  1. hi i think your nbi is still okey and i dont think that you will have any troubles in submitting them in USEM, coz the nbi certificate is good for 1 year. plus based on my experience my interview was july 18,2011 then i submitted my nbi certificate to them that was going to expire on oct. 28 2011 i didn't got any problems with my documents and they did accept it:-) so no worries your nbi cert. is still good

  2. hi all, my husbands interview is on sept 9. We submitted nbi for the NVC stage dated june 22. Now my concern is to get a new NBI clearance it would take 45 days because of the new system. Is it ok to submit the NBI dated june 22 , will they ask for the NBI really? please enlighten me. thanks all.

hi bea hmm no worries about s nbi mo as long as pasok p xa s 1 year expiration nya pwede p yan.kc ako nga interview ko was july 18 then ung ginamit ko n nbi will expire this coming oct. 21 2011.pwo ala nmn akong na encounter n probz on the day of my interview.

basta original ung ibibigay mo s knila hindi photocopy.

thanks and gudluck s interview mo...

wag k kbhan kc madali lng talaga ang interview as long as completo k s mga requirements and confident k sumagot (smile always)..

    approve k for sure..

    godbless:-)

  3. I went to my interview today and do all the process correctly. From finger scanning, pre-interview up to final interview. There are a lot of question on my pre-interview but i was able to answer all. On my final interview, there's only 3 questions and when answered, the CO said "No problem. Everything is Okay. Have a nice trip". Then he just told me that, USEM just need an explaination from NBI. As per USEM website "An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record”, "No pending criminal case” or “With derogatory record.” I got the latter. My question is am I approved or not? How long will it take the USEM to get the NBI explaination? Oh, they also got our passports (me and my daughter).

I would gladly appreciate anyone who has the same experience and share it with me. My husband is so upset with what happened.

    Thanks.

you and your daughter is already approved all you have to do is send the letter to the USEM. and wait for your visa to be delivered by 2go courier.. if you want you can also send email to the usem IVManilaReplies@state.gov

or call them Telephone: (632) 301-2000

    godbless:-)

  4. Question: Can you just pick up visa in a 2go office in your area rather than them delivering it to your house?

yes you can..thats what i did i put the address of the 2go office where i want to pick up my visa on the 2go form that was given to me by the lady in the window 69..

then 2go office will inform you if your visa is ready to pick up.

  5. what are the chances of picking up visa a couple of days after the interview in manila? If I get my girl in on a Wednesday or Thursday? could we pick up visa on Friday, Saturday or Monday from 2go? What are the chances of this? or it is better to just take her back to the village and wait?

in my case my interview was july 18 monday then i got my visa on hand on july 22 saturday..it took just 5days i picked it up at 2go branch in laguna coz that's where i stayed for awhile, then booked my flight july 24..

hmm if ever she wait and pick up her visa in manila,is she still going back to her village?

  6. look at your appointment confirmation

type of delivery: if you put home delivery then they will sent it to your address...

coz after my name was called at window 72,she just said that all my documents are ok. now and just wait for my visa...they didn't gave me anything so i asked the lady if i can pick it up on the 2go branch then she said yes and gave me a white 2go delivery form to fill up and gave it to window69..:-)

  7. rylin: I have the same problem. I went to get my NBI Clearance yesterday (July 7) & unfortunately my name has a "hit". They asked to go back on July 27 for the release. My interview is scheduled on the 18th. When I called NBI yesterday, the lady suggested I go to the NBI main office (Taft Ave., Manila) to talk to Special Concerns about expediting the 'clearing' process.

So today, I went to NBI UN Ave. & inquired about my problem. There was a lot of people there lining up for the NBI Clearance. I was able to go inside since I showed the receipt from yesterday. But the man I spoke to said I can just show the receipt during my interview since USEM is aware of the transitions/changes happening at the NBI. According to him, there was nothing more they can do to help me speed up the process.

