  1. Ok so I mailed original ds230 august 29 while in Jamaica. Also emailed ds230 but I haven't got a response at all not even the reciept email.

I've used both emails provided on embassy info site link on here.

Also wrote 2nd inquiry plus case number In the subject line.

    Also emailed from my work.

    Idk what's going on

Did you also make sure to include you and your beneficiary's full names and date of births in your email message. They wouldn't give me a date until they received that info too. Try resending the email and form and including that info.

  2. I am reading others profile and I am happy for those who are making it through the whole procedures; however, based on what i've observed on here I don't understand how is that I put in my I-129F b/f some people and they received their NOA2 and their packet3 and 4 before me. Once again my NOA2 was approved 6/17/11. He got packet3 August 4 and send it in the 8th, and my fiance and I are still waiting for packet 4 a month after sending in packet 3, and NOA2 expires 17th of next month. Also, I didn't have any problem with my paper works, which means I did not receive any RFE. Can someone please explain how is that possible?

    Thank you VJ family.

Maybe telling u what I did will help, since I am sure I am 1 of the people whose cases moved quickly that u refer to. I made sure my fiance emailed his ds230. I don't know if u sent urs by mail or email. They didn't respond to it & then I realized it was b/c he didn't include our names and dates of birth. I resent it with that info and the 2nd Inquiry and nvc case # header & we got it right away. They always responded to me by email within a week, so keep trying to do it that way. I hope I was helpful.

    Good luck!

  3. Can someone tell me if my beneficiary needs to provide the exact location of his parents? He doesn't keep in contact with his father and the form requires his father's address. Does he now have to track down someone that isn't in his life or can he simply put the city, state and country without the street address location? He knows the rest of the info. Also, his dad lives in the US (if that helps).

    Thanks.

  4. we had a friend whose 129 f was approved 3 weeks ago and the NVC still has no record in there system .he had to emailed his noa 2 so they could track it has any body else had this happen

NVC finally told me today that my petition has reached them after exactly 4 weeks of waiting. No one mentions it now, but it is taking about a month for petitions to be "found" by NVC. I had called alot and then sent in a copy of my inquiry last Wednesday and I received an email from them this morning saying that they didn't have my petition and were reaching out to USCIS. I called this evening and was told that my petition entered their system at 5:30 this evening.

I know some people get have theirs show up at NVC in like a week or two but take a look at the stats page in your country portal and see how many people don't have their received in less than a month. Have your friend keep calling, but not everyday. It will just drive them mad. It will happen between 4 and 5 weeks most likely.

  5. Yes! I received my NOA2 on July,28th and it says that the petition has been forwarded to the listed consulate. I called USCIS and the operator told me that I-129F petitions are directly sent to the consulates whereas I-130 petitions are sent to NVC. I'm not sure if it's a new policy or the guy in USCIS just wanted to get rid of me!

Yea, mine said it was going straight to the consulate. I don't know if it is a new process for them to go to the consulate, but everyone's past experience is stating not. It is just disheartening to see so many people from the end of June still not have NVC received dates. I don't know if this has anything to do with summertime since the slowdown appeared in the middle of June. The worst part about it is most of the petitions on visajourney that recently have been given received dates are coming out of CSC. It is like the NOA2 quicker processing from CSC over NVC all over again.

wisjam, maybe we will get our petitions received by the time the other jamaica visajourney members who have later NOA2 dates than us, and whose petitions have already been received in NVC and Kingston, have their interviews. Someone's got to keep the humor going on this sad thread.

  6. I think there are some good and well-informed reps too. Give them a call today and I hope you will get different response. I got the NVC letter yesterday and the date on the letter is 11 days behind from the date that the NVC told me they received my petition from the USCIS. I think they don’t have a good way of communicating system.

    Good luck

    Hi Love Eth,

I'm sorry if I seemed bitter. I was just having fun at the NVC's expense since they obviously didn't give me a correct answer. I did call back today and was told this time that if the letter says my petition is being forwarded to the consulate that I should contact the consulate directly and that it won't go through NVC. What do you think about the feasibility of that new response, lol. These people just crack me up. I'm glad you got your packet though. Woo hoo!

I think the back log at NVC might be because people are on summer vacation, and the only people that are there at the moment are the new employees that might not have the time for vacation. Therefore, we suffer at the slow processing and poor assistance. What do you think?

  7. Hi everyone,

what's up with NVC? I called two times and two different operators told me that my petition doesn't go to NVC but straight to the consulate since that's what is written on my NOA2...I know for sure that this is totally not the case since all petitions stop by at NVC; It's this a new rule for certain consulates or these guys are simply clueless?

    Thank you

I would like to know the same thing too. I called this evening and that is the same spiel that I got. While yesterday I called and someone told me that my approval notice wasn't the final one because USCIS is supposed to send me another notice that says my petition is being forwarded to NVC. I explained it was for a K-1 and the lady still insisted.

