  1. Hi all,

I have been using VJ for quiet a while now and I found it extremely helpful in ALL my immigration matters. Thank you for all your help!

Today me and my husband of 6 month had our AOS interview. We collected all our docs and went in together as requested( I found it helpful to follow the checklist on the appointment notice).

We got called at 2pm and met with a woman officer. She was very nice and friendly, but kept us there for 1 hour. She carefully went pretty much through all of our paperwork , taking her time.

She started from our basic info like passports, addresses, SSN's and parent's names. Other questions included detailed description of our first meeting ( we met at friend's wedding and told her all about it), she even asked if we could show her pictures from friend's wedding (which I thought was unnecessary). Further she browsed through ALL our pictures ( I brought 3 albums - wedding and courtship) and asked if I had more. I didn't have any but she said it was okay. Then she asked me some questions form I-485 application: espionage, drugs, gambling etc. Afterwords, she moved on to asking both of us about our occupations. The atmosphere was very relaxed, lady even showed us a picture of her cat (!), so you can imagine. We didn't feel pressured at all, fifty percent of our conversation was around topics not related to my application...

Finally, she asked us if we had a lease with our names on it - and we didn't bring it cause it only had my husband's name. However, we had all other supporting paperwork ( insurance, statements from family&friends, brochure about our engagement from my work, joint bank statement, tickets from trips etc.) At the end officer told us that she'd approve our application, but would put it in the system only on Friday (aug 12), and I can expect GC in 3 weeks from now...She also stressed out the importance of continuous residency and no trips of more than 6 months..

Overall, I found our interview very pleasant and relaxing. If you are mentally prepared and don't have anything to hide - you will be fine.:innocent:

Thank you VJ again for providing such invaluable source of information!
