9. I did this with no problems. I took them to Staples and photocopied them on plain white paper. No RFE, no issues.

Also, 100 photos is overkill. We sent in about 30 and I think even that was way too much!

Overkill is when you spend time waiting for an approval to get finally a life with the one you love and in the end you get denied without any reason to mention. Knowing that Canada, China, + any kinda European countries or 1st world countries are not as tough as what people face in consulates such as the Moroccan one.

Thank you all again especially those who are respectfully responding to our questions and concerns :)

  10. Hi Ahmed,

We only sent two 8x10's with about 10 pictures on each, different sizes of course (like a collage). When I sent my original I129, I only sent two pictures LOL, I really didn't know to front-load at the time. One of the pictures was of me and him sitting in his home, the other was a picture of just me and his mother with her head resting on my shoulder smiling. The CO during the interview was only interested in the one of me and his mother, and held it the entire interview, occasionally looking at it Mohammed said. IDK why, but all the other pictures didn't matter LOL just that one.

Thank you Darlene for your input and hope Mohamed and you are doing very well where you are, and yeah we have pictures of Margaret bonding with mom, my sister, grandma, cousins' wives even with my 4 month old niece lol Trying to figure out and help my fiancee to prepare this since her school makes her days busy so we try to split the whole petition into tasks to accomplish whenever it's possible. We are optimistic about the upcoming step we are taking soon, and insha'Allah everything will go smooth. :)

  11. Thank you all for your responses :)

We still insist on sending all of the pictures we chose, but from what we've read on other people's posts it seems that in many cases the consulates make their decisions even prior to any kinda direct contact with the couple or interview so since we are legitimate we do believe that more photos and more proofs we can submit won't hurt our process but less may have some pitfalls.

    This is a joke, right?

Not really otherwise we will need to post it on something like Jokejourney.com instead xD

  12. We had to choose from 3k photos so it was hard to neglect some important moments when we are together with family members in different places. And we were reading on here that front loading is a good thing when it comes to deal with consulates in high fraud countries.

100+ is way too much. Tonnage does not equal better. Submit a selection of photos that cover the entirety of your relationship. Several is a good amount.

  13. Hello everybody,

Here is my first question on VJ forums :)

My fiancee and I are in the stage of choosing what photo paper will be better for our photos in the "proof of meeting in the last 2 years" portion of our petition, Can anyone help on what finish looks best for 100+ photos, Glossy or matte?

    Thank you all.

  14. You can send those 4 photos you got and try to take some screenshots of your video that prove you've been in some noticeable places. To print your screen on windows OS you can click on PRTSC SYSRQ and paste your screenshot in some software such Paint (win xp/win vista) for Mac OS you can use this combination of buttons Apple key ⌘ + Shift + 3 and it will be saved in your desktop. Good luck

  15. I just wonder about the currency they require for the visa application fee ($240). Should you pay in cash with MAD or you can pay with any other currency?

    hey zzyzz,

you need to fill out all the documents they sent in your packet, and bring them with the appointment letter and your $240 (unless your letter says a different amount, but this is what we had to take on this past Wednesday). You'll also need the affidavit of support document, 3 years of tax documents--i recommend tax transcripts directly from the IRS because then you don't have to send w-2's, a letter from her employer stating what her job and income are, how long she's worked there, and as many paycheck stubs as she can find (we attached 13 months' worth). I've seen several people say that the Casa consulat requires the I-864 as the affidvait of support doc, but houbi only had to give them the I-134 with the above listed supporting evidence. We made 2 separate files (one with all the official documents and one with evidence of our relationship). In the evidence file, I recommend you include all evidence you sent with your original dossier (you never know what they've lost in the process of sending your case from office to office), evidence you've accumulated since sending your original packet, and updated letters of intent. If you can have letters written on your side by friends and family that'll be helpful. EVERYTHING must be translated into English and certified as an official translation. Good luck!

  16. Thanks for your reply. We've actually put "/1234" since the PDF file won't allow you to enter just the year, we thought since my father didn't have any birth day or month, we won't just consider 01/01/1234 as his birth date. Instead we attached a supplemental sheet explaining this exception : "Due to the bad record keeping in some rural areas inMorocco, my father, ABC, only has a birth year, not a month or a dayon his birth documents. All we know is that my father was born in 1234."

We have the same situation with my fiance's mother. Just use 01/01/YYYY. That's not unusual, particularly for those born in rural areas.
