normally, millitary involving cases gets special treatment and gets approved much faster than others so...

Not really... I am a military wife and still waiting for USCIS's "decision" :-(

Another frastration I have been dealing with is when my receipt # (the one that appears on my 1st NOA where it says that my resident status has been extended for another year) can not be found on the uscis website under "my case status' . But the one that appears on my NOA for bio appointment, it is called application #, has the updates about my case status. Does anybody has the same issues?

I just got off the phone with a uscis' representative. To my question why my receipt # number can not be found, the lady answered that my receipt number was put in to a different data base. She was talking nonsense and at the end my question still was not answered. Also, after every time a spoke a word, she was saying "thank you very much", which sounded a bit annoying. Who did they hire? I was trying to get someone else on the phone to answer my question, but awaiting is killing. What a luck..

I do not know whats happening but more may filers should get approved. But I guess it is finally moving ahead. I wish the vermont filers did not have to wait that long.

Yes, that is the standard NOA1, same wording on all of them. You can ignore the part about the evidence if you already sent everything in.

Oops, I forgot to attach the file and found out that there is no such option on here. Does anybody know how I can upload a pdf file?

Just a couple days ago I was complaining about how slow VT Center works. Ha-ha, today I got my NOA1 that is dated as May 9.

It says that they have extended my conditional resident status for a year, but also is said that "If you have not already done so , provide supporting documents to assist USCIS in processing...", "Such evidence may include..." Peeps, have a look at my attached NOA to understand what I am talking about. I am wondering if everyone who has received their NOAs, the latter look the same as mine.

I assume I should disregard the quotes mentioned above since our joint tax returns, medical and car insurances, leases, etc were sent in the package. Let me know if I understood it right.

Also, the case status may be checked online once the bio appointment is received, correct?

Mine was checked on the 11th, which is 5 days later my package was delivered at the VT Center

Do you guy track when they cash the check? Anyhoo, it's early.

That was I thought, Alex & Rachel. Wow, looks like Cali Center works way faster than the VT one. So, it only took 6 days for you to receive the NOA1. But for another May filer (CA) it only took 3 (!!!) days. That what made me get confused . There is no way, the USCIS did it for such an extremely short period . Let's say, it took 1 day for a package to be delivered, 1 day for USCIS to look at it, and the last 3rd day for the NOA to be sent to the filer.

I may be wrong.. I wish all immigration services worked that fast :-D

It's the date on the NOA1 received. The NOA1 is the letter that states they have received your application, have extended your greencard for another year, and in which they tell you they will send your biometrics appointment information soon.

So I posted my package on 05/03, received the letter 05/09, and the date on the letter was 05/06. I live in California so evidently the letter didn't take very long to reach me!

I am confused, peeps.. So, is NOA1 the date that the package was delivered at USCIS or the date we receive NOA from them? If it is when it was delivered, then add May 6 to the list. Thanks

This was a very tedious task and required lot of patient. - I bet it was, champi. I have a lack of patience But I like your idea! I suppose, the sticky notes I got are the size what you were altering yours to (like "sign here" post note's size, right?), so they would work just fine. Gonna ask if my hubby wouldnt mind righting my name and a# for each paper, if not, then I pass it (

I did use sticky notes for one thing. I wrote applicants' full name and alien # on the front side of the sticky part . Then I cut just the sticky part (so it's a narrow strip rather than square note) and stuck it at the top right corner of every piece of paper (except the I-751 application, photos, and check). This was a very tedious task and required lot of patient. I did it so that if a one of the paper gets misplaced or something (probably unlikely), they know exactly whose application it came out from. Also, since it's sticky note, if they want to take it out, it will easily come out.

I am not suggesting this is required or part of packaging guidelines or anything like that.I did this at I-130 (CR1) time too and so I don't think it will hurt in anyway.

Don't use red pen, Oops, I used my pink highlighter on all papers, I dont have any other .

Use post-its if you must. After I read your comment about post-its, I found plenty of it sitting in my desk drawer. Too bad I didnt think of it earlie :bonk: . That is a good reference for future, thou.

Hey folks, reading your comments about highlighting makes me breath easier, thanks to everyone who responded! I started the new topic about it and it looks like many spouses did the same way. Though, somebody suggested to use sticky-notes instead, and today I found lots of them sitting in my desk drawer - shame I did not think of it before I highlighted all my papers. Oh, well..

I am wondering if there is anybody who highlighted names, addresses, dates, etc on their evidence documents and your package was not sent back to you due to "highlighting" reasons? I would assume you may answer if you already had the interview or at least you received your biometrics appointment notice. Please, share

I did the same on all of our evidence; I highlighted our names and address and other important information. I figure anything that makes it easier for them the better.

Ha-ha, it's good to know that I am not the only smart one, champi ;-) How long ago did you ship your package? I still would like to hear from those who did and their packages were not returned. I thinking to post the same question on other threads. Good luck to ya!

I don't think it dumb and if it is, that it makes two of us I've done the same too on all the document (which are copies essentially). I am not sure if they'll return my package or not.

I think I did the dumbest thing which I should not - I highlighted our names on all our docs (tax returns, car/medical insurance, housing leases, etc). I thought it would be easier for USCIS examiners to find it. I am going to mail our package next week and wondering if they return my package and request to send one with no highlights on. Does anybody know?

I guess nobody had similar situation to mine. Ok, I got the response from the US embassy in Uzbekistan and here is what they saying:

1. Please add 30 years to the date of passport issuance and enter the date you receive in the passport expiration field.

2. You may write “Russia” for “Place of birth”.

3. List your husband’s family name as a person paying for the trip.

Preamble: According to the procedures of Ministry of Internal Affairs in Uzbekistan, its citizens who reached age of 16 receive their very first passports, then at ages 25 and 45 they must renew it. To those who never lived in Uzbekistan these government regulations may sound weird, because majority of countries do so every 10 years - and I am with you. So, my 63-year old mother's passport has no expiration date in it, it is simply stated as "unlimited". On the DS-160 there is no such option given. They need the exact date. Whoever is familiar with this situation, please advise!

Another issue - "Place of birth". On the photo page of her passport it appears as "Russia" (she was born in Russia), and on the Russian-Uzbek page as "Ульяновская область" (which is the name of region in Russian), but no city. Again, the form won't let me leave the "City" line blank. Any recommendations on this?

And the last - my father-in-law is willing to pay for my mother's round-trip airfare and my husband and I are paying for the rest of her expenses here in the USA. Who shall I include as a person paying for her trip?

I have emailed the US embassy in Tashkent, Uzb, but have not heard from them yet, and I do not know how much longer it will take them to respond. If you know the relevant info or had the same troubles in past, please share.
