  1. Your daughter is your wife's daughter, right?

    1. Yes, she is a U.S. citizen and can apply for a U.S. passport. She does not need a Certificate of Citizenship to do it.

    2. The disadvantage is that if the passport gets lost then to get another one she may need to present the secondary proof of citizenship (her mother's Certificate of naturalization, her green card, and proof they lived together) all over again.

  2. Hi everyone,

Im new on this topic. I have a 16 year old daughter who is a green card holder. My wife recently became a US citizen and i would like to inquire what is the next step for my daughter to become a US citizen too. I have been to the Local branch of the DHS on different occasions and i got 2 different versions from immigration officers.

The first one said that my daughter has to apply for a Certificate of citizenship ( N600) before she can apply for a US passport.

The second officer said that it is an option, US Passport or Certificate of Citizenship.

I am confused with the 2 answers so i have decided to go for both never mind the expenses.

    My Questions are:

    1) Can she apply first for a US Passport as my wife insist because that was the advice given to her during her oath taking as an option; then file the N600 later?

    2) any disadvantages of just having a US Passport only.

    Your thoughts are much appreciated

  3. Wala pong sinabi.

Good for you for having fun.

    Have more good ones, Askot.

  4. Congrats sir.

Masarap sana mag good time sa Pinas kung may panggastos. Be safe bro.

  5. Wow, mahaba habang driving yan papuntang florida.

Most of the time, nagtatago yang mga yan and meron din time nasa helicopter sila at kumukuha ng speed trap.

Enjoy, have fun and arrive safe.

We called USCIS awhile ago to confirm, and according to them for as long as the mother becomes USC before the child turns 18,

then the child would automatically become USC...

Thanks Kabayan, this is really good news for me. I will visit your link.

  7. Dito na pala sa US si Askot. WElcome. Enjoy New York, the Big Apple and the premier city of the USA. For your SSN maghintay ka na lang ng 3 weeks from your arrival baka matanggap mo by mail. Kung wala then go to SSN office. Kung pupunta ka agad pabalikin ka rin after after 3 weeks. Just Bring your original visa/passport and xerox copy sa SSN office.

Ang pagkuha ng drivers license dito sa Washington state medyo stricto di ko alam sa New York. Mahigpit sa proof of address.

  8. Oath taking na ni misis on the 24th of this month,.. YES,.!

And coz she will be an American Citizen na, carried na automatically ang 2 teens namin,

perfect timing,..! Ako na lang ang berde ang passport

Blue passport na silang lahat,...

Congrats! I didnt know that children are carried with citizenship. This is good news for my 15 year old daughter then. My wife will be elligible next year. What I know is that immigrant children can become citizens only when they reach the age of 30. Can someone enlighten me?

  9. Good Day to all!

My PD is September 22, 2010. Current PD is June 01, 2010. I think mine will become current minimum of 2 months and maximum of 4 months. I really want to spend christmas time with my family. Im planning to file for tourist visa. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Have you heard of cases wherein their PD is near then they applied for tourist visa and got approved?

Yes but very seldom that they got approved. I would say 20% Chance, would you take it? Then wear a bright color shirt during the interview, hehe , just like my son, it worked. Just a tip which you may know : a part in the application which ask who will shoulder your expenses, it should be You not your relative because you are a tourist. Good luck kabayan.

  10. Hi All!

I just wanted to inform everyone that today I had my interview. Today is exactly the same day I met my wife 8 years ago. And today the US Consul said "Congratulations your visa has been approved, you may now join your wife in the States."

To all F2As keep praying and be patient. You will be with your lovedones in His time.

    Congrats!

  12. I received my VISA today, sept. 21, 2012..

    F2a category

nung iniinterview ako ng filipino screener.. pinasagutan uli ung DS-230 form ko because there's a lot of blanks .... so i put NA in all blanks .. then she ask me if my age, tel no., are upated and i said no.. she erase it with liquid correction and i replaced my current age and phone number, and i volunteer, that my address of my petitioner , hindi na ung address na yon at bago na.. so i replace it their current address, then she updated it on computer..

