A question for the tax-savvy:
For self-employed sponsors, how do you determine your annual income amount for question 7 on the I-134? Which line is this on your 1040 tax return?
An example:
Your 1040 Schedule C line 7 (Gross Income) is $67,000
Your 1040 line 12 (Business Income) is $27,000
Your 1040 line 22 (Total Income) is $19,000
Your 1040 line 37 (Adjusted Gross Income) is $11,000
Obviously these four numbers fall on both sides of the poverty threshold, so which do you choose to accurately answer I-134, Question 7: "I derive an annual income of:" ?
Thanks!

Follow the instructions given to you by people who have gone through your embassy. All embassies are a bit different. For example, I think in Canada, you call and book your appointment. In London, you wait for the embassy to issue you a date by letter. So, those who have gone through your embassy will know best. Also, each embassy has their own forum on here - it might be worth posting to that forum as well.
Good luck!
Thanks for the advice, cmoore25 - I'm not finding individual embassy forums on this site? Could you provide a link?

I just posted this in the US Embassy and Consulate Discussion forum, then realized it should probably be here instead:
Scheduling an interview at the US Embassy in Paris
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Hello - a little background on us...
Me: American living in the US
My Fiancée: Algerian national living in France
My I-129F petition was approved on Sept 30 (I received the notice in the mail.)
Where we are confused:
Our US immigration attorney has instructed us that the next step of action is for my fiancée to complete the online DS-160 (which she has) and contact the US Embassy in Paris to schedule an interview appointment either by phone or online as per the instructions here: http://france.usembassy.gov/visas/online-appointments.html
The problem is every time my fiancée calls the visa call center number in Paris (0810-26-46-26) to schedule an interview they tell her that she must wait to be contacted by the US Embassy for an interview. (The online interview scheduling website comes to a dead-end as well if you select K-1.) Needless to say, those 14 euro phone calls are starting to add up.
It appears that the visajourney.com K-1 Process Flowchart confirms what the visa call center in Paris is telling us - that we aren't supposed to initiate the interview scheduling; they contact us. However, that brings up the question: why does our American immigration attorney keep telling us that they're wrong?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks! I'm leaning towards K1.
As for DCF, according to my research you both have to be living in the country.

I'm an American living and working in the US. My fiancee is Algerian, living and working (legally) in France. Our end goal is to get married, live and work together in the US.
Should we A) Go the K1 / Fiancee Visa route and petition to get married in the US? or B) Go the K3 route, get married in France, then petition for her Visa to the US?
Initially we were thinking a French marriage would speed things along, but I'm not sure...
Any insight would be appreciated!