During this time, I informed my fiancee of what was happening & he called USEM to verify. The representative told him I can still attend my interview while waiting for my NBI Clearance (I have the receipt s proof of payment). I just have to inform the CO about it & wait for further instructions on how to submit afterwards. Hopefully everything goes well. :innocent:

7teener =>hmmm our nbi office here in davao is also doing the system transitions/changes so thats why it will take 3 weeks before they release my certificate.so if my name has a hit then it will take another 2 weeks for me before i could get my nbi certificate.(ugh it will make me go crazy lol  ) so what i did is i took my last year nbi clearance from my employer and it will be expired this coming oct. 28 . then i also went to the police baracks so i can get a police clearance (travel /abroad) just for back up for my nbi that is going to expire on oct. plus my receipt that proves that my recent nbi certificate is on process...

anyway what time is your interview on the 18th? mine is 6:45am

anddddddd are you done with your medical exam. in SLMEC?

    thanks and godbless

    goodluck to all of us:-)

  8. the validity of the nbi certificate is 1 year starting from the date it was issued..

a friend told me that if i get the very recent nbi certificate to show the embassy it will be alot smoother like there will be no questions regarding on my papers.so i planned that im going to get my nbi 2 weeks before my interview, i decided to get it on july 7 and that was yesterday....so i went to the nbi (davao) to get an nbi certificate but i was surprised coz the releasing waiting time will take 3 weeks. and ill be needing that certificate by july 18 lol. :bonk: ugh i didnt know that the nbi was changing there system thats why its taking too long than the usual..

  9. My fiance lives on a ranch that does not receive postal mail. What the people of this ranch usually do is travel to the nearest town and pickup mail from friends or family. Now, I know a number of forms required in the K-1 Visa application require that I supply USCIS with my fiance's current home address.

Now she has a physical address (because they have SKY-TV and electricity) - which might suffice for a technical "home address."

But for the purposes of her receiving her packets once the K-1 is approved, she will be out of luck. Is there some way around this? Can I specify in my K-1 Application to send her materials to a specific address? Or should I risk providing an incorrect home address in efforts to get her materials to another mailing address?

    Thanks!

hi maybe you can send an email to the embassy asking them if they already have your file in there system then they will reply to you after 3-4 working days along with the instructions that you need to know on what to do next plus in that email they will give you a link on where to go to get and print those forms like ds-156,156k and 157...and with that email your fiance can print it and bring that as her official letter..i have done it also coz here in my hometown it will take forever before i will be able to get my letter.so instead of waiting for that letter to come which i doubt it wont lol.. i emailed the embassy where i will be having my interview and got the reply along with all the info. and requirements that i need to comply before my interview date..

you just have to find the email add. of the embassy of your country..

then ask them about your case.. put your beneficiary's full name , uscis receipt number , your case number

    and wait for there reply..

i just read about that on one of the vj members post and i said hmm theres no harm in trying so i tried and it did work..

godbless and goodluck to all of us!

  10. Hello everyone please i need your help and ideas about the requirements of K-1 visa. Im from Philippines, my question is do i need to have the original form of the following Form needed the Form 1040, w2 and Form I-134 of my fiance? And is the Form I-134 need to be notarized by an attorney? Is it not possible if my fiance just scan those form and i'll be the one to print it out here? Please please please help me. thanks

hmm well ours we make sure that the w2,w4 (stating his job,how long he worked in that company and his wages),form 134 ,paystubs and intent to marry letter is all originals..

better be safe than sorry i think sending them in your place wont hurt his pocket :D

and about the form 134 if it needs to be notarized by an attorney ,i dont think that it needs to be notarized by an attorney he can just download, print it and fill up the forms with his signature..then send it to you along with the other documents that you'll be needing in your interview.

your reply is very much appreciated. thank you and godbless!

  12. We paid May 18th. But after hours on the phone with several different people at the embassy, I figured out what the issue was. They finally got the duplicate records deleted, and then we got hung on the receipt number. It turns out that BPI charged us for a Trader Visa instead of a Fiance Visa. It was PHP 16,770 instead of PHP 15,050. Now they have to call BPI in the morning to verify and then change it in their system.

Don't be patient with them. If you do not press them hard, nothing will get done. I have had to become a thorn in their side to get this issue moving. It is still not resolved yet, but will be tonight US time if I have to stay on the phone all night long.

hi... hmm we are almost in the same situation i encountered a problem in paying the visa fee coz the bpi had a mistake on posting how much is the visa fee converted into peso they werent able to update their chart and the teller of the bank are not informed or not updated of how much is the payment for the k-1 visa.which they should know even if the 350$ is constant but if you pay it in peso it changes evry week coz of the exchange rate.so not knowing about that i paid the 15050 pesos that is in their chart.and when i paid it on the teller the teller ask me where did i get the amount of the k-1 visa fee then i said oh i got it on your chart and he said oh ok. then after that he accepted my payment of 15050 got my receipt and went home..after a week i tried to schedule my interview but then when i put my date of receipt it says that i should contact the bank coz im short on payment of 350pesos..so after that i immediately went to the bank and told them and wowww it was in their copy that the k-1visa fee is 15400pesos.so i told them u should have updated your chart coz the payers will assume especially the first timer that what is in your chart is the exact payment in peso.so after that they advised me to come back after 4 working days but gladly they were able to fixed it the next day..so after that we started scheduling our appointment and gladly yesterday i got my interview schedule on july 18, 2011..

