  1. My fiancee got her packet with this form and I was wondering if that's a standard for K-1? I used it 10 years ago filing papers for my GC lottery. But when I received papers to get to the US I do not remember filing that. I mostly question this because of the following point on the form 26. How Long Do You Intend To Stay in The U.S.?

    Any thoughts?

  2. hey everyone

i was just wondering because im very confused, when exactly am i supposed to go and get my police certificate for my k-1 visa?

and ow long do they take to get?

we just filed for our k-1 visa and we just got our hard copy of our Noa1, when am i supposed to get my police certificate?

Every country has something like Criminal Record, if you don't know, call your local police dept. and ask where can you obtain one. Check with your visa papers that this is the right time to get one, don't get it too early, because it may become invalid after a period of time and you may need to pay twice. Also, check if you can deliver one to the embassy, or you may have to supply a stamped envelope so it will be sent directly to the embassy without your further involvement (I had to go that route).

  3. Peter,

Are you saying that I am asking these questions because I haven't read the form instructions? I have, many times. The only statement in the I129-f instructions that addresses my question says:

State that an item is not applicable with "N/A." If the answer is none, write "none."

This does not specifically answer my questions, it is just a generalization. I was simply asking for clarification on the subject.

Yes you're right, these instructions can be vague. I was confused many time myself, sorry.

As previously mentioned, leave NO blank spaces, so they know you did not skip anything. I think for mine A# I put N/A since it just doesn't apply. Even though we have it, we are also citizens and you fill in your Naturalization Cert number anyway.

  4. Unlikely. Something had to be wrong, not the date format.

Regarding the subject, I made a huge mistake and sent my package First Class mail. Three months later I found it in my mailbox destroyed, smelly, as it was soaked in water. The following I sent Express Mail which was delivered the next day.

    Learn on other's mistakes.

I read somewhere that someone got an RFE for a date mm-dd-yyyy format but on the example VisaJourney gives for letter of intent, that's the date format?

  5. I am the petitioner and the processing time for me was 7 months to the day. It is very frustrating and my fiance was going crazy, but that's wasn't my fault and once just has to hang in there, be 200% patient. When the relationship is genuine there's nothing to worry about.

BTW, she's got her package and we started gathering the paperwork. Hopefully the interview will happen for her by the end of June in Warsaw, Poland.

    Good luck people!

  6. That exactly was my impression when I read the subject. You may be in love, I don't know, you have to take a look at this issue as an immigration officer would.

One person filed for you, then it was cancelled and short after that a second person files the application. That just doesn't sound right.

Either way, let us know how you did.

I honestly don't know if you'll be okay. They could accuse you of attempting visa fraud with the first K1 and trying to get the visa even though the petition was cancelled... but they might also just ignore it but you won't know until the time comes.
