  1. I'm with Belinda on this one. I don't think DNA will work in this case too. And I don't think you can have tests done unless recommended by USCIS or US Embassy. You just can't go at St. Luke's or any lab here because it was not requested by USCIS. Other than the court documents and annotated BC don't you have other proof? Say like pre- natal check up/ records from your OB- GYN. Goodluck!

  2. Your fiancé has to file a supplemental report. The supplemental report is applicable for those who don't have first name entries, no gender etc ....

    Requirements:

Also check our fellow member's experience. She was able to fix her problem in 3weeks. It was her middle name that was missing but your fiancé has to undergo the same process.

  3. I very much doubt that you will get a refund. You just did not submit the wrong form but you were applying for a different benefit/apllication.

The applicant will not be entitled to a refund. When an applicant or petitioner pays a filing fee on an application, he or she is seeking a decision from USCIS regarding the applicant or beneficiary's eligibility for the benefit(s) being sought. In general, USCIS does not refund a fee or application regardless of the decision on the application.

  4. Hello--

The "rules" about not refunding money are about the only thing that has been clear in this entire 47-step process that seems to be as confusing, tedious, and ambivalent as possible by design. I'm not a conspiracy theory person or an anti-powers-that-be person, but I'm not sure how comfortable I feel with the government saying, "you screwed up and we know you screwed up by submitting the wrong form at first, but we are keeping your free money anyway."

  5. Yup waived as in they told me that I don't have to do it anymore :) My citizenship was fast I filed January 2012 and took my oath just after 3 months - April 2012. If they reply to you and tells you that you don't need to have your FP taken then don't worry about it. It means your prints are still valid .

  6. While my wife's 2 year and 10 year cards arrived they both had her sex as m instead of f. I feel your pain! Not only did we have to fill out the I-90 twice and wait for a replacement but I had to deal with selective service. Gl2u.

    LS

How long did you wait for the replacement card? They told me to wait 6more months thats why I did not file and of course that i have to pay for it...One kind USPS employee told me that filing a case/complaint against them is just useless.Their 1-800 number assigns a case number and instead of them doing a follow up they just email the concerned local post office. They told me to call them after 2 days because they will do their investigation but it was just a waste of my time. There was nothing new that they can tell me except wait for the card..Useless morons!!

  7. HA!...I didn't receive my iphone 4G in the mail thanks to USPS, its been over a month. So don't worry,...your not the first, won't be the last.

And likewise in the same situation, USPS did not want to accept responsibility either, they kept shifting the blame and running me in circles like they did to you

I filed a lot of complaints and still nothing happened. Its as if its my fault that they lost my GC.

  8. I got my 10yr GC this month. It is nothing close to junk. It stood out of my mail. It is a white USPS bigger than a regular envelop. The ones you get at USPS when you want to send something in a non-regular manner, now sure they are called "first class". They are usually white with USPS written on it in blue with some red. The sender can tag tracking on it, in this case USCIS. Thus if you call them they can give you a tracking no. Times have changed!

Congrats on your GC. Yes times have changed. I never had a problem with my visa journey I can't believe I became a victim of the USPS...

  9. Was happy to see my stepdaughters' US certificate in the mail a couple of days ago in a brown envelop with an 88 cent stamp on it. How would one track that? With both conditional and ten year cards, still have the envelops, that also came in first class mail. Everything we got from the USCIS came in first class mail. No such thing that I am aware of where we could send in a couple of extra bucks and have it sent overnight with tracking.

I have to be careful, within a week, can fill up a large shopping bag with junk mail. Practically all the junk mail I receive looks far more official than anything from the DOS or the USCIS. So you got me wondering how you got tracking information on your ten year card. Nothing we ever received or about to receive from the USCIS had any form of tracking information.

When our ten year cards never came in, called my senators office, apparently folks at the USCIS will lie to me, but not to my senator. I suggest you do the same.

Would delight me to deport the entire USCIS for fraud rather than the other way around.

