  1. My fiance had her interview for the K1 visa last week and when she recieved the Passport back with the Visa inside, there was a letter with the passport that states as follows:

" After the immigration officer accepts your visa at the port of entry into the USA, the officer will process your application for a Permanent Resident Card( Form I-551) also known as a " Green Card". The card will be issued and mailed to you by the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Service( BCIS) after your admissionin into the USA. It confirms that you have entered the country as a legal resident. The immigration officer will give you temporary evidence of your permanent resident status ( usually a stamp in your passport) to use until the card arrives. Please note that you will be in permanent resident status as soon as you are admitted to the USA on your immigrant visa. The "Green Card" is evidence of your status, but you will have the status from your first day in the USA. This means you may apply immediately for a Social Security Number, accept employment, enroll in academic or vocational training, etc, without any special permissions or visas."

Is this true that she will be able to work immediately upon entering the US? Even before being married and before filing for AOS? Any information would be greatly appreciated. There is a great opportunity with my company if she able to begin immediately, so we are hoping this is accurate information.

  2. Our NOA2 was received on Sept 8 and forwarded to the NVC and has been sitting in Additional Review with them ever since. I have called them several times since then to find out if there are any problems, and why they are still holding our application. I am being told it is a random review and the only thing I can do is to call back in a few days to check the status. Its frustrating to know that it should only take 4-5 days at NVC and ours will be going on a month soon. Has anyone else had these "Random Additional Reviews"? Thanks for any insight.

  3. While I read these forums everyday and like many others on here, I am waiting patiently for this long process. I know it gets difficult at times waiting but I think we need to really think about how important this long process is. I know no one wants to be taken by a scam, and no one believes it could happen to me, but the fact is scams happen every day. I read so many great stories on here about 2 people that are in love waiting to be together and I know that most of the time that is the case. I also read stories of misery and how people change once they get to the US. I think these cases are few but they do happen. I myself, am grateful that we have a system that does not just open its borders up for all to enter. Many people have died making this country the great place it is. It upsets me to read stories of peoples lives being ruined because they thought someone really loved them. Sometime love truly is blind, and I am grateful that we have people who are trained to find these individuals who use the system. I think sometimes we lose focus on the reason for the wait. While I patiently wait along with you, I remind you, there is a reason for the wait and the process. True Love is patient, is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness.

  4. Hello everyone, This site is so helpful, and I couldnt imagine going through this process without it. I read the forums everyday and usually find the answers to my questions, but I have not seen anything on this. I submitted the I-129F at the end of May and since submitting, my Finace has changed employers, and now the employment information is not entirely accurate. I dont want to take a risk of any delays as a result. What would be the way to handle this? Submit a letter explaining the job change or let it ride as is and address it only if requested? Thanks for any help.