I only have one question... bat ung natanggap ko na ung VISA ko.. and nakalagay dun sa immigrant data summary na still ung old address of my petioner ung nakalagay dun and not the new ONE??

hindi kaya ako magkaproblem sa US port of entry just asking guys

Meron kasi official form for change of address in the US so malamang di naupdate yung new address ng petitioner mo. Halimbawa yung utility bills and copy of drivers licence indicating the new address of your petitioner.

Yung corrected ds230 mo ay nasa loob ng yellow packet na dadalhin mo so pag tinanong yung new address ang sasabihin mo. Yun lang baka hihingi ng proof of new address at mga ito nga ang puede mo ipakita.

  13. hi kabayans;

This is very important lalo na nasa US ka.

    One page lang ito.

I get your views let me paste it.

    Hi VJers.

I will be having my interview here in USEm Manila this coming Sep27. My wife is an LPR. We had a child an LPR too born 2006. Wife studied here in Manila after giving birth and so we got the chance to "live-in" together. We only got married last 2009 we only applied for the I-130 year 2010.

In year 2008 and 2009 respectively, I applied for Non-immigrant Visa B1-B2 and I was denied. In the application form of that Non-Immigrant Visa I was unable to declare that my child was an LPR or even a fiancee (not sure if there was an option for that too). My fear now, will the Consular Officer question me about that application I made? Will that be grounds for INA § 212(a)(6)©(i) Fraud or Misrepresentation?

    Salamat Po

    Opinion ko lang din ito.

Yung 2008 visa application mo officially single ka pa. So okey lang.

Good luck.

  15. God is good talaga! VISA APPROVED na kami ng anak ko. Praise the Lord! Thank you Lord talaga!!!

If may time and available yung doctor, makukuha nyo na din yung result.

If wala, balik kayo sa monday.

Agree.

Wala ako nakuha complimentary meal that time.

Young meal kinukuha long naming pabalik as US kasi young ppunta sa PI katatapos long kumain as plane. Sarap din pagkain as loob ng plane.

  19. Ask ko lang po, we passed our interview last august 18 (friday)

kelan po kaya madedeliver ang aming visa?

    holiday po ng aug 20 - 21..

    thank you!

Congrats. Kung pick from SM 2GO office mga 4 days nga. Kunin mo yung tel number nila kasi palpak yung texbak nila.

Happy trip bro.

  23. Hello, muzta po sa lahat.

My mother is a LPR, originally from Philippines. She filed 1-130 for my youngest brother to migrate in US.

Date of birth is Dec 5, 1990 (he just turned 20 when we filed I-130, he's 21 years old now)

    On Dec 10, 2010 (filed I-130)

His priority date is also Dec 2010 (sorry forgot the exact day, im at work right now).

The USCIS approve the petition on May 18, 2011.

November 17, 2011 -- Received an email from NVC, stating that "the immigration visa petition on behalf of the beneficiary is eligle for further processing at the National Visa Center." (what this e-mail means?)

My brother already file DS-230 to NVC,,, we also sent the AOS documents and paid all the required amounts for processing.

Just check the NVC case bulletin, and current priority date is feb 15, 2010, next month will be march 2010.

My question is, does my brother still qualify for the CSPA or he already aged-out for his application.

    Thank you!!!

Welcome kabayan. Sorry to inform you na age out na siya. 21 na siya nung Dec 5 2011. Yung kasing reckoning ng minor age of 21 is when the priority date becomes current. Maging F2B na meaning its a long wait.

Very frustrating.

Ittached nyo yung request letter nyo and yung mga sagot nila. Siyempre me magandang elaboration din ng case nyo wc I am not capable of doing for you kaya sabi ko magpatulong ang asawa mo sa mga NGOs. Or punta ka sa ibang forum dito sa VJ titled bringing family members of permanent resident to the US.
