I have seen many ppl talk about being able to track their passport and visa status can anyone tell me how you can get an update on your case or track your passport or visa? All I know to do is call the DOS or the embassy.
-
You are not alone the exact same thing happend to my husband they told him to come back in 2 day's to get his visa when he went back they said we will contact you by email. I called the DOS to get an update and they told me my husband's case is in review. His interview was Oct. 31 2011 has been in review for 3 month's I pray we will hear something soon. I feel your pain!
I keep telling myself everything happend's for a reason and God know's what is best. It is hard to be patient but in the end I know I will have my husband here with me and all this will be just a memory. Looking for that day I pray it comes fast!!

My husbands visa was approved December 1st... we are still waiting for his visa
I have called NCSIS, the NVC.... he has called the Embassy...I have written the Embassy... in which we were both told... everything is ok... don't worry... his case is being reviewed.
Now how
does a APPROVED visa get reviewed?????
I finally called the DOS yesterday, and she said, I don't know what THEY (Embassy in Amman) told you... or the paper they gave you... but what
I see here is that his case is in review and pending. I said, I filed the I-130 because all your sites say that this is what is the shortest route in
separation times between spouses... it also says that an AP case can be 1-4 months or years... this is not right!!!
She said, I can tell you this... you will NOT be waiting years... you have a VERY good case...everyone goes through this... you just need to be
patient and wait! I also got
a mail from the Amman Embassy visa unit and he said, " Unfortunately this case is still in review and took longer than we anticipated. As soon
as the review is done we will notify you immediately. " And my poor husband...he was so excited... he did everything right... it breaks my heart
because we were both so ready and excited about starting a new life together...
THEY TOLD US WE COULD... then took it from us.
So I will move into our new apartment alone.... and go on with life the best I can... God willing... He will take control and bring us together soon.
And the thing that angers me about all this... the AP site doesn't allow me to check his status... it just sends me back to the Amman email!!
Thank you for listening............. :cry:this is really depressing me.
Thank you Reina...
I will do my best to stay up..... and good good luck to you and your love on your journey together!

My husband's case has been in AP for 3 month's now.. how do I contact the senator of Iowa? I searched for information but am confused on who I need to contact. Iowa is not a popular state for immigration cases and I couldn't find much information on who I can contact or if they can even help us. Does anyone have any advice on this situation? Is it too early to try to get the state rep's involved in my case? I don't want to push to hard I have already sent many emails and phone call's to the embassy in Tunisia. I also call once a week to get my update from the DOS. I am afraid maybe I delayed the case by the email's and phone call's.

Hi .. My grandmother had the same issue. My mother and grandmother a USC did a DNA test approved by USCIS showing 99.999999999 chance of them being mother-daughter. My grandmothers interview went well too but she was put on Admin review just like your husband. It's been over 6 weeks and the embassy gives us my answers on when to expect what.
How do you cal the DOS?
Thank you and good luck to you.
Thank you for your reply! The Department of State number is 12026631225.. they will ask your case number and your name and husband's name. It is only a calling center for the DOS so unless you get a good rep. they will not tell you anything but the status of the case. Good luck to your family too. My prayer's are with you!

Here is a link that tells you what may be going on with this. Some countries, which have a reputation for high fraud, are subject to AR or AP. Sometimes countries that are not get the same extra scrutiny. All you can really do is wait it out.
http://www.usaimmigr...tiveReview.html
Thank you so much for this link!! the only thing is the embassy and the DOS both said there are no red flag's and see nothing wrong with the case so I don't understand why we are in administrative review.. but I will use this link to hopefully get some answer's.. thank's again

It's a catch-all term. For a male coming from that region of the world, you can conclude that they are doing the additional extensive security checks that are expensive and time consuming. They don't do them unless they are otherwise ready to issue the visa. If you were told there were no problems, that's the answer.
Aside, the OP's timeline indicates only an I-130 was filed, (No I-129F for spouse filed) so this would be a CR1 or IR1 visa, not K3.
Thank you! I thought we applied for a k3 my husband said no a CR1 I was confused..
-
Did you read the OP carefully? He says he was told they have everything.
Plz someone explain I am so confused the embassy told my husband at the interview they have everything and there is no red flag's everything is good.
what is an OP? we didn't get anything.. I called the DOS because the emabassy said they would contact my husband by email and he got nothing.. I wanted to know what was going on and called DOS they told me my husband is in administrative review... I called the embassy they told me the same thing and also said we have everything we need everything look's good no red flag's just give us time to decide on the case.
-
yes they wanted our marriage paper from his township.. which he got and brought back the same day.. within 2hr's of them asking for it.. they gave him a ticket and told him to come back on that Thursday, when he did they didn't know why he was there and told him they would contact him by email. I called the DOS and they told me our case was in administrative review.
Did they ask for further documents?

