  1. My fiancee went through the same thing at the New Delhi embassy for the K1 visa, but got the visa after she submitted the documents, she was issued a white 221g that submit more documents, I believe they asked for seven items on the paper. You must have affidavits from your fiancees family in India stating the engagement took place and that they approve of her relationship with you, also that they have no objections that your fiancee will marry you in the US and not in India. Your parents here in the US must write a letter and get it notarized, the letter must state that your parents agree with your relationship and acknowledge that you were engaged. You need a fiance letter of intent for yourself and foreign fiancee which states you will marry each other within 90 days of entering the United States, you need voters list for the last 5 years and voter Id card, you need engagement photo album, phone records, emails, any mail you sent one another. I know for a fact that the new Delhi embassy gives a huge problem to K1 filers if they did not have a proper engagement ceremony in India. You will definitely need a guest list with names and phone numbers. If you did not have a ceremony then both you and your foreign fiancee need to explain that in writing and get it notarized. Also you need a letter that explains how you met and why you decided to get engaged, your foreign fiancee will need to do the same, and it has to be notarized, for the letter write as much detail as you can and express your feelings for one another, I did all this and my fiancees visa was pproved 3 days after we submitted all the information. Also do you have the State department phone number here in America, because after you submit all this you can call that number give them your case number abd they can tell you if the visa was issued.

  2. If I were you I would put as much detail into the explanation of meeting in person. Type it up on Microsoft word and attach it the the I129f. Send pictures of your engagement, passport size photos for both you and your fiancee, passport copies of both of you, affidavits from her family in India stating the engagement took place, notarized letters from your parents/family here sating the engagement too place, keep all phone records, skype logs, or emails, print them and send them with i129f. The embassies in India are very strict when it comes to k1 visas, I just went through the whole process successfully, and make sure that if the engagement was at a banquet hall or hotel that you get a statement from that place stating so and so were engaged here on so and so date, also type up the fiancee letter of intent stating that you will marry her within 90 days of her arrival into America, and she needs to type the same.

  3. Hey,

We applied for a K1 visa. We did not have a lot of pictures together before the engagement because we got engaged on my last day in India in January. I did go back in May to visit and have a lot more pictures so my fiancee is planning on taking those to the interview on Sept 7th. VFS doesn't accept a lot of proof when you turn in packet 4 documents so my fiancee will take those with her when she goes for the interview.

We have gone through a lot of questions from the embassy reviews so hopefully that will help. What did you say when they asked you why you want to get married there and not India? Are you parents going to US for the wedding?

Based on your earlier posts, my fiancee will be taking the following documents to the interview.

1 Notarized explanation from you and your petitioner of how and when you first met and why you decided to get engaged.

2 List of all engagement ceremony guests, their relationship to you, their addresses and their phone numbers.

3 Itemized emails and/or postmarked letters or cards between you and your fiancee.

4 Photos of you and the petitioner before, during, and after your engagement.

5 Notarized statement signed by the applicant's parents discussing their views of the engagement.

6 Notarized copy of your fiancee's passport.

7 Voter's ID card and Voter's list for the past 5 years of the beneficiary.

8 Album of the engagement party and pictures showing on-going relationship

    9 Emails/phone logs

    Any other advise?

These documents that your taking with you may or may not be looked at by the CO interviewing your fiancee. The thing is we had all of them present at the interview and were still issued the 221g to submit these documnets to VFS with passport, the good thig is that if you have them all ready and are given the 221g just submit everything to VFS in delhi right after the interview. We were asked why we were getting married in US and not in india, my fiancee said the truth and that is because all my (US CITIZENS) family and friends are here in US and the wedding here can be planned better because I do not need to take like 5 weeks off from work to come to india and plan it, here in US I can plan it while I am at work and it will give me the oppurtunity to keep my job, my employer would never give me a month vacation. Also here in the US if you need to make a chage to the wedding you can, in India its hard because the planners are always trying to rip you off, and we have ice here lol. But the important thing is that she answers all the questions, they will repeat the same questions in different ways, make sure she gives the same answer. If you want you can email me your phone number and I can tell you everything better on the phone.

Also make sure that you have affidavits from your fiancees parents and family in india stating that the engagement took place. Your fiances parents also should make an affidavit that states they have no objections that there daughter will marry you in the united states. What also helps is a updated fiancee letter of intent from both you and your fiancee stating that you will marry each other when she enters the US.

  4. Thanks for the replies, FLYINGM14 this message is for you, just make sure when you go to the interview that you are prepared for all kinds of questions, most likely if you did not submit a lot of the things asked or on the 221g for additional documents with your I129 packet they will give you a white colored 221G and ask you to submit it with passport to vfs. Let me know how your interview goes and let me know what documents you have submitted. Oh did you apply or k1 or K3.

  5. Okay so I called the State department and they have told me your fiancees visa was issued yesterday. Here is a little background on my story, we had the K1 interview at Delhi in July and were given a 221g white slip asking to submit some documents along with passport to VFS, we deposited those documents with the passport and got the visa issued about 4 days later, my question is how long does the VFS website take to update when you enter you passport number under "Track passport", because it keeps saying under process at us embassy/consulate. How many days after visa is issued will it take for it to be delivered.

  6. I needed some assistance or advice, but any help would be great. My fiancee had her interview for the K1 fiancee visa at New Delhi and was given a white colored 221G that said submit the followoing documents with your passport to the VFS, the documents asked for were:

1 Notarized explanation from you and your petitioner of how and when you first met and why you decided to get engaged.

2 List of all engagement ceremony guests, their relationship to you, their addresses and their phone numbers.

3 Itemized emails and/or postmarked letters or cards between you and your fiancee.

4 Photos of you and the petitioner before, during, and after your engagement.

5 Notarized statement signed by the applicant's parents discussing their views of the engagement.

6 Notarized copy of your fiancee's passport.

7 Voter's ID card and Voter's list for the past 5 years of the beneficiary

She just submitted the documets and tons of documents as proof of relationship asked for with her passport to the vfs a couple days ago. My question is how long does the embassy take to look at the documents, do they issue the visa if they are satisfied with all the documents. With the above documents we also submitted a reciept from the hotel where our engagement took place, we also submitted a statement written from the hotel stating that the 2 of us were engaged on so and so date, and we submitted the engagement album. I have also made 2 trips to india after my engagement, we also submitted the enagement album ,what should I be expecting to hear next, if anything at all.

Let me give you a little more info, we are both punjabi sikhs, she is only like 7 months older than me. Please give me any advice that may be helpful.

  7. do u have any idea, why they sent.. i mean did your fiance said something, or did they spotted something on your proof of relationships..??

No the interview was fine, just the CO did not want to see anything at the interview, she rather have us submit it at VFS so they can review it carefully. There were no red flags. I think New Delhi is a high fraud embassy, so they are careful when it comes to revewing information.

  9. Is that for sure that they do not make a decision in less than a month. When we submitted all the docs they asked for we submitted everything, I MEAN EVERYTHING, if not more than what they wanted. It is frustrating that the Embassy does this to people and makes people with legitimate cases wait to be with there loved ones. Is there anyone else out there who has gone through this.

  11. NOA2 ( Petition) approved ....I feel relieved... it is understatement!!!

    My NOA1 date was April 13, 2011.

Congratulations, after your NOA2 is approved and sent to india is where it can get tricky a bit. First of all the embassies over there say they send the benificary packet 3 but it never gets there, usually a day after the embassy recieves the NOA2 they send packet 3 but it never gets delivered (especially the new delhi embassy), if you want to know when the embassy receives your NOA2 call Department of State at 202-663-1225 press option 1 then 0. For packet 3 all you need to do is download ds 230 part 1 and 2, fill it out and email it back to the embassy as an attachment, you can scan it on to your pc and email it, that email address is infousdelhi@vfshelpline.com, in the subject line put pakcket 3 along with your case number and send it to them, then keep calling Depatment of state and asking them if they scheduled an interview date, they will tell you, also in your email to the embassy regarding packet 3, ask them to email you packet 4 and send a physical copy to the required address.

  12. I was just wondering if anyone has gone to the New Delhi embasy for a K1 visa and was issued a 221G requesting more documents be submitted along with passport to VFS and has anyone been given the visa afterwards, plus my case is valid for an extra four monhts because the interview was after the validity date. The items they asked for were:

  13. Thanks Bec_Dipu - I think you might be right about the mail! We've had our own problems with the mail there, though, so it's possible it's lost or (shock!) slowly coming. Any other tips? How was the interview last week?!?

Yea, New Delhi either dosent send packet 3 or it just gets lost, your best bet is to download all of packet 3 contents from the US embassy new Delhi wedsite, you just need ds230 part 1 and 2, fill it out and email it to infousdelhi@vfshelpline.com, in the subject line put your case number and state packet 3, it will take them a couple of days to process everything, also in your email state that you would like a electronic copy and paper copy of packet 4 and appointment letter.

After you send the email you can also cal Department of State and ask if a interview date has been scheduled, that number is 202-663-1225, option 1 then 0.

  14. I wouldn't take 300 pages of phone records that is absurd. The problem is the application was not properly documented and that is the reason for 221g.

CO has mind made up before sitting down to do interview. If you failed to send the stuff in to begin with

its not suprising they didn't want to look at it during the appointment. That is not what that time is for.

Send in the stuff they ask for. Don't send 300 pages of telephone reciepts unless you want to be denied on priniciple

I have all the stuff they want, do you think since they asked for the passport along with the documents that they issue the visa if they are satisfied with what you send them.

  15. Hello, I just needed some advice. My fiance had her K1 fiancee interview at the US embassy in New Delhi and was issued a white colored 221G. I think a week before the interview she went to VFS to deposit items but the lady working there only took 2 pages of our phone records which we had 300 pages of, she said the embassy only needs two pages, also only took like 2 pages of emails, she did not take any of the affidavits from my fiancees family members stating the engagement took place and that they approve she will be marrying in the united states, she also did not take the engagement pictures, my families notarized letters stating the engagement took place and that they approve nor did she take both of our letter of intents, airline tickets, or the letter from the hotel where our engagement took place.I have been to India 2 times after my engagement, I am thinking the CO did not have enough time to review our case and at the end she issued a 221G white slip requesting the following:

We have all of the documents mentioned and will be submitting them to the VFS along with the passport on Monday, can anyone tell me from there experience how long it takes for the embassy to process everything and issue the visa, and what the embassy process is, do they call the beneficiary for a 2nd interview or do they just place the visa in the passport if they are satisfied with the submitted documents.

  16. I do not think that I can reschedule. The paper they gave me says submit with your passport the following documents to the VFS office serving your area.
