I got my approval. YAY!! Me and my husband are so happy that the days of saving every little piece of paper with our names on it are over. We feel like we can finally be together without having to prove it to anyone.

Is it normal for it to have been this early, only four months.

Hey everyone, I went in today and got my biometrics done early. It was no problem, they let me right in. For a moment, they were'nt happy that I was using my drivers license instead of my residency card. However, the notice clearly said that either would be fine. It took them one minute to look at it and let me through. I was in and out in under 30 mins. They seem to welcome early comers as long as you get there early in the day.

You will be eligible to file for citizenship (N-400) no earlier than 90 days before the 3 years anniversary of your residency (Green Card approval date, 7/13/2011 in your case).

Bio letter recieved today. Appointment scheduled for 6/3, at 8am. We will probably try to walk in beforehand because 8am is too ridiculously early!

Judging from other people here on VJ, a move while ROC is still pending may indeed trigger an RFE. However try to see it in its real dimensions: the reason they send an RFE in such cases is to make sure that the couple is still living together and that they didn't separate mid-process (i.e. one or the other moved out of the house). It's purely bureaucratic, it's annoying, but from their point of view, they need to tick their boxes. No point in delaying your plans waiting for the ROC decision, because based on current timelines, that could even come close to the end of the year. Move as planned, take on your new job, and just be sure to switch everything you have jointly to the new address, to have both names on the new lease, bank accounts, credit cards and what not, establish joint utility bills if possible, and generally make sure you have all the same evidence after the move that you had for your original ROC package. No point in sending them additional information if they don't ask for it. You may not get an RFE after all. It seems to be a trend when people move, but not everyone who moved mid-process got an RFE, so no reason to complicate things. You might be among the lucky ones, plus sending additional unsolicited evidence could in itself cause a delay. Do make sure you file change of address with USCIS though (form AR-11) and that your husband files sponsor's change of address (form I-865).

I know how you are nervous about it and nobody wants an RFE. Yes, it is true that it could delay the process by up to a month or so, but all it is, is USCIS requesting additional information, you providing it, and then being approved. Try to see it like that. Try to remember that they are just a bunch of bureaucrats who need to tick their boxes, nothing more and nothing less. Best of luck with your move!

Thanks Christi 85, I think you are right. I hope it won't trigger it, but on the bright side, now I will make sure to be extra careful on keeping documents during the move. We will have to change banks driver's licenses and everything. So I am sure if I have to send additional proof, I will have a lot. Better to know now than be surprised later. Thanks again for the kind and logical words.

I need some advice or simply words to help me not get anxious. Me and my husband have been planning our move from Miami to Nashville, TN since this January. I have a job lined up and he is still looking but already got his Tennessee teaching license. I keep reading posts that moving during this ROC process is a sure fire way to get an RFE. We are planning on doing the change of address sometime in July once we have already signed a new lease on a place and are living there. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am just realizing that the RFE will slow down the whole process, which I guess is fine. Its just the idea of one makes me nervous!

Should I be smarter about when I change the address, should I try to do it sooner or later. After I move and we switch all of our stuff (License, bank accounts) to Tennessee, should I go ahead and send an addendum package before they ask for it. I now I am being kind of ridiculous, but it is hard to find out the process will most likely be interrupted. Any thoughts are welcome.

We sent the file on April. 22 (CSC). Our check has cashed in the first week of May. But we haven't received NOA letter yet...is it normal?

Hey I have heard on here that they are supposed to get you an NOA within a month. If it gets too close to the month, you can make an appointment with info pass and they apparently stamp your passport for you so you have legal status while you wait. Either way, your check was cashed which means that they must have accepted your application and taken your money, so the NOA should come soon. You can also call them and tell them all of this in case it was lost in the mail, but that seems rare.

I had a hard time figuring it out. Just go to the last list and press the quote button. Once you get to the text screen erase the quote part by putting the cursor at the beginning of the text and erasing, it should get rid of the quote box and just look like regular text. Then make your modifications using the same size and style of font.

I'm so sorry, I just figured out ow this works. I sent my package on April 17th, they received it on the 19th. I guess my timeline needs to be adjusted. Sorry again

Nope, they have 30 days in which to send you the NOA1, so no need to worry yet. If you are worried though, you can always make an InfoPass appointment and have your passport stamped.