    godbless :innocent:

  13. hmmm you can pay the visa fee even if you havent got any letter from the embassy.

after we received the letter from the nvc that our case was forwarded at the embassy i went to the bpi and paid the amount of 350$ they didnt even ask for my mnl case number they just ask for my passport and the payment lol.

but take note if your paying in peso amount better ask them what is the rate for the week or the amount that u should pay in peso.coz it gave me headache at the bpi coz the bpi didnt updated their chart for visa fees so i copied the amount that was in the chart and paid the amount of 15050 pesos but then after a week i tried to schedule online and it says that my payment is short of 350 pesos!then i was like whattttttttt???? so i went to the bank and ask them and they did confirm that there was a mistake on the payment and told me that every week the payment in peso changes because of the currency rate from dollar -peso and the fee now is 15400 pesos and not 15,050.ugh so i told them if thats the case u should've updated your chart or the teller should be always informed how much is the payment for the k-1 visa so there will be no mistake!

so they advised that i just need to wait and go back at the bank if they already fix the problem and they give me 2-4 working days.wowwww but luckily it was fast than what they said .yesterday i was able to pay my visa fee.

and now what im struggling is how to be able to schedule my appointment coz everytime i enter my info in the k-1 scheduling appointment it gives me error message ugh!

geeeeee i think all we have to do is wait and never give up on calling the embassy phone number even if how many times they hung up on us lol....

    godbless to everyone!

always remmber everyday is one more day closer !

  14. IM confused and stressed right now lol... :crying:

we called the embassy last week and they told as that our case is already in there electronic file and still waiting for the physical file to arrive,it was sent May 17.

i keep on calling the number of the usem manila but the automated answering machine transferred me to another line telling me if i want to schedule an interview appointment i should complete and fill up the online DS-160..

has anyone tried to fill up that online form?

coz i tried scheduling my interview in the website that they told me but then i cant move forward coz they keep asking me for the CEAC bardcode.and the only way to get that barcode is to complete the application of the ds-160..

what got me worried is if i file that ds-160 and submit it so i can get the ceac barcode is what if the embassy will send me the letter and the form that they want me to fill up is the ds-156,156k and the ds-157 and not the ds-160?

ugh i really dont know what to dooooo please help..

    thank you very much. :luv:

    godbless us all :innocent:

  15. Rylin -> from what I've read here, since you already have your MLA Case Number you can sked and have your medical even without the packet 3 or instructions from the embassy. I've read somewhere here that some beneficiaries never get their packet 3 or 4 or they get them late. once USEM have your case number in their system you can set for an interview appointment. for now start compiling the rest of the requirements like CENOMAR, BC, proof, NBI and the support documents from your fiance. That's what I've been doing while we're waiting for our MCN. :) :)

ohh thank you verymuch lovely joy..hmm yup today im going to pay the visa fee and wait for 3 days so we can schedule my interview so once were done with it.then maybe a week before my interview ill do the medical.geee coz the plane ticket to davao - manila is quite expensive.. :crying:

oh joy do i need to get a police clearance too?

plus i already have my nbi dated november 2010 so it means it will expire on nov.2011, but i was wondering if the consul will accept it?coz i have read in one of the post that the consul wants to have the recent documents..does it includes the nbi?

and with the cenomar i will get it maybe a week before i fly to manila for my medical and interview. coz the expiry for the cenomar now is 1 month.

geeee thank you very much lovely

  16. The only role of NVC for K-1 Visa is to assign a case number and forward it to the U.S. embassy of the beneficiary's country.

The next thing to do for you since you are a filipina is found here:

    http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Revised%20K1%20Instruction%20Packet%20_3__rtf2_001.pdf

Give it at least 10 working days for your MNL case number to be inputted at the embassy's system for scheduling.

thank you very much harvey..atleast now i know what to do .. today im going to pay my visa fee at the BPI.

after 3days we will start calling the embassy so we can schedule my interview..

    thank you sooo much..

    godbless us :innocent:
