Go to the local SSA office near you and ask them about the status of your SSC. If nothing else you should be able to get a print out with the number on it. Did you update your mailing address with the USPS? My wife's SSC was returned by the letter carrier because her last name was not the same as mine and we did not inform the USPS that she now resided at that address. Forget that their wedsite states all correctly address mail is delivered. It appears it is up to the letter carrier and they will attach a return to sender label on the mail if they believe the person does not live there.

I don't have the issue with mailing address, since my last name was the same with my husband's name. And also I already got my GC last week in this address. Hi all, I've been 3 weeks in USA. I already got my GC last week. But until now, I still haven't got my SS. Coz my friend came to US by CR1 visa too, and she got GC and SS in the same time, 1 month ago. So, what I want to ask is should I apply it or I should wait till it came? thanks before

My husband call them a few minutes ago, but it closed. I guess we try to call them again tomorrow morning.

This is also the Department of State Hotline, they know everything about the casefile once it leaves NVC.

Have the USCitizen petitioner call every few days, you are seeking 'casefile opened' timetick -

ONCE THE CASEFILE IS OPENED, then the IV Unit in Jakarta knows about the casefile, is possible to reschedule, only past that timetick occuring.

I will ask my husband to call them. Should he told them the story, that we want to reschedule interview date but the embassy keep saying that they haven't received my file. Or simply asking where the file now? thanks before

I had CC the same date you did, and had my interview scheduled for july 29th

Anyway... i checked DHL tracking info and my file left NVC on the 11th and arrived at London embassy on the 13th. I emailed london to request an earlier date but they said they didnt have my file yet. I queried this and said well " it shows my file has been signed for at the embassy, so surely it is there somewhere?" . after this, they assigned me a new interview date, the 25th, so only 4 days sooner but hey every little counts

So you could try check the DHL log to see if it is there or not. chances are it is but just hasnt been put in the system yet, often this is done 2 weeks before interview, only you request it sooner.

I already check the DHL. It said the package was sent on June 10 and arrived at US embassy Jakarta on June 14. But the consular officer on the phone seems harsh and rude and she don't want to listen more words from me. Keep saying, 'HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE FILE!'

Call the Visa Specialist office. They know exactly where the file is. 202-663-1225. As soon as the recording comes on, press 1 then 0 and wait for the operator.

its been a month since my CC, but US embassy jakarta still haven't received my file. My CC is June 9, and I got an email from NVC on June 29 for the interview date. I want to reschedule it. So my husband sent an email last week to US Embassy, but got a reply that said that they haven't received my file. I try to call them today, but they said they still haven't received my file. Is it normal? what should I do? should I call NVC to ask?

they ll send u/ ur spouse an email telling u the case has been completed at the nvc and that u ve been scheduled an interview - with time and location of the interview.

in my case, they sent that mail immediately - to my husband. i havent got mail from anyone so far.

u can always call and ask them - but the nvc wont have any more info for u since the online login fails after the case is completed at the nvc - so the will not have any more infos for u on th phone. i think the right place to call or send an email to is ur embassy.

but i m sure its all normal.maybe there are other people filing at the same embassy who can tell u how long it took them to get th interview appointment.

First off, you won't be getting an email saying your case was complete. Only those doing EP will get this email.

Next, you have to wait for an interview date to be scheduled from NVC before your case is shipped to the embassy. I don't know the wait time for your embassy, so I have no idea when you should expect an interview date to be scheduled. Just keep calling NVC and DOS and asking whether an interview date has been scheduled. When it has, an email will be sent to you with all the information you need for the interview.

my case is completed on June 9 in NVC. But I haven't received any notification about that, nor email, nor package 4, nor interview date. I emailed my embassy and asking about my interview date, but they told me that they haven't received my file from NVC. I called NVC over and over asking about that, but they just keep saying just wait until they have an interview date from embassy. I had case complete the same day, and my interview was booked for july 29th at UK embassy.

Have you tried tracking your package from US to your local embassy? Mine reached london on the 13th.

if Indonesia participates in the '2nd week of the month appointment scheduling' then I'm afraid you've missed it.

See, it's 'case complete' then 'final review' then the casefile is put into the scheduling queue.

IF it made it into the queue prior to the 2nd week in June, you'd be IN the queue for scheduling.

Suggest yer USCitizen husband call NVC back, ask when the final review was completed, ask about the appointment scheduling queue.

My case is completed on June 9, but I haven't received email or notification from NVC. I called them the day after my case is completed. They said I will received my interview date in about 10 days. Since today is more than 10 days, and I still got no date for the interview, I just wondering what should I do?! I ask my husband to call NVC last friday, but they said to wait a couple days more. I sent a letter to US embassy by email, asking a date for the interview. They have had replied me yesterday. It said, they haven't received my file from NVC. Now it makes me very sad, why the embassy haven't received my file while NVC already sent them for about a weeks ago. Is there a way to check where is the package really are right now? I think I wanna cry right now, cause I am really really tired with this whole process

Our case was completed on Monday 6/6/2011 and we received an email from the NVC yesterday night 6/9/2011 with the interview date for the end of July. However, I must say that it depends on the embassy and the availability of interview slots. It should not take long... hang in there!

Congrats on CC. NVC usually schedules interview dates during the second week on the month for the following month. So you should hear from them next week.

What should I prepare for the interview? Is there any other payment?

Was told today we officially have CASE COMPLETE. It has been almost exactly one month spent at NVC .... And no RFE's..... thank god!!

Called and asked about interview and they fed me the "we only schedule them the 2nd week of the month" line, and the guy said I hadn't been given one yet, but hopefully I will make it into julys schedule. If not I'll be pushed back until August. Is there any way with the embassy you can request cancellation slots, or is that not how it works?

He told me to call back early next week and see if i made the july cut.

Congrats to us! Since I got my case completed too today. I have sign in failed and then I call the automated machine. I haven't call the officer, should I call them to ask the interview date? Will they notify us by email? Is there any form to fill out to take to the interview? What else should we prepare?

I call the NVC today, the machine said my case completed yesterday. Now I have to wait for the interview date. I want to know the average time to get the date from the case completed. Whether they will notify us by email? Since I haven't gotten any notice until now. Should I call them and speak to the officer to get the date?

When I first called when I got the first notice the man told me that sometimes it takes some time to get from the mail room and into their system to give it two weeks. He told me not to worry so much this is common as it is two diff departments and they don't do things at the exact same time.

The next time I called they basically said the same thing and that went on for a few days.

Finally the last time I called the girl told me that they did receive them...they are loaded and they are accepted and they closed the case and did the final review that day.

Just takes time...after all...we would love for our packages to get from being signed for and directly loaded but that just isn't possible so we rely on the human effort and have to remember that it's just ppl doing the processing it does take time.

This part of it is stressful for sure and a very good friend of mine reminded me as we approach our interview next week...i'm a total wreck..i'm emotional im tired...etc...she said remember when your running a race its the last phase that gets you the most bcos your tired and worn out emotionally and physically... but the finish line is in sight so keep going the distance and you will get there...

Our NOA2 was May 27th but NVC still has not received anything yet.. Is this normal? We've called everyday and of course they say it can take between 2-4 weeks, but looking at everyones timelines it seems like NVC usually receives it within 7 days.. Why would ours be taking longer??? Anyone else having this problem??

my NOA2 was March 28, and I got the mail from NVC May 7(where the date on the mail was April 14th). And I haven't got any email. So I waited more than a month to get my case number. That sucks and so wasted time, but everything so much better then. Just be patient, and never lose hope.

RyS - anyone can update the wiki. I know HOW to do it, I'll take a stab at it this week..