thats what ive been wondering too. i am the intending immigrant but Jenni has 2 young children (4&6) and there is no way that their father would allow them to leave the US, so for me... the only option is to hope and pray that my visa is approved... otherwise it is game over.
it seem's no one is really answering our question.. any way my husband and I love each other no matter what.. a visa is not going to change that.. we knew the consequences before we even got married and promised each other we would be together through good and bad times.. we have lived over a yr in a internet relationship and made it work like we are near each other so why not another yr or how ever long it takes for us to have a "normal" married life.. leaving my husband is not an option he is my soul my everything and no other man can take his place
-
What do yo do if you don't have the option to move? I have four children joint custody with their dad so it would not be an option for me to take my children with me.

Can anyone tell me what exactly is administrative review?
Our case is in administrative review and I can't find anywhere or get any real answer's on what this mean's exactly.. Plz someone explain I am so confused the embassy told my husband at the interview they have everything and there is no red flag's everything is good.. so why administrative review?
-
They will want all the document's that you sent to the nvc . Nvc should have sent all this with your packet but my husband took everything just in case.. (well we thought he had everything) they also wanted our marriage paper translated in english from my husband's township.
He also took our conversation's from facebook, and msn, I didn't know how to do skype log's and thought the pages and pages of other converstation's would be enough I even included our conversation's of when we was in argument's thinking that would show this is a real relationship cuz every couple has time's of disagreement.
I made a scrapbook of my trip's to Tunisia and my husband shared that with them. My children and family all sent card's with letter's written to Atef to show that the family is involved it's not just my husband and I in this relationship. My children had also sent my husband lot's of drawing's.
Our case was put in administrative review even we had lot's of evidence showing our relationship, so I can't say enough take more than you think is enough.. take everything you have even if it mean's bringing a suitcase with you to the interview. This is your time to prove your relationship so make sure to take more than enough proof!! May God be with you! I wish the best for you and your family!

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone is willing to share there process through administrative review? I am heartbroken and very worried about our case and it help's me calm down if I read what is happening with other's in this same process.
My husband had his interview Oct. 31 2011 at the us embassy in Tunisia. The interview went fine was asked a few question's
1. Where did you meet your wife
2. When was the last time you talked to your wife
3. How long have you known your wife
4. How many dependent's are on the aos
(The interviewer was concerned that there was 8 including my husband, but no worries we are well over the income guidelines)
Our file was missing our original marriage paper, so he was told to get this paper and bring it back, the interviewer kept my husband's passport
My husband ran and got the marriage paper and returned it to the embassy within 2 hrs, he was then told to come back that Thursday, and he was congratulated.
He returned that Thursday and everyone was confused why my husband was there. They came with some paper's and asked my husband you are applying for a visiting visa? He said no immigration I am married. They was thumbing through paper's and looked confused, in the end they told him he would be contacted by email. He waited for an email and nothing, So he emailed them, the reply was there was no record of his passport and application. I called the embassy and questioned this email. I was told no we have everything and his case is on the consular's desk waiting for a decision. Your husband is in administrative review and we will contact him by email when the consular make's his decision. This made me very worried and I started crying I said what do you mean the consular has not made a decision is there anything else he need's he said no there is nothing else everything is ok you just have to give the consular time.
I call the DOS at least once a week only to be told your husband is in administrative review. There has only been two rep's that have talked nicely to me and took there time with me. One lady told me don't worry there are no red flag's on the case everything is fine there is nothing wrong with the case. She said I know this seem's like it is taking forever but really it has been a short time. Rest your mind your husband is approved. Another man told me thing's similar except did not say my husband is approved would only tell me everything looked good no red flag's nothing and was not sure why they would put my husband in review. My dad called the embassy in Tunisia and the man talked to my dad about the weather and other thing's was very nice to him. The man told my dad they have been urgently waiting to hear from him. (my dad is the co-sponser) He told my dad don't worry we are putting his case on the top of the list and your son in law will hear from us in a few day's. This was Dec. 7th 2011 and we still have not heard anything. I call the DOS at least once a week and email the consular for updates of course all they will usually tell me is that he is in administrative review and have not been updated on the case yet you are free to call back next week.
This is very frustrating and heartbreaking... Don't know what to do next.. any advice??

