Total of 180 days, no matter if it's ten 18-day trips or one 180-day trip.

I'd be careful. A 5-month trip can easily become a big pain in the neck when you apply.

Hi Thanks for the reply , no where on USCIS site it says one has to be in 180 days in a year .

does one have to be in USA for 180 days in a given year or there should be no single trip more than 180 days

i have been out 90 days in 2010 and so far 135 days in 2011 with no trip longer than 120 days .

Hi , I got gc in march 2008 . Kids nd husband in USA . I have taken 2 trips of 4 months and 2.5 months since oct 2010 and working overseas . i will pay federal nd state taxes on overseas income . i m paying insurances and driving license in usa . I plan to work another 3 months overseas after a trip to usa . Hope these trips will not affect my eligibility for n 400 in 2013 . Any input appreciated.Thanks