Thank you Christi85, I noticed after posting this that it is taking a couple of weeks for everyone to get their NOA even though they are dated for only a few days after the package is received. I think I will wait a week and see about making an infopass appointment then. I don't have to leave the country or anything, but I have to start a new job in July and they expect me to have permission to work.

I just received my NOA1 What's next now? Biometrics? can I start tracking my case online with the NOA receipt number?

Hello there could I (rosanahanahana) be added to the list? We sent it and saw confirmation that it was delivered on April 19th. They have not cashed the check or sent an NOA. It has been over a week, already. Should I be worried? My current Green Card expires May 24, which is less than a month from now. Is this just a normal delay due to government cuts?

Thank you , that is what I imagined. I just found a form to stop a parcel before it is delivered. Hopefully I can get them to send it back, if not, I'll just wait. I will call the hotline too just to make sure.

I am needing some advice on whether our ROC packet looks good as far as the amount of evidence. My husband is the US citizen and I am from Venezuela. We had no problems with our initial adjustment of status for me. We do not own a house together and we rent an apartment that is owned by my parents so we feel like including a made up lease signed by my parents will seem stupid or fishy. However, we have taken a lot of trips and do have a car together. Here is a list of evidence. Everything I am listing has both our names on it either together at the top of the document or one of us as a beneficiary.

A second retirement account from another state (me as beneficiary)

Travel insurance for a Europe trip

Claim on the travel insurance over lost baggage

Copy of a police report for a car accident in which we were both in the car

Geico claim for the car accident

College application in which I used my marriage to him as a way to get in-state tuition

Color copies of many envelopes and cards addressed to both of us (thank you notes, wedding invites, etc)

Letter from two friends that have known us since we started dating

Letter from my friend and former boss that has known me for many years (he is also a pastor)

Joint tax returns for the last two years

Copies of Flights we took together which include:

- 3 christmas trips to Boston (andy's family)

- trip to my birth place of Venezuela

- To and from Berlin, Germany

- flights we took within Europe where we visited 4 countries

- Train tickets within paris

- recent spring break trip to Puerto Rico (also has names of two friends that went with us)

- A hotel reservation from one trip to St augustine.

As far as photos we have:

- at least one picture from each of the above mentioned trips

- Us and Andy's family in Iowa

- Us and both our parents together during a cape cod trip in Massachusetts

- Many casual parties with our friends (including the people writing the affidavits)

- Many camping trips and smaller weekend getaways

This is about it. I feel like it seems like plenty, but I also worry that even though we have a lot of documents, that they are not as official as a mortgage. I was also wondering about having printouts of Facebook profiles where many people have commented on photos of the two of us. I don't know if this is done or not.

Anyways, any advice that anyone has would be so helpful as we are doing this on our own and I don't want to mess it up. Thank you all!!

Well first of all the interview was kind of short 30 min or less. He took my I-94 but not my EAD. He mentioned having to reapply after two years or something but nothing of ROC. I have been married since november and we brought wedding photos of us and all our relatives (mom dad, brothers etc). We did not however bring additional pictures, which in hindsight I would have taken. We brought our invitation and even program to our ceremony (he read this carefully). The only thing that worries me is that he asked me at one point about a prior job and address and then asked me if I was married . I began to answer "no" when i realized that I misunderstood him ( he had an accent) and he was asking me if I was married now. I ended up saying that I was married after hestitating. I was worried but he seemed kind of jovial and like he was joking or something. He then asked me my husbands name and that was it. He was very friendly with my husband, making jokes and comments about his hometown, but more cold with me. We showed him our bank account and a loan that we have together and other documents. He reviewed everything but never asked any questions about us. The only thing he asked is when we met, and he seemed to not even be listening when we answered. My lawyer tells me that is a good sign because , by law if there is suspicion they must move on to asking more questions about the relationship. He asked none at all. He said good bye and that he needed to do some internet checks and would get back to us by mail. It has been a month and we have heard nothing, no RFE nothing. I wasn't worried before since my lawyer told me that if the interview was so short and no relationship questions were asked then we were ok. But now I am wondering why it is taking so long. I hope this makes sense.
