  1. Hello everyone,

I am a green card holder and sponsoring my child who is under 21 years old now. I did all the paperwork and right now my son is waiting for an interview in Vietnam. I call NVC yesterday and was told that I have to wait (who knows how long) since his case is in category of F2A and currently they are working on up to the cases of 22 Feb 2015. His priority date is 7/2/15 and his DOB is 7/28/1996 meaning if he does not get an interview sooner than his birthday he may have to wait 5 more years (category F2B - 8 May 2010 as of Visa bulletin for Dec 2016) instead of 5 months in order to come to the U.S. with me. The question is if he does not get an interview before his birthday what is his chance of coming to America in 2017? Does any one know how fast/slow the wait for the interview is? Thank you for reading and answering my post.

  2. I am sponsoring my father to come to the U.S. and he is coiming to San Francisco at the end of May; however, I can't company him here due to work. Instead, one of my friends with company him from Vietnam to San Diego (Port of entry). Does this creat a problem such as delay getting his Green card? I meant can he enter through San Diego instead of San Francisco or any port of entry in the U.S. from Vietnam? Thank you for your input.

  3. Hi visa journey fans:

I am a U.S. citizen and I have petitioned my father to immigrate to the U.S. since 9/2012, by September this year I am expecting him to have an interview in Vietnam. My question is my father has a son whom is my blood brother under 18 years old can he come to the U.S. with him at the same time? I have not done any paper work for my brother, should I file now or wait until my father comes and sponsors him later? I do not want to leave him alone by himself in Vietnam. Do I have to file the paper work separately or can my father just bring my brother to the interview with him? Thank you for reading this and I am looking forward for any advices. Thank again.

  4. Hi everyone @ Visa Journey,

My wife came to the U.S. 2 years ago, got married and holding a conditional 2-year green card. Currently the green card is about to be expired. She is apply for the permanent 10-year green card. I was told that she should apply for the re entry permit at the same time while she is applying for the green card and she only has to pay for the fee of getting the green card and not having to pay for the re entry permit??? Is there such a thing in general? My question is if this is true, will this delay the process of getting the 10-year green card or not?