My husband was given a 221-g but he gave it back to them after he got the required document's. He said he didn't read it, he was in so much stress and trying to hurry to get back to the embassy before they close to return the paper's they needed that he didn't realize what he had done until he got home, he thought it was just telling him of the missing document. So what is a 221g? He was told to come back that thursday after his interview he came back and they told him they will contact him by email. I called the DOS ant they told me he is in administrative review. I was very upset and the lady told me calm down don't worry everything is ok they need nothing more and there is no red flag's. I said is he approved
for his visa I don't understand what is going on. She told me your husband is approved it's just a matter of time. My husband's interview was oct. 31 2011 and they are still telling us he is in review. So reading this post's I am wondering if the 221g told him something important maybe it explain's why he is in review. I will call the DOS tomorrow and see if they can tell me anything about the 221g.
Manila is usually fairly fast with this.......best wishes and congrats!!

not really...he was asked like normal questions...things like..what am i studying here...how many siblings do i have....my home address and stuff like that
he said the interview went pretty smooth...but thats what i don't understand...if everything went well then why 3 months...i guess i am not the only one..
You are not alone! My husband and I are going through the same thing. My husband is from Tunisia. His interview went well and they told him to come back on the following Thursday to get his visa. His interview was Oct. 31 2011. He returned that Thursday and they acted like they didn't know why he was there and in the end told him he would be contacted by email. We called and they said he is in administrative review. We keep calling to find out the update, still in review. They said this could last 4 week's up to a yr. there is really no time to go by. Try calling the dos to get an update on friday's and you may want to get your local senator involved. We are thinking of taking this step. The consulate and the dos will not give any reason's of why they put him in review. It is very frustrating and heart breaking to go through this but know you are not alone and in the end you will alway's have your husband no matter what. You have to be patient and stay strong! I will keep your family in my prayer's, I wish you a fast process and that you will be reunited with your husband soon!

Just take a day at a time... call once a week on Fridays to DOS and get an update.. if you frequently call or email the embassy they may stop replying to you. We are almost 6 months of ap and in November I got my congressman involved. They too asked for another document.. it took about 5 weeks to put that document after the interview with the case and review it and we received teh news at that time they are moving our case forward and into name checks. That's where we have been since. I wish they could have simply run our name check gotten it back and worked up our case right then but unfortunatley it doesnt happen that way.
He gets in que for name checks then they run them once they are satisfied they put it back with the case and the co reviews it. All that takes time as there are literally thousands in the same process so while its frustrating waiting just know your case really truly isn't sitting and having nothing looked at. They are working behind the scenes and doing whatever they can to make sure he is eligible for the visa. Once everything is satisfied they can then issue the visa.
I know easier said than done but patience is truly needed and welcome during the ap time you have to endure.
Wishing you a speedy ap....
And do remb when you call DOS make a log of each persons name you speak with and exactly what they say. Sometimes if your lucky a pattern emerges.
Thank you for your advice and sharing your experience with me! Talking to everyone has really helped me calm down and I am ready to be patient and deal with everything as it come's this just came as a big shock.. I heard so many good experiences with the Tunisia consulate I didn't expect this to happen.. I still don't understand it but I have given this to God and will accept what he bring's, in the end my family will alway's be together no matter what, we love each other and they can't take that away.. We have worked hard to show everyone we love each other.. having to prove to family, friends, co-worker's and the government our love.. and our love will conquer all
I will take your advice and call on friday's and contact the local senate for help..
-
Wow, I don't know what has been going on at the Embassy in Tunisia lately. I think there is another couple who interviewed in November going through a similar problem. I am so sorry that you have to go through this. Please know that my husband and I are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Hoping to hear good news from you soon.
Thank you so much your reply mean's so much to me we need all the prayer's with God all thing's are possible!

Calm down and stop calling so much.Your getting the same answer over and over again. And making yourself crazy when you have little control. Consulates can be a bit pricky at times. Most people in AP can wait a few weeks or a few months, but rarely longer. I would wait another week or so and then call and if the answer is the same, contact your local congressman to assist you. Just document everything, politely, in a letter and then try to visit in person. They all have offices that deal with immigration issues. Sometimes one letter from them ( and I went though this personally) is usually sufficient to cure the problem.
Thank you for your response... as everyone here know's immigration is a very scary process to endure.. I didn't see this coming at all thought for sure my husband would be approved and here by the holiday's.. Thank's Giving has passed and now we are coming to Christmas.. our one year anniversary is in Jan. and we really want to spend it together without a pc screen between us.. I keep praying soon we will get an answer
and your right I was making myself crazy.. feeling a lot better today after a good day with my husband and reassurance from my vj friends thank's everyone

Hi! I know that this is frustrating but I can't emphasize ENOUGH not to lose your temper or continously bother them. Give it a little time. AP takes a little bit. Try to stay calm (I know it is hard) but, I fear you are going to keep pushing and cause them to "hold" up the case. They have done such things before so try to relax. It will happen. They have his passport? Then he's got it.
[/qu
yes they kept his passport.. gave him a ticket and told him to come back on that Thursday, when they then told him we will contact you by email.. I am really scared and didn't know what to do.. I will give it some time and keep everyone posted thank you
passport returned after second interview
in K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures

Is it normal to get your passport back after your second interview? Does it mean the visa is rejected?
