  1. Dominic, This is you future step-mom-in-law!! I went into a mail/notary place yesterday and had mine done. Print out the card from the website and bring it with you. Request ink prints not digital. Most police depts. do digital. Google "ink fingerprinting" in your area. Then call and tell them what you're doing. Hope this helps!

  2. Hi Coconuts! I know we've asked this question before. Since the age of 16 my fiance has lived in 3 cities in Ontario. Does he need one police certificate from each of these 3 cities? Thank you so much!!

  3. For the visa interview in Montreal, under List of Documents sections it states "police certificates from all places lived since age 16." Our question is, are all of the police certificates required or is the one police certificate from where I live now sufficient? Thank you all very much!!

  4. I just wonder if we will ever get one.....It's so wrong on so many levels to have to sit there and "refresh" all day and then miss it after 20 seconds. It seems there has to be another way.

  5. Hello VJers~

Hypothetical question here: If one has an appointment in Montreal and has to cancel at the last minute, do they have to wait the same amount of time to reschedule? It is taking months just to get one as it is. Just curious.

  6. I wish for all that we could put an end to this....I thought waiting for the NOA2 was bad, but this is far worse. It's because we are so close to the end...Remember friends, strength in numbers. I hope we can have our appointments on the same day so we could meet in Montreal. That would be the best

  7. Dualhammers~~~~We live in what is purported to be the greatest democracy in the history of humankind. We are simply exercising our rights under the Constitution. A free and open society has it's basic tenet...the right to dissent. Those of us at VisaJourney are exercising that fundamental right. You are entitled to your opinion and we are entitled to disagree. Our goal is to be treated in a civil and respectful manner by the bureaucracy that we fund. Justice will prevail and this grassroots movement will be the watchdog.

  8. This is the response we received from our first email...we sent the same email to the address they suggested and received the second response. Our suggestion is to keep sending to both addresses. They are passing the buck!

1.Thank you for your message to the Immigrant Visa (IV) unit of the U.S. Consulate General in Montréal, Canada.

We review and reply as appropriate to all e-mails in order they are received.

DO NOT send inquires about the status of the case. All cases are handled and reviewed in turn.

Please note: IV Unit will NOT reply to inquiries about DHL courier services, scheduling / rescheduling an appointment, status of documents sent to/from the Consulate. These inquires should be addressed to CSC Visa Information Services <http://canada.usvisa-info.com/> using the contact details listed here http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=visa_generalinquiries.

2.This is an automatic response acknowledging receipt of your request. We will process your request within 3 business days.

If you have already sent information to us please DO NOT SUBMIT additional requests on the same matter. If necessary we will contact you to clarify any information needed. Sending multiple e-mails with the same request only slows response time.

Please note: The Contact Desk is for technical issues only such as applicant record issues, payment validation issues or correcting DHL routing issues.

Inquiries concerning visa questions or assistance in confirming, canceling, or rescheduling (aside from No Shows) your visa appointment will not be answered through this service.

We cannot provide you any status updates regarding your application (NIV or IV) as we are not consular officers

  9. !!!!!!!!!!NEW FLASH!!!!!!!!!

Gary and I will be sending our first email withing the next 5 minutes. We will continue to inundate the consulate with the same email on a daily basis until we get out appointment!! We encourage all of you to do the same...every time you refresh, send an email!! This is a grassroots movement against the bureaucracy and it is our RIGHT as citizens. See you in Montreal!!

  10. This is the email I will send....

    To whom it may concern:

On (day, date) We, as a couple, began the process of booking our interview appt. We have satisfied all of the visa application requirments. We have received packet 3 and 4 instructions and have satisfied all of these requirements. For the past( number of days) we have been diligently attempting to book an appt. as per the instructions in packet 4. We spend hours every single day in our attempt to book an online appt. Every attempt is met with the following response from the consulate..." There are no available appointments at this time."

We are a working couple. We also have many daily responsibilities. It is both frustrating and unacceptable to be spending our valuble time sitting in front of a computer and repeatedly clicking the "refresh" button.

The purpose of this email is to request a written explanation from the consulate, outlining the reasons why we are unable to book our appointment.

    Sincerely,

??? Does anyone know the email address to send this to?

  11. I say we FLOOD Montreal with calls daily until they release more appointments. Make them feel the pressure.. loL!

I think we should flood them with calls and emails!! Everyone needs to get on board with this!!! :help:
