  1. Kinnari was in and out in less than 1 hour and 10 minutes with an APPROVAL!

Did not get the full details of the interview but I will get them in the next couple days once my wife gets back to our hometown.

Such a sigh of relief...thanks to everyone that has helped us throughout this journey. I could not have done it without you guys!

We wish everyone all the best...

    Dave and Kinnari

Congratulations Dave and Kinnari!!!! I'm so sorry I'm late replying. I'm so happy for you! Are you together yet? Prem and I are having such a great time together with our little boy.

  2. Whooo Hooo! So happy for you both!

Thanks for letting me know about the crowded embassy. I hear that place is old as dirt and now the new consulate is being opened the 21st of this month.

Thanks for your help Shanna and I'm glad that the 3 of you will be reunited soon!

I'm also happy to hear they were able to give him his visa the same day.

I'll be on here live waiting for the news from Kinnari for the interview results... Check back in next week. :)

Thank you so much, Dave!! What a relief! Thank you also for all of your support and advice throughout the process. We got his ticket and he's coming in on Tuesday, Nov. 8th. I can't believe it's really happening! :) Can't wait to hear your good news next week.

  3. Come on Shanna! Post the good news already... :D

Sorry I'm late!! Of course, WE ARE APPROVED!!!!!! good.gif

The interview was easy as pie and he was only at the consulate for 2 hours total. He paid extra at VFS to be bussed to the interview and was VERY glad that he did. I am going to write my review right now from what he told me, but wanted to let you know for Kinnari that the consulate is SUPER crowded even for typical India so be prepared. Prem said that he got a seat, but that someone was always standing right in his face because there were so many people in there. Overall, the process was very straightforward and easy. He was also able to pick up his passport and visa that evening at 5:30 PM. We are going to buy his ticket tonight so I get to see my baby in 4-5 days!!! :)

Only one more week to go for you guys. I can't wait for you to be done as well. Good luck and keep us posted.

  4. Well,, They still needed a document from me. Copy of proof of citizenship from the JointSponsor (they should of caught that in NVC but didnt) Anyway, I have a 'comeback' tomorrow, and cosponsor send me the original through UPS. If it doesnt get to me before noon, I dont have time to go to the embassy anymore and will have to wait another week... They said they needed a certified copy (when I called embassy) but on the instructions it states : **If you are a joint sponsor, substitute sponsor, or the relative of an employment-based immigrant requiring an affidavit of support, proof of your citizenship status, U.S. national status or lawful permanent resident status.

For U.S. citizens or nationals, a copy of your birth certificate, passport, or certificate of naturalization or citizenship.**

Now Idk what to do tomorrow.. The instructions here of the I864 state 'a copy' - no specifications. I have a regular copy in hands. Should I go up to the embassy anyways and see what happens?

    ANY ADVICE PLS?

I just sent in a regular copy of my and my co-sponsor's birth certificate. I don't think it has to be a certified copy for NVC, but since the embassy told you they need it to be certified then you should probably do so.

  5. VFS is done! My wife called me around 5 AM my time and she told me some things but I was too tired from studying the previous night before that I can not recall the details right now. I do know she is done with VFS though.

I'll try to get the details from her here soon.

Now the only thing left is the interview!

Congrats Dave! My husband's going to VFS on Monday so we'll be done with that soon! Did you know that the medical report is sealed and not supposed to be opened until the interview? I never read that, but Prem just finished his medical and they gave him the report and said not to open it. Weird. I think we should be able to know if there is a problem with his health before we go through the interview!

Let me know the details of VFS when you talk to Kinnari again. It would be good to have some insight about what to expect.

Thanks and hope the last few weeks go well for you guys.

Hang in there guys! You'll get your interview dates soon! good.gif

  6. hi you gat emaill for interview date from nvc

Hey, I didn't get an email from NVC because I was granted an expedite from the Mumbai consulate and my case was forwarded to them. The consulate then sent me an email and scheduled the interview date. You should probably get your email from NVC this month or at the very latest, the second week of November. I think they will put up the December schedule early, though, like they did with October and November. I feel for you because my case closed only a day before yours and ours was going to be in December as well. Good luck! I am hoping you get yours soon.

  7. My wife is planning on going to VFS Ahmadabad late next week before Diwali to turn in her Passport Clearance Certificate and pay the VFS fees.

This is the last step before the interview!

Oh good! I have a question about that. They sent a packet out saying that they want all of the documents submitted to the VFS office, but we've already submitted them to NVC, so do they need new copies of everything? I don't get it. I think all we need to turn in is the medical report and pay the fee of Rs. 387, but now I'm confused. Didn't your wife already turn in the passport clearance certificate to NVC? We already turned that in back in August. Anyway, let me know if you have some insight.

  9. Hi there all of you!

So, interviewdate is scheduled November 8th. I called the USEmbassy in Brussels today, after I have emailed them earlier this week leaving me with no response.

Now hear this. They had read the email, and went ahead and scheduled me for OCTOBER 18TH !!! So, happy me offcourse!

    But here's the problem...

They Embassy in Brussels hasnt received my 'paper file' yet ... They said it could be on its way, and to call back October 14th.

Called NVC, they said it had left yesterday through DHL. Now, lookin into the trackersystem of DHL I dont see a package left on any days of this week for Brussels, BE. And offcourse, Embassy told me they hadnt got it...

Soo,, if NVC says "yesterday it has left": Is it true though?

The trackersystem through DHL, the little trick we do... Accurate?

And what are the odds I will be able to make it to that interview October 18th?

Anybody a word of advice? :)

    Thanks in advance!

    Blessings to all! :)

Congrats on the earlier interview date!!!

Yes, the DHL tracking system is very accurate. I was just approved for an expedite at the Mumbai embassy and tracked mine the whole way. I called to see if they received my file and they said that they had on the same day that DHL listed on their website. I would call the embassy again next week and ask them if the process is different when there is less time before your interview. I think you usually have to have the appointment letter to get the medical exam. I am a little bit worried about our medical because it can take up to a week and the embassy hasn't even given us our interview date yet. I have done a little research, though, and it looks like people who have been approved for last minute interview dates have had the medical waived so that they can attend the interview and then afterwards they submit the medical report and receive the visa. It's so different for each embassy, though, so just call them and ask about it.

  10. I finished exactly one week before you and I have an Nov. 10th date. It is amazing that you are not in the Nov. list of appointments that is listed on the Mumbai Consulate webpage. I really hope you can get into an early December slot Shanna.

    Hang in there...

It's been 195 days since I have last layed eyes and touched my beautiful Kinnari and each day has been a battle that I want no one else to ever have to go through... I feel your pain. I really do...

    39 days until interview...

Thanks Dave. I can't believe we're not on the Nov. list either and think it's criminal that we're not because I don't understand what gave your visa a month's priority over ours when we're only one week apart. I actually think they made a mistake because I'm seeing numbers on the interview list for CR1's that are WAY higher than ours and that doesn't seem right. I'm still hoping for our expedite to be approved so that we can be in Oct. or Nov. It is still pending. December is just too late and I will raise a HUGE stink if they do that to me.

  11. fully agree. I hope you get your date soon! They seem to open up dates on the second Monday of the month.

Our latest insult: embassy sent a leter to my husband telling him to bring certified copy of MY previous husband's death certificate because they "only have a regular copy". And they refer to him as my "ex-husband!" Widowed people do NOT call their deceased spouses "ex". So wrong.

They never asked for deceased husband's "original" birth cert or marriage license. They have my tax transcripts and the 5 kids' social security survivor benefit statements! What?!! They don't believe in the integrity of the IRS and SSA??? Or th eUK Registrar?

They wouldn't even know he existed if I hadn't put him on the forms!!! And now new husband has to bring death cert to the embassy interview? They should have asked ME to send it straight to the embassy. SO INSENSITIVE.

Yes, we ARE grateful to have the interview date set. exceedingly grateful, even if *I* am fuming about the latest pseudo-RFE.

I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am that they are giving you guys such a hard time. That is SO insulting, I agree. And you can fume away all you want with me because I pretty much hate their guts, too. I pray they don't give you any more trouble because I think you've had quite enough. Hang in there!

November 3- is my interview, Thank God, so happy!!!

    Congratulations! It's coming soon! biggrin.gif
