  1. We basically sent everything they asked on the list that we could, bank statements, bill, tax info, utilities part in my name and some in his. Credit cards, not joint cause they dont do that, but we each have a card from each others account. Affidavits. Bank state ments do show the bills are paid from our account. We really sent everything. Thanks

    For reference, this is what we included in our I-751 package:

    • I-751 Application Form filled and singed by the both of us + the check.
    • Front and back copy of Tina's permanent resident card.
    • Copy of our drivers license and Shon's most current car registration.
    • Copy of Tina's work information.
    • Four sworn affidavits by U.S. citizen friends, attesting to our relationship and marriage.
    • Copy of our 2009 and 2010 W-2 forms.
    • Copy of our joint American Express credit card statements, joint ING savings and checking, Bank of America and Citibank statements.
    • Copy of our apartment lease renewal contract and Renter's insurance.
    • Copy our joint medical insurance and medical summaries.
    • Copies of joint auto insurance.
    • Copies of our utility bills and cell phone statements.

    • Copy of our airline reservations for a vacation back to Taiwan in November of 2010.
    • Copy of letters addressed to both of us from friends and families.
    • Photos of us with friends and family at events.

    I received my green card in the mail today via USPS Priority Mail packaging in a Flat Rate Mailing Envelope (Just an idea for people that's curious about what you'll be seeing in the mail).

    Here's the follow-up e-mail from USCIS which I received today:

    Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

    On October 5, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

    For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

  4. I just received an email from USCIS stating:

    " Application Type: CRI89 , PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

    Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

    On October 3, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283. "

  5. Finished biometrics today at the Santa Ana, CA USCIS. I arrived at around 8:00AM, and there was already a pretty decent line ahead of me, but was able to finish the process and leave at 8:50AM (approx.). The biometrics took only 10 minutes, it was the line that took a while.

    Tip: Definitely helps to moisturize your hands with lotion the night before or the morning of to make the fingerprint part of the biometrics process easier.

  6. Having a baby can mean one of three things:

    1) Forgot to use birth control

    2) Ignorant of overpopulation and the fact that raising a child costs about $250,000

    3) Aware of the fact that raising a child costs about $250,000 but wealthy enough to make one anyway.

    None of these is really evidence of a bona fide relationship. Giving one of the kidneys to the spouse would qualify though . . .
