  1. Yung sa part 1, middle name should be yung family name mo nung dalaga ka pa, which is apelyido ng tatay mo (just to make it clear, nalilito rin ako) hahaha

Yung part 3A, yun talagang nakasulat sa I-94, wala rin akong nilagay dun na middle name so yung first name ko lang at apelyido ng tatay ko... :)

    Hope this helps... Goodluck!

hi harvey&theresa...ask ko lang kung nagamit nyo ba last name nyo nong single pa kayo as ur middle name now after marriage..kasi ung sa akin hindi ina allow ng social security dahil pag kukuha daw ako ng state id or driver's license sa DMV di daw pwd na ung gagamitin kong middle name ay ung last name ko before marriage. mayron knbang state ID or driver's license? Ano bang nakalagay na given name sa visa nyo? kasi ung sa akin given name ko ung first name at middle name ko as single ang nkalagay...so i ws thinking na baka un nag reason ng DMV at SSA na ang amitin ko na full name ngaun is my First name+ maiden middle name+ married last name..

  2. In the US you can make it anyway you want it when you get married. Did you adjust status yet? What does your green card say? My wife did it the filipino way like you explained. Of course we got married in the PI, but it doesn't matter. It all depends on how you fill out the paperwork here.

I have not file for AOS yet..I'm planning to have it next month...maybe you have not encounter this kind of issue because you were already married when your wife arrive here in the US..so she was carrying your last name...I still plan to file all my docs in the future with my married name ...my only concern this time is my middle name...How come they did not allow me to have my last name as my middle name..(like the filipno way)I just don't understand..thanks anyway..

  3. Ok, I am confused...

I just got married after spending 2 weeks in the US with my LOVE (L) (see timeline  ) and today I went to the Social Security Administration Office to apply for my SSN  .

I brought my passport with the I-94 inside and a copy of our Marriage Certificate.. After filling in the form, the lady told me that she is going to put my maiden name on my SSN instead of my "new" last name, the name of my husband. I asked her why, since I showed her my marriage certificate and she then told me she can't change my name since my passport says "B*****" AND I need approval from HOMELAND SECURITY to change my last name on my SSCard which I am expecting to receive within 2 weeks. :bonk: W to tha TF?! :hehe:

Does anybody know what she is talking about? And I thought my marriage certificate is proof to have my new name on my SSCard. :help:

I got my first SSN with my maiden name on it and now with my married name..by just showing them my marriage cert and passport. The only prob I encountered was the middle name that they let me carry with my married name. Instead of the usual that a married woman can use her maiden last name as her middle name...mine was different..they have my maiden middle name printed on it with my married last name..So confusing..i don't know how to change it now..

  4. The only name that changes is the last name when married. If you want the rest changed it has to go to court. Or wait until you file citizenship and change it there.

thnx for the reply guys..but how about in your case? what do you guys have in your SS card? did you carry the maiden last name in your married name now? How did you do that? because however explanation i had to SSA and DMV they still didn't allow me..

  5. hi everyone, i need a piece of advice. I just got my SSN name changed recently and they let me use my maiden middle name as my middle name now after marriage. i am so confused. In the Phil. we always carry our maiden last name as our middle name after marriage, right? Example: Jessa Uy Lim marries Juan Delacruz so after marriage Jessa wanted to change her name into Jessa Lim Delacruz...Is this possible here in the US? Because in my case, the SSA did not allow me to carry my last name as my middle name after marriage. Instead they have me this ex: Jessa Uy Delacruz. Do you guys experienced the same issue as mine? Pls help..i need to settle everything before filing my AOS. I am not comfortable using my maiden middle name as my married middle name because I'm afraid when I sign papers/documents in the future esp in the Phil..I will become inconsistent with my records. I wanted to have Jessa Lim Delacruz as my married name..but how can I change this when my SS card now has Jessa Uy Delacruz printed on it. Where should I go? whom should I talk to? I called DMV and SSA to let me have the nae I want but they didn't allow me. Thank you guys

Hi tina, I am so happy to see your success. I am glad to meet a wonderful and nice person as you are. You are truly of great help here in VJ. Indeed, God showers his blessing to those with a good heart. Salamat sa mga suggestions at tulong mo thru answering my queries. Good luck sayo sis. Napakabait mong tao.

  9. I called their call center about it and they said that they only need copies of it. Just make several copies though.. You're interview date is a day after mine, which s July 11th.. LOL good luck to us!

Hi Len ben...I am scheduled for July 11 too..Can we meet on the day of the interview? Are you already prepared with your documents? Hope to see how you complied everything..

  10. hi everyone i can relate to your concerns guys... We got our NVC letter last May 23 telling us about the details of our status. They said our case was forwarded to USEM last May 20 and we are still waiting for the packet until this time. I have paid my interview fee last June 1, 2011 and called the embassy this morning, unfortunately, they have a technical problem in their system so they can't trace my case if it's already in their system. To jewchee, can I ask if you have your medical exam already? You said the embassy emailed you after 18 days of waiting to finally sched an appointment for interview. Does that include non working days? And are there still slots for interview for the month of June? Thank you so much and good luck to all of us guys!

  11. hi mga sis, we both have the same prob...ano bang nangyari sa DS156 ngaun? yan na lang din kulang ko..nakuha mo na ba confirmation sa NVC sis? kelan ka na approved? ours was approved last May 12, 2011 (NOA2)..nagpa appointment kana sa USEM.