NickD yes there is a tracking # for all the GCs that are sent by the USCIS. The first time I called them I asked to be transferred to a level 2 agent right away.Told them that we were planing to move,we were not I just wanted to get an info. I told the very nice lady she was really nice to me that I wanted to know if it's been sent already because we're moving and I don't want it to fall in the wrong hands. She then gave me a tracking number so I can track it myself. She said they decided to put tracking numbers on the GCs so they can track it too and for proof that it has been delivered. It even has a delivery confirmation so I guess they're covering their bases too.

About 3days of tracking it the status was not changing and I still don't have the GC I decided to call the post office where the GC was mailed. It was mailed from Corbin Kentucky. The moment I gave the tracking number to the post office employee she said "ah this is an immigration card they mail it here in bulks and we get thousands of them everyday"....Apparently all the GCs are coming from kentucky. She told me that they shipped it the same day they received it.I got the USPS consumer affairs in California involved and though she was nice it was all in vain they can't find it even the postmaster general in Kentucky has no idea where it went.I reported it to USCIS and the agent told me that he documented all my concerns and my calls I was told to wait 30 days grrrrrrrrr.....I filed 2 more cases with USPS and nothing happened the idiots there that they were not responsible. It's like communism I said I'm pissed at them but I have no choice but buy their stamps still.....my husband decided that were not gonna pay again so I just got a stamp on my passport...

  10. Interesting scenario - it sounds like you have everything well documented. It will be good to hear from you how this all pans out. It's not as if YOU were careless, kudos to you for taking on USCIS and getting them to investigate.

Oh believe me this is so stressful me and the hubby were on the phone constantly bugging all those involved.I was so pissed at USPS that I told them that they are rude and seemed to be mad that I was complaining. They say priority mails are being flown in so I told them it made me wonder all the more if it even made the truck route.Told the rude lady at that time that it would've been here by now unless theyre driving in freaking reverse. Thanks!

  11. if your applying for your citizenship n-400 in two weeks, then HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN,you should have gotten your pernanent resident card a year ago, why did you wait so long to say it never arrived.now the uscis won't belive you, if you have a copy of your green card front and back send a copy with your file, but when your go for your test and oath they ask for your permanent resident card.if you want a new card form 1-90 350.00 dollars, good luck

I did not wait too long to report it. Two weeks after my approval I called USCIS and asked them what was wrong and how come I haven't received the card yet. They gave me a USPS tracking # so I can check the status online. It never came and I still have the screenshot of the tracking page saying that it was never delivered.USCIS then told me that if I file for a replacement they will not waiver the fee because USPS won't admit that it was their mistake.I then went for an info pass to have my passport stamped.I won't pay $300 plus for a replacement because it was not my fault. The consumer affairs department from USPS here in California and Kentucky even got involved in my case.3 investigations later they still didn't know where it went so don't assume that I did not do anything. IMO USCIS should've went after USPS because they were the sender.

Please know the situation first .I was talking about a situation that occurred a year ago and not just recently.

  12. Yes, send the I-551 stamp copy - that is proof of your PR status. The physical green card is actually an I-551 card. Write an explanation in your cover letter and include the documentation you have to support your position that it was never received. Having the passport stamp certainly lends a good deal of credibility to your circumstances. You will need to bring your passport to the interview as well.

Thanks a lot Kathryn I will definitely do that.

  13. Thanks aleful and milimelo for the fast replies. Yes I do have an approval letter and screenshot copy of the USPS tracking page that my GC was never delivered.I tried to search for similar cases on the forums but cant seem to find one.I think I need to look more.Is it okay to send a copy of the I-551 stamp on my passport will that do?Sorry I forgot to mention that I went for an infopass and have a stamp...

  14. Hello everybody!I will be applying for my citizenship in a few weeks but the problem is I dont have a copy of my 10yr GC.I never received my card. USCIS said they sent it but I never got a hold of it.USPS wont admit that they lost it and was not able to trace where it went even with a tracking number provided by USCIS. After talking to USCIS I was told that I need to pay $300+ for a replacement. They will not waive the fee so I decided not to get one since its so expensive and it was not my fault that it was not delivered.I know that its useless arguing with those a**holes....

Now my question is it compulsory to send a copy of the GC with my packet? What do I need to do since what I have right now is only the extension letter? Do I need to file for I-90 just to show a receipt.

Help will be very much appreciated....
