It seems as if they skipped over us entirely. Arrgh!

You'll have 87 days (USUALLY) to respond to an RFE. I would be more concerned about getting an interview letter while you are away.

Do interview letters occasionally come prior to RFEs? I've been following several of these threads and I haven't seen that before.

Can you get someone to check your mail for you while you are away?

It's hard to imagine asking someone to open every piece of mail received at our apartment for a month, just to see if we received an RFE!

I'm on the August, 2011 application list, but haven't yet received a response.

Judging by the associated thread, it should be happening any day.

I'll be leaving the country for a month in two days, and away for about a month.

Obviously, if I'm approved, everything is great. What would happen, though, if I instead got a Request for Evidence (RFE) in the mail while I was away?

I might not see it for a month after its arrival. How much time are you given to return it?

This is your educated guess, but don't forget VSC don't work in a logical order.

I am sure they are going to start August-filers in May, but the question is when they will start in May & Who is going to be the lucky one?

I respectfully disagree with your assertion that the VSC aren't looking at applications in a logical order -- especially since your next statement: "I am sure they are going to start August-filers in May" clearly indicates that you DO think they work in a logical order.

If 50% of September applications had already been approved, then you might have a point. As it stands, they seem to clear the majority of one month's applications before starting on the next month.

I'm guessing that the less-than-100% success rates you're seeing on this site for March, April, May, etc., stem from the fact that some proportion of posters neglect to update the site.

On the last day of March, 27% of July filers had already been approved. By mid-April, it was more than half.

On the last day of April, ZERO August filers have been approved. The first ones should be occurring any day.

It's been six weeks since our walk-in Bio appointment, and we haven't had any touches.

I've heard that the first touch for many people is approval.

Update on Biometrics walk in 09/30 . Do you get any touches after biometrics????

I mistakenly sent the application early without realizing that the check I enclosed was dated August 3rd.

They sent the whole thing back to me (rather than just waiting 3 days to cash it!)

Hi all,

My wife and I are just outside of the 90-day application window and are curious if it's possible to have an early Biometric appointment at the Philadelphia office.

The USCIS site indicates that this office is "only for people with scheduled appointments", but I clicked through the remainder of the sites in Pennsylvania and all sang the same refrain.

So, does anyone definitively know if it's possible to get an Early Bio in Philly?
