  6. UPDATE: Thankfully a waste of time and energy worrying about an RFE from NVC all weekend, the missing documents the AVR was talking about was my husband's Visa App. Apparently, if they review your AOS and do not have the benficiary docs in hand at the same time, NVC issues a letter and AVR message saying your documents are incomplete or missing... they mean the IV app...Thank God, my AOS package was fine... now just waiting on the review of the Visa App.

And actually, there is a Wiki guide for bringing your spouse here that states in a Note do not panic..this message would come if your AOS package is reviewed and you have not paid your IV App fee and sent in the DS230... but I had already paid the fee and the docs were received at NVC the day before the review.. so I wasnt sure that the "do not panic" note in the guide applied to me.. THANK GOD it Did!.

  7. Okay so NVC got my AOS on monday and my husbands DS230 on wednesday...the recording today says my docs were reviewed yesterday and something is incomplete or missing. i am assuming it is my docs as the review was done yesterday and my hubby's docs were just there one day. but of course it is a holliday and no one there to ask til monday...LONG WEEKEND COMING..

  8. Okay..It's October 28, the forecast for Northern NJ is for 10-15 inches of snow tomorrow (not even Halloween yet.. jeez!..NVC has had my file for almost 3 weeks and not a hint of giving a case # yet.. and my husband is sitting in the wonderful warm tropics of indonesia.. What in the world am I doing sitting here in NJ waiting for the US governments approval of my husband? I could be in the tropics, warm, happy together with him.. This process is making me nuts!

manado is about 3 hour plane ride from jakarta, east.. are you doing whole process on your own? what travel agent did you use when going over there, was it better leaving from newark or jfk?

  9. Well, no better way to follow a wonderful trip to see my husband and celebrate our first wedding anniversary, then by receiving the email I got tonight that FINALLY WE ARE APPROVED AND HAVE OUR NOA2.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you God!!!!!!!

  10. Celebrated a wonderful first wedding anniversary with my husband. The only imperfect part was that I had to come to Indonesia to do it (even though I love visiting here). I swear next year all of our celebrations will happen in America.

  11. Never thought I could be made so happy by the letters RFE.....but oh my god, after 6 months and 18 days of waiting.. those 3 letters seem like a great blessing. Off to collect my documents and evidence

    1. no more

  12. praying, waiting, praying, waiting... praying some more. but plannng a great trip to see my hubby next month to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. so will uscis contact me just before I spend a fortune on the trip, while I'm there or once I'm back home?

It will be 8 months since NOA 1 when I get home from my trip. Somehow I have given up hope that I will hear anything before then.

      Dumb/Dumber

I am nine months today. I understand the giving up hope. There is no excuse for the pain this causes us. I pray you hear something soon. I do not wish this pain on anyone.

  13. Moving to Indonesia is looking better every day. If it wasnt for the custody battle I would face with my ex-husband to take my 8 year old daughter with me, I think I would be there already and have given up on this fine country of ours ever letting this process end.

My father's wife is from Ternate, and he lived in Papua for 8 years. I had the pleasure of visiting a few years ago. It's a beautiful country. But your daughter, not sure how'd she would fare. But you're the mama. You would know her limitations. They go to school 6 days a week there.

Hi Nur and tolsab. Thanks for your comments. My daughter loves Indonesia, I brought her my last trip (yes she wasn't happy about school being 6 days a week) however it is her father that wouldn't let her go for long term. Plus, I need my job here in order to move back to US eventually. Otherwise I would be there now its a beautiful place. I am going end of september, I refuse to be apart on our 1st wedding anniversary.

Best of luck to you both in your journeys through this process. May god bless us all with good news soon.

  14. Icha...that is wonderful news! congratulations! I actually called USCIS today and spoke to a tier 2 person as I am passed my 5 month mark...she told I should I hear back in the next couple of weeks and if I received no notices within the next 20 days to call back and they will check my file again. So here's hoping that before this month is over I will have good news as well. Goo...

  16. thank you Dina

  17. Nothing from USCIS. They say background checks are still pending (my 5 months ends Thursday, June 30). As soon as background checks are complete, they will decide my file. I give up. How is everything with you? I see your RFE is in review. That is great. I hope it passes through quickly and you are soon here in the USA. Good luck to you.

  18. it is very different to file directly and to file here in the US. many steps are faster when filing at the embassy. there is no comparison for processing times. thank you for your information though, also i have solid proof of support, i have a great job..it is why i couldnt stay in Indonesia to process there. i have work and a family here

  20. I said I requested an expedite, not I got one and they have made no determination on it since May 10. And a congressman can call at any time for status, such as no determination on an expedite request after 30 days. And the estimate is 5 months, you can call and inquire about status after that.

  21. Okay, so it is 4 1/2 months since my NOA1, I am passed the VJ estimate by 3 days, but 2 weeks from the 5 month mark, even though I filed for an expedite on May 10, 2011, my last date updated remains at February 9, 2011. So, I have decided for the next two weeks, I am going to just focus my energy elsewhere and stop checking the stats here and my case on USCIS website every day. I am driving myself crazy. So I am going to relax, concentrate on other matters I have been ignoring and enjoy my...