If there is anyone out there, who was not able to locate their petition by calling NVC but later received a notice from the Embassy that it arrived, please chime in. We are both confused and could use the help.

    Thanks!

  8. Thanks to you both. That rep sounded like a dummy. She didn't even mention K-1s when I spoke to her. When I told her that is what I had she said it stays for a short time at NVC but still insisted I contact USCIS for the second notice after she told me my notice was not an approval. It says approved on it. I will call them today. Hopefully I wont get any dummies this time, lol!

    Take care.

  9. Your first letter which is called NOA1 will let you know that your petition for alien fiance has been accepted. Your second letter which is called NOA2 will say that your petition has been approved and forwarded to NVC. Once your petition is forwarded to NVC you will need to call them about any further information about your petition. NVC will send you a letter (does not always happen, I had to call them)stating that your paperwork has been sent to the consulate in Jamaica.

Once the consulate receives your paperwork they are supposed to send what is called a packet 3 (DS-230 form) to your fiance' to fill out and send back to the Embassy so they can schedule the interview. This is where it can get real frustrating because your fiance may never see the packet 3 and you or your fiance will have to request it from the embassy via email.

In a perfect world if you don't hit any road blocks, your fiance will receive the interview letter. At that time your fiance can schedule the medical exam and pay visa fees at NCB Bank.

There is a K-1 guide in the guide section of VJ and there is also alot of info in the K-1 forum. Good Luck

No, my approval notice says that it has been forwarded to the consulate, not NVC. I have the NOA1 from March and the NOA2 from July, but when I called NVC the rep told me that I will have another notice that says forwarded to NVC. I already have the NOA2 but it says the consulate. Will USCIS send me another notice that says it is forwarded to NVC, even though they already said it has been forwarded to the consulate? That is the confusion that I got from the rep I spoke to. I'm already approved. I just don't know if I am supposed to see another approval notice after. That is what I was told.

    Thanks!

  10. I called NVC tonight and spoke to a rep that said that USCIS will send me more than one approval notice. The first one says my K-1 petition has been forwarded onto the consulate, while the second one says that my petition has been sent from USCIS to NVC.

Has this happened to anyone else?

    Is this true?

The rep also said that I should contact USCIS because since I didn't receive the second notice USCIS still has it and it hasn't been passed on to NVC yet.

Can anyone who has had their petitions sent to their embassies confirm this? It's for a K-1 also, so the path for a CR-1 or I-130 may differ.

    Thanks,

    S

  11. Thanks Brownie. I will take your advice and send the letter that they gave me and send my bank statements with the deposits highlighted. That is what the lady at the bank said I should do since they don't give a list of deposits.

I was just checking to see if anyone had sent the form without bank statements, but no one has said so.

It is also not a savings account so I didn't know if it would help. We will see.

  12. Thanks everyone. I went to my bank today and they don't give letters with the deposits listed for the past year. They only provide the average balance. Do you think I need to press for a hand written letter if it is only for a checking account? I make more than the 125% of the poverty line for my fiance and myself.

I am getting what I need to show proof of income so do I need the bank info at all?

It seems like it will be harder to get.

  13. Hello,

I have searched for the answers to my questions, but have found different responses so I would appreciate if anyone who had their I-134 accepted at Kingston could respond to my questions.

    Tax transcripts

Are these ok to send instead of Tax returns and W2s? (I believe it is from what I read.) How many years do I need to provide for the fiance visa? I have read 1 on some forums, but some people say they sent the last 3 years. (I thought 3 years was only for the I-864 form.)

    Bank statements

I believe the I-134 form mentions including a letter from the bank that shows deposits for the past year, the date the account opened and the present balance. Is this a requirement?

Secondly,I will not be stating savings as an asset on the I-134 form so do I need to send bank statements or letters from my bank at all? Will I need to send it for my checking account if I don't send it for my savings so that they still receive some form of bank statement?

    Paystubs

I will be sending the letter from my employer that states my annual income. Will I need to send pay stubs to support this too? I have read some people only send about 3, but others send all from the past 6 months. Which is correct if I need to send any?

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but I want to get this right. I hope this topic will help to flesh out this topic's search.

    Thanks for your help!

So do you think it is an approval or could it go both ways?

    Thank you!

  15. Thanks for your quick reply. The body of the notice says:

    "Post Decision Activity

  16. What does Post Decision Activity mean? Could this be a denial and what is the likelihood that it is? Now I have to wait to get it in the mail, but I noticed that people post that they received their NOA2s on the current dates as they pass. Does this mean they receive the approval when they check the USCIS website or the same "Post Decision Activity" spiel that I got.

Sigh... the US government is confusing me
